Abstract

Background: The HERO (Helping and Empowering Women in Reproductive Choices) program is a community service initiative aimed at enhancing the knowledge of women of reproductive age in Sumbersekar Village, Dau District, Malang Regency. A situational analysis of Midwife Sunarni’s practice revealed significant challenges: a shortage of adequately trained village health cadres to support healthcare professionals in delivering reproductive health education and low community awareness stemming from educational and economic factors. Method: Conducted in September 2024 and through two educational sessions involving village health workers and women of reproductive age, the program provided information on family planning, reproductive health, and preconception nutrition. Participants completed pretests and posttests to assess knowledge improvement before and after the sessions. Result: Results showed a significant increase in the average posttest score (89.80) compared to the pretest score (57.80). The distribution of knowledge levels also indicated a rise in the "high" category from 0% in the pretest to 76% in the posttest. This program successfully demonstrated the effectiveness of education in improving preconception health knowledge among women of reproductive age. Follow-up and monitoring by village health workers are necessary to sustain the knowledge and healthy behaviors promoted by the program. Conclusion: It is important to build on the success of the HERO initiative by implementing ongoing education programs and addressing remaining knowledge gaps.

Abstract

Background: Data from 2023 shows that around 39.9 million people in the world are living with HIV. East Java Province is in second place with 77,447 cases of people living with HIV/AIDS in 2022. People with HIV (PLHIV) need social support for treatment, care, and building resilience. Without this support, they are at risk of experiencing declining health, difficulty accessing care, loss of enthusiasm, and feelings of helplessness. Methods: This activity was carried out using the Information, Motivation, Behavioral Skills (IMB) Model approach through counseling by two expert speakers. Supporting media in the form of pocket books were also distributed to participants. The activity was carried out on August 3, 2024, targeting peer supporters from the Mahameru Foundation, Malang City branch and representatives of field outreach from Malang City and Regency. The evaluation was carried out by comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test of the participants. Results: There was an increase in the average pre-test and post-test scores of 13 points. Paired T-Test showed a significant difference between the average pre-test and post-test scores after being given education (p=0.006). The T-test results showed that T count was greater than T table, indicating a significant difference. Conclusions: This counseling program successfully increased participants' knowledge about handling HIV/AIDS and effective communication with PLHIV. To strengthen the role of peer supporters, additional training such as Psychological First Aid is needed to improve skills in providing appropriate emotional support.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Kekerasan seksual dan perundungan kian marak terjadi pada anak. Pelakunya dapat orang lain bahkan orang yang berada di sekitar anak. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk menumbuhkan kewaspadaan pada anak dengan menggunakan kartu edukasi sebagai alternatif media edukasi. Metode: Partcipartory Action Research digunakan penulis kepada para siswa PAUD Miracle Kids, mitra kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini memiliki permasalahan terkait pencegahan kekerasan seksual dan perundungan. Sehingga pemberian edukasi dilakukan dengan alat bantu kartu edukasi. Hasil: diperoleh hasil efektif dalam penyampaian materi pencegahan kekerasan pada anak dengan kartu edukasi ini. Kartu disusun sesuaikan dengan materi pencegahan kekerasan seksual untuk anak usia dini yang dituangkan dalam fash card yang memiliki gambar dan warna yang menarik. Media kartu edukasi dipilih karena anak lebih mudah menerima informasi berupa grafis. Pembahasan: Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari Pendidikan Seksualitas Komprehensif yang menjadi bagian proses belajar mengajar berbasis kurikulum. Tidak jauh berbeda dengan pendidikan seksual, menanamkan pembentukan karakter positif pada anak usia dini juga menjadi perhatian agar anak dapat terhindar sebagai korban maupun pelaku perundungan. Simpulan: Kartu edukasi dapat menjadi media alternatif dalam menyampaikan pendidikan anti kekerasan dan diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan pemahaman pada siswa untuk mencegah terjadinya kekerasan. Media ini juga sesuai dengan perkembangan anak usia prasekolah yang lebih menyenangi aktivitas yang bersifat permainan dan mencoba hal baru yang ada disekitarnya.

