Abstract

Kebersihan lingkungan adalah kunci untuk hidup sehat. Setiap orang menginginkan hidup sehat, sehngga perlu diadakan kegiatan dalam mendorong warga untuk beradaptasi dengan gaya hidup yang sehat. Salah satu pola yang dapat dilakukan yaitu kampanye kebersihan lingkungan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan tindakan masyarakat. Kampanye ini memiliki tiga tujuan utama, yaitu: 1) meningkatkan kesadaran mengenai manfaat dari hidup bersih serta dampaknya terhadap kesehatan masyarakat 2) memberikan pemahaman tentang berbagai dampak negatif lingkungan sebagai akibat dari banjir, dan 3) memberikan aksi lapangan dalam membantu masyarakat dalam pembersihan lingkungan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah dala pemberian materi, tanya jawab dan aksi lapangan serta pemberian sumbangan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukan kebersihan lingkungan perlu dilakukan secara rutin untuk mengantisipasi terhadap penyakit sebagai dampak dari banjir bencana banjir. Kegiatan ini juga perlu dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dan melibatkan berbagai pihak untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang sehat, serta berkomitmen untuk tetap menjaga dan memelihara kebersihan lingkungannya

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the erosion hazard level in the Wairutung Watershed. The land unit in this study was generated from the overlaying land use maps, slope maps, and soil types maps.  The class of vulnerability was determined based on the sum of the parameters' rating results using a computer-based Geographic Information System (GIS) with the ArcGIS program, which was integrated with the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) model. The results indicated the division of 4 classes of landslide hazards consisting of a very light class with an area of ​​2,900.865 ha spread over land units with alluvial soil types. The medium type, with a total area of ​​3,683.285 ha, is spread over land units with podzolic soil types. Heavy type with a total area of ​​1,458.367 ha and the whole area is spread over land units with podzolic and Litosol soil types. The erosion hazard level is very heavy, with a total area of ​​421.97 ha and is spread over land units with Podzolic and Litosol soil types.

Abstract

This study aims to target the threat and risk of flooding in Sirimau District, Ambon City from a multi-criteria perspective using a Geographic Information System (GIS). Important flood hazard characteristics include land use, elevation, slope, distance from rivers, soil, and rainfall. Two risk factors, namely population density and land use as well as flood hazard characteristics are used in flood risk analysis. Map aggregation procedure for flood risk and hazard analysis uses the Weighted Linear Combination (WLC) approach. The results of the flood hazard at the study site revealed that the flood hazard category was very high and high, namely 12.26%, and the flood hazard category was very low and low, namely 87.84% and only. The results of the flood risk in the research location revealed that the flood risk with very high and high-risk categories was around 17.28%, and very low and flood low-risk categories (82.77%). This is because the Sirimau District is mostly dominated by hilly and mountainous areas.

Abstract

Sekolah Siaga Bencana sebagai solusi dalam mereduksi dampak dari bencana terhadap kelompok rentan, terutama anak-anak di sekolah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai bencana longsor serta kesiapsiagaan untuk menghadapi bencana melalui program Sekolah Siap Bencana (SSB). Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 16-18 Maret 2023 dan bertempat pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri 1 Desa Batu Merah dengan jumlah peserta kegiatan sebanyak 42 siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Geografi. Metode kegiatan menggunakan ceramah melalui penyuluhan maupun praktik simulasi evakuasi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman siswa tentang bencana longsor dan kesiapsiagaan meningkat setelah mengikuti pelatihan sehingga dapat melakukan evakuasi dengan aman dan efektif. Pelatihan program SSB perlu terus disosialisasikan dan didukung oleh pihak-pihak terkait untuk memastikan kesiapsiagaan dan mitigasi bencana longsor yang optimal.

Abstract

The Treffinger Model is an instructional approach developed with the primary goal of stimulating creativity and building process skills skills in students. This study aims to assess the extent to which the Treffinger Model enhances process skills abilities and student learning outcomes in addressing complex geographical challenges. A quantitative approach, specifically quasi-experimental design, was adopted to compare the effectiveness of the Treffinger Model with conventional teaching methods. The research involved two groups of eighth-grade students, with one group taught using the Treffinger Model and the other group through conventional methods. Data were collected for process skills and learning outcomes through pre-test and post-test assessments. The findings of this research indicate that the Treffinger Model has a significant positive impact on students' process skills and learning outcomes. The analysis of process skills reveals that students exposed to the Treffinger Model demonstrated improved abilities in observation, communication, grouping, measurement, drawing conclusions, and prediction. Additionally, the analysis of learning outcomes reveals that students taught with the Treffinger Model achieved higher average scores compared to those taught using conventional methods. The novelty of this research lies in its exploration of innovative pedagogical approaches and their impact on students' process skills abilities to comprehend and analyze geographical concepts more deeply. The benefit to the advancement of knowledge is the potential to increase students' interest and produce a generation of individuals who are more aware and knowledgeable about geographical issues.

