Abstract

This research aims to find out the influence of inquiry and discovery approach toward the biology-learning outcome at grade XI students in SMA Negeri 1 Walenrang. This research was quasy experiment with Posttest Only, Non-Equivqlent Control Group Design. This research was done in SMA Negeri 1 Walenrang by taking two classes as research subjects. They were XI IPA3 as experimen group with 39 students who were tought through inquiry and discovery and XI IPA2­ with 40 students as control group who were tought through expository aproach. The data of the researh was found by giving result test after all the material had been tought. The data was analyzed showed that the result of experiment group was good categorized with average 77,26 were as result of control group was wortcing on categorized with average 71,17. Based on the test by using test data analysis t where P<0,05 so that Ho rejected and H1 was accepted. It showed that there was influence of inquiry and discovery learning approach toward the biology learning outcome at grade XI students in SMA Negeri 1 Walenrang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of science process skills of laboratory assistants of Biology Education FKIP UNTAD through ecology field practicum guidance. The research method used in this research was descriptive by using this type of qualitative research. The subjects in this study were 30 laboratory assistants. Increasing science process skills through ecology field practicum activities including work safety indicators in practicum, skills using tools and materials, skills in making observations, ability to apply sampling methods and techniques, ability to analyze and interpret data, and ability to communicate practical results. Data were analyzed to count the Normalized Gain (N-Gain). Based on the Normalized Gain analysis on the six indicators of science process skills, the assistants overall have an average of 0.67 (classified as moderate). Furthermore, based on the hypothesis test, it showed the tcount (8.899) was greater than the ttable value (2.015) so that the H0 hypothesis was rejected, which means that there was an increase in science process skills at the Biology Education Laboratory Assistant FKIP UNTAD through ecology field practicum guidance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dipadukan media animasi terhadap kretivitas dan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas VII SMPN 19 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu (quasy experiment) dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Posttest, Non-Equivqlent Control Group Design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 19 Palu dengan menggunakan dua kelas sebagai subjek penelitian yaitu kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 30 siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan STAD dipadukan media animasi, dan kelas control yang berjumlah 30 siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model konvensional. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan lembar observasi saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung dan memberikan tes hasil belajar setelah seluruh materi diajarkan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian berhasil meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dengan bukti pada pertemuan pertama jumlah siswa yang berkategori kurang lebih banyak namun pada pertemuan kedua jumlah siswa yang berkategori kurang telah berkurang jumlahnya, sedangkan jumlah berkategori baik bahkan sangat baik pada pertemuan kedua meningkat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai hasil belajar  pada kelompok eksperimen  dikategorikan baik dengan nilai rata-rata 78.7 sedangkan nilai hasil belajar pada kelompok kontrol dikategorikan cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 74.6. Kesimpulan yaitu penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dipadukan media animasi pembelajaran biologi dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of the mind map-assisted cooperative script learning model on student learning outcomes on biology subject. Learning was carried out online during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in the academic year 2020/2021 in odd semesters. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest posttest control group design. This study used 1 control class and 1 experimental class. The number of students were 19 and 21 in the experimental and control class, respectively. To collect the data, a 20-question learning outcome test was used. The research activities were carried out 4 times with 2 tests and 2 learning activities. Research data were analyzed using t-test and Mann Whitney test. The mean difference of the pretest results showed that sig 0.43> 0.05, this indicated that there was no difference in the two groups. The results of the hypothesis test of the posttest showed that Asymp. Sig 0.04 <0.05, with an average posttest score of the experimental class was 11.52 and an average score of the control class learning outcomes was 9.2. The results of this study revealed that the cooperative script learning model assisted with mind maps has a positive effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Banyaknya penemuan terkait pemanfaatan limbah plastik menjadi bahan baku batako membuat kami tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) memberikan informasi mengenai pengetahuan tentang cara pengolahan sampah pelastik menjadi batako. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini meliputi sosialisasi dalam bentuk ceramah, pelatihan atau praktek yang dilaksanakan secara langsung serta metode kuantitif. Dari kegiatan PKM ini kami menghasilkan 3 jenis batako dengan hasil evaluasi kepuasan kegiatan sebanyak 84.4% dalam kategori sangat baik. kegiatan pengabdian ini masyarakat desa Mpanau telah mensosialisasikan, mengajarkan dan menghasilkan batako dari bahan baku limbah plastik serta pemanfaatannya pada peningkatan pendapatan keluarga. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan oleh tim kami berjalan dengan sangat baik.