Abstract

Kondisi remaja yang dalam masa tidak stabil membuat remaja rentan akan berbagai perilaku negatif. Beberapa penyebab masalah remaja adalah kurangnya komunikasi terbuka, adanya budaya tabu tentang seksualita, dan pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi berbasis sekolah yang tidak memadai. Tujuan program PROTEKSI sebagai meningkatkan pengetahuan kesehatan reproduksi, kesehatan mental, dan pencegahan NAPZA, memberikan keterampilan teknologi media edukasi, meningkatkan program PIK-R sekolah, serta mendukung peer educator sebagai agen perubahan yang mempromosikan kesehatan reproduksi di lingkungan sekolah. Metode kegiatan melalui sosialisasi dengan pihak sekolah, pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi remaja, pelatihan menggunakan aplikasi Canva, pendampingan dan evaluasi dan pengangkatan duta PROTEKSI. Pengabdian ini dilakukan pada bulan Agustus-November 2024 di SMK Negeri 2 Malang dengan jumlah peserta 45 siswa-siswi. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan seluruh peserta mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan rata-rata sebanyak 22,2 poin terkait masalah kesehatan reproduksi, kesehatan mental, dan pencegahan NAPZA dengan tingkat pengetahuan sebagian besar baik. Seluruh peserta dapat membuat media edukasi melalui platform Canva dan pengangkatan duta PROTEKSI sekaligus anggota PIK-R sekolah yang bertugas sebagai peer educator siswa-siswi terkait masalah kesehatan reproduksi, kesehatan mental, dan pencegahan NAPZA di sekolah.

Abstract

Sexual health issues remain unresolved globally and nationally. In Indonesia, unwanted pregnancies among women aged 15-19 years are twice as high (16%) as those aged 20-24 years (8%), and 19% of young people aged 15-24 who have had sexual relations report unwanted pregnancies. Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is one of the media in addressing this issue, fostering self-motivated learning that empowers adolescents to prevent unintended pregnancies and manage their sexual health. This study aimed to identify media and tools that effectively enhance adolescents' motivation for independent learning about reproductive health. A literature review was conducted using the Publish or Perish database for articles from 2018 to 2023, with keywords such as "self-motivated learning," "reproductive health," and "adolescents." Through the PRISMA method, we found 1,755 articles were screened, and four relevant studies were identified. The findings suggest that game-based learning platforms and M-Health websites offering direct counseling and practical reproductive health guidance are particularly effective in fostering self-motivated learning. In conclusion, both game-based learning and M-Health platforms are key tools in promoting autonomous learning among adolescents about reproductive health.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penilaian serta tindak lanjut tumbuh kembang anak memiliki tujuan sebagai deteksi dini potensi hambatan tumbuh kembang dan keterlambatan tumbuh kembang pada anak, sehingga ketika terdeteksi adanya potensi gangguan tumbuh kembang, dapat dilakukan intervensi sesegera mungkin. Day care dapat menjadi salah satu lokasi deteksi dini pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan orangtua serta terbentuknya program rutin deteksi tumbuh kembang pada mitra. Metode yang diganakan adalah dengan memberikan pendidikan kesehatan atau penyuluhan, pemeriksaan tumbuh kembang pada anak balita dengan instrument Denver II Screening Test Test dan pendampingan agar tersusun program rutin pada mitra. Berdasarkan hasil deteksi dini terdapat 2 orang anak kemungkinan terjadi keterlambatan perkembangan aspek Bahasa dan 1 orang kemungkinan terjadi keterlambatan aspek Personal Sosial. Disamping hal tersebut, setelah dilakukan Pendidikan Kesehatan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan orangtua terkait deteksi dini tumbuh kembang anak dan keberlanjutan program deteksi dini dapat dilakukan oleh pengurus day care. Sebagian besar anak di Day Care The Puri Astuti menunjukkan hasil pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang normal, meskipun terdapat sebagian kecil kemungkinan mengalami perkembangan pada salah satu aspek perkembangan. Pengetahuan orangtua yang meningkat diharapkan dapat meningkatan proses stimulasi pada anak. Keberlangsungan program deteksi dini pertumbuhan dan perkembangan di lokasi mitra dapat membantu untuk menentukan status pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak sehingga intervensi yang sesuai kebutuhan anak dapat diberikan. Kata Kunci: Denver II Screening Test, Deteksi Tumbuh Kembang, Pendidikan Kesehatan  ABSTRACT Assessment and follow-up of children's growth and development has the aim of early detection of potential growth barriers and developmental delays in children so that when potential growth and development disorders are found, intervention can be given as early as possible. Daycare can be a location for early detection of child growth and development.  This program was expected to increase parents' knowledge and establish a routine growth and development detection program for partners.  The method used providing health education or counseling, checking the growth and development of children under five using the Denver II Screening Test instrument, and assisting in arranging a routine program for partners.  Based on the results of early detection, two children may have delays in the development of language aspects, and one person may have delays in personal and social aspects. Apart from this, after Health Education was carried out, there was an increase in parents' knowledge regarding the early detection of children's growth and development, and daycare administrators could carry out the continuation of the early detection program.  Most children at The Puri Astuti Day Care show average growth and development results, although there is a little possibility of experiencing progress in one aspect of development. Increased parental knowledge can increase the stimulation process in children. The continuation of early growth and development detection programs at partner locations can help to determine the status of a child's growth and development so that interventions that suit the child's needs can be provided. Keywords: Denver II Screening Test, Growth and Development Detection, Health Education
