Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Snowball Throwing Method in improving students' reading comprehension and learning interest among tenth-grade students of Assalam IBS. Conducted as classroom action research, the study involved 30 students from class X.C over two cycles. Data were collected through reading comprehension tests, learning interest questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis for quantitative data, which includes the results of the reading comprehension test and the learning interest questionnaire. Meanwhile, qualitative data, which consists of observation and interview results, were analyzed using descriptive narrative data analysis techniques. The findings reveal significant improvements across both cycles. In Cycle 1, the average reading comprehension score was 67.67, with an average learning interest score of 98.80. By Cycle 2, these scores increased to 77.75 for reading comprehension and 112.30 for learning interest. The result was also supported by data of observation and interview to the students related to learning activity by using snowball throwing method. The results indicate that the Snowball Throwing Method effectively enhances both reading comprehension and student engagement. This method encourages active participation and collaborative learning, fostering a more interactive and stimulating classroom environment. The study concludes that the Snowball Throwing Method is a practical approach to address challenges in reading comprehension and learning interest among high school students.

Abstract

This article examines the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) within Indonesia's education system through multiple theoretical frameworks. Despite national initiatives such as Merdeka Belajar and Digitalisasi Sekolah, the implementation of ICT continues to face systemic barriers including infrastructure inequality, teacher preparedness, and fragmented policy execution. Utilizing a qualitative, literature-based approach, the study analyzes ICT integration through the lenses of Diffusion of Innovation, TPACK, SAMR, Constructivism, and Connectivism. These frameworks illuminate the sociocultural, pedagogical, and technological factors shaping ICT adoption in Indonesia’s diverse educational landscape. The findings underscore the need for locally responsive strategies that prioritize sustainable teacher professional development, inclusive infrastructure expansion, stakeholder collaboration, and context-sensitive policy formulation. Furthermore, the article outlines key benefits of ICT—such as enhanced access to information, personalized learning, and 21st-century skill development—while critically examining barriers rooted in inequities and institutional limitations. Practical strategies are proposed to address these challenges, including digital professional learning communities, culturally relevant content development, and innovation incentives. The study concludes by identifying future research directions, including longitudinal studies, inclusive practices, and policy evaluation. By offering a multidimensional perspective, this article contributes to ongoing discourse on how to bridge the digital divide and foster more equitable, effective ICT integration in Indonesian education.

Abstract

Using multimedia and interactive tools in reading instruction has become more popular as a way to improve student engagement and understanding in an increasingly digital educational environment. The effectiveness of these digital resources which include interactive apps, educational games, and e-books in enhancing reading abilities across a range of learner profiles is investigated in this paper. This study synthesizes information from 35 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2024 using a qualitative research methodology. The review demonstrates the potential of multimedia technologies to create a more dynamic learning environment by highlighting important advantages including improved motivation, comprehension, and differentiation of instruction. The study does, however, also address some significant shortcomings, such as teacher readiness, content quality, equity concerns, cognitive overload, and reliance on technology. In order to optimize learning outcomes, these criteria highlight the need for thorough educator training and fair access to digital resources. This article offers insightful information for educators and government official who want to incorporate technology in a way that promotes reading development by outlining both its advantages and disadvantages. The results imply that although multimedia tools have the potential to revolutionize literacy instruction, their application needs to be carefully considered to guarantee the best possible learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the use of the online learning platform Quizizz in the vocabulary development of junior high school students. The primary focus is to evaluate the effectiveness of Quizizz as a learning tool in enhancing English vocabulary mastery. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design involving two groups of students: an experimental group using Quizizz and a control group using traditional methods. The results indicate that students who used Quizizz showed a significant improvement in vocabulary acquisition compared to those in the control group. These findings suggest that the use of Quizizz not only increases student engagement but also positively impacts their academic achievement in vocabulary learning. The study recommends integrating Quizizz as part of vocabulary teaching strategies in junior high schools. This study aims to analyse the use of the online learning platform Quizizz in the vocabulary development of junior high school students. Abstract

Abstract

This qualitative case study focuses into the use of Quizizz, a digital quiz platform, for integrated language skill assessment in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. The study, which was conducted with secondary school instructors and students in Indonesia, looked at how educators use Quizizz to develop exams that include listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, as well as teacher and student evaluations of its usefulness. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, focus groups, and assessment material analysis. Thematic analysis found that Quizizz effectively supports the integration of receptive and productive abilities and increases student engagement through gamification, but it presents issues in assessing speaking skills and requires significant instructor work for task design. The findings show the platform's potential for dynamic, motivating language evaluations, while also emphasizing the importance of complementing tools and professional development to address its shortcomings. This study informs the use of digital technologies in comprehensive language skill assessment within EFL situations.