Abstract

Buah pisang, papaya, semangka dan jeruk merupakan tanaman hortikultura yang produksinya tinggi di Sulawesi Tengah, salah satunya di Desa Labuan Panimba. Masyarakat umumnya hanya memanfaatkan daging buah untuk dikonsumsi langsung, sementara kulit buah dibuang begitu saja. Dengan demikian, semakin banyak buah yang dihasilkan, maka semakin banyak pula sampah kulit buahnya. Padahal, kulit buah memiliki kandungan gizi yang mirip dengan daging buah. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini penting dilakukan. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan selai dari empat jenis kulit buah. Kegiatan ini berhasil dilakukan karena 1) masyarakat telah memiliki pengetahuan terhadap pentingnya pengolahan kulit buah; 2) masyarakat telah memiliki keterampilan dalam pembuatan sela dari kulit buah

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the type and content of food for Mujair and tilapia fish from Lake Lindu by means of a section and taking gastric contents and observing and analyzing them. The stages of the research were fish sampling, surgery (section), research in the laboratory and testing the nutritional content of food (carbohydrates, protein and fat). The research samples were Mujair fish (Oreochromis mossambicus) and Tilapia (Oreochromis nilotica) from Lake Lindu. Based on research obtained by the types of fish food O. mossambicus obtained two groups of Phytoplankton namely, Oedogonium sp, Anabaena sp, Nostoc sp, Oscillatoria princeps, Diatomae sp, Navicula gysingen, Rivularia sp, Coelastrum sphaericum, and Zooplankton namely Chironomus sp, Dugesia tigrina. There were eight types of food for O. nilotica, consisting of six types of phytoplankton, namely Oedogonium sp, Anabaena sp, Nostoc sp, Oscillatoria princeps, Rivularia sp, Coelastrum sphaericum and 2 types of zooplankton feed, namely Chironomus sp and Dugesia tigrina. The nutritional content of fish food/feed is protein (15.18%), fat (19.20%), and carbohydrates (1.9%).

Abstract

This research is a descriptive research using quantitative approach. This research was conducted at Senior High Schools in East Palu in August 2022. The sample of this study consisted of five biology teachers of State Senior High School in East Palu. The instrument used was an open-ended questionnaire that included five dimensions of TPACK. Each TPACK section contains three issues derived from three indicators. With the help of the open-ended questionnaire, the use of TPACK-based learning media by biology teachers can be measured externally and deeply. The results showed that the most used media by biology teachers is technology-based media particularly PowerPoint media. According to the teachers, PowerPoint media is easy to use and develop, and it can support students to interpret the material effectively and practically. Another media used by biology teachers is traditional media utilization where they use media as learning tools. Finally, the teachers employ pictures of laboratory materials as these are easier to find.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the effect of Teams Game Tournament type cooperative learning model on motivation and learning outcomes of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Palu. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment (pseudo experiment), the research design is a pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design . This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 14 Palu using two classes as research samples, namely the experimental class of 30 students and the control class of 31 students using the Random Sampling. Data collection use interviews, test questions, questionnaires. The research instrument uses teaching modules, test questions, questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of Teams Game Tournament type cooperative learning model on student motivation and learning outcomes. Based on hypothesis testing with the t test, the results of learning motivation are 0.000 <0.005 and learning outcomes of 0.000 <0.005 so that it has a significant effect. This can also be seen from the average value of learning motivation at the final meeting of the experimental and control classes. The experimental class had an average of 83% while the control class had an average of 62%. The average value of posstest learning outcomes of the experimental and control classes. The experimental class had an average of 82 while the control class had an average of 52. This shows that the use of the Teams Game Tournament type cooperative learning model can increase student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study examines the challenges faced by junior high school teachers in implementing science teaching standards, with a particular focus on issues related to instructional guidance, continuous assessment, and the provision of resources. It aims to identify gaps and offer strategies to enhance science education quality in Indonesian schools.Methodology: A mixed-method approach was employed, combining classroom observations, structured interviews, and questionnaires. Data were collected from 160 participants, including teachers and students from junior high schools in Mantikulore District, Central Sulawesi. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative insights were drawn from thematic coding of interviews and observations.Main Findings: The findings reveal that while teachers demonstrate competence in providing guidance and conducting assessments, significant challenges remain in creating conducive learning environments. These include insufficient access to modern teaching resources, limited training in continuous assessment methods, and overcrowded classrooms that hinder effective science instruction. Students reported that practical activities and hands-on experiments were often constrained by a lack of laboratory materials, impacting their engagement and understanding of scientific concepts.Novelty/Originality of this study: This research provides localized insights into the systemic and practical challenges faced by Indonesian schools in implementing science teaching standards. It uniquely highlights the interplay between resource availability, teacher development, and classroom practices. The study proposes innovative strategies for resource allocation, capacity building, and the integration of technology to address these gaps, contributing to evidence-based policy recommendations.