Abstract

The development of sustainable settlements requires land suitability analysis. This study aims to analyze land use based on satellite imagery, land suitability classes and criteria for settlements, as well as limiting factors and development priorities. The methods used include qualitative descriptive analysis for spatial analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis to explain the ranking based on land units. The study utilizes Landsat 8 data, administrative maps, soil types, and rock data. Tools used include a compass, camera, and GPS. Data collection is obtained through surveys, satellite imagery, and relevant documents. Data processing tools include ArcGIS 9.3, Er Mapper 7.0, and Global Mapper 15.0 software. Data is collected through field measurements and analyzed based on ranking and overlay techniques. The study results show that land use classification, including geometric and radiometric correction and maximum likelihood classification, demonstrates good accuracy. The classes and criteria for suitable settlement land are predominantly categorized as highly unsuitable, covering an area of 23,592.48 hectares, while the highly suitable category covers an area of 6,033.39 hectares. Settlement development priorities are categorized as Priority I covering an area of 3,181.34 hectares; Priority II, covering an area of 2,852.05 hectares; and Priority III, covering an area of 8,237.89 hectares. The study reveals the existence of settlement development in problematic areas, covering an area of 204.19 hectares. This phenomenon can be explained by the geographical conditions of Kota Ambon, which is primarily hilly, making it the preferred choice for residents in fulfilling their housing needs. Therefore, local governments need to strictly enforce regional regulations to preserve land and prevent potential impacts.

Abstract

Sampah plastik di pantai merupakan masalah global yang mengancam lingkungan dan kesehatan manusia. Dalam upaya mengatasi masalah ini, diperlukan strategi pengelolaan sampah yang efektif, terutama di daerah pesisir yang rentan terhadap dampak sampah plastik. Salah satu strategi yang dapat diterapkan adalah daur ulang kreatif, yang dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi sampah dan mengurangi jumlah sampah yang dibuang ke lingkungan. Pelaksanaan sosialisasi dan kegiatan pelatihan yang ditujukan terhadap masyarakat, terutama sekitar Pantai Natsepa, terdiri dari perencanaan program tersebut meliputi observasi dan perekrutan peserta pelatihan, pelaksanaan sosialisasi dan pelaporan pelaksanaan program mencakup evaluasi terhadap kegiatan yang sesuai dengan pengtahapan kriteria. Hasil kegiatan Pelatihan dan sosialisasi pengabdian berhasil dilaksanakan yang dapat dilihat dari hasil karya kerajinan yang terbuat dari bahan plastik yang berhasil dibuat. Kegiatan pengelolaan sampah diperlukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, eksplorasi, dan kreativitas dalam menciptakan benda baru yang bermanfaat sehingga merupakan tindakan konkret dalam mengurangi sampah plastik dan menyelamatkan pantai.

Abstract

Learning is a cognitive process that enables students to engage in critical thinking, interact with information, and subsequently apply their knowledge to solve issues.   The dynamic classroom approach enhances students' active learning, fosters student motivation, and promotes collaborative interactions among students, reducing conflicts and fostering discipline in both the classroom and the school. This study examines the Moving class model, teacher pedagogic competence, motivation, and learning discipline using the SmartPLS application-based Structural Equation Model (SEM). The location in this study was a state senior high school in Ambon, with samples obtained by simple random sampling of 41 students for the experimental class and 40 for the control class. The results obtained were that the validity and reliability tests on the outer model showed a value of Standardized Loading Factors (SLF) 0.7, Construct Reliability (CR) 0.5, and Average Variance Extracted (AVE) 0.5, so it was said to be valid and reliable. In contrast, in the Inner model, the dependent variable simultaneously influences learning motivation (Y) with an R Square value of 0.672 and learning discipline (Z) of 0.506, so the model is categorized as moderate. The Goodness of Fit (GoF) index shows Q square 0 and RMSE 0.05 and has predictive relevance indicating relevant exogenous latent variables. The significance test for proving the hypothesis showed that all variables had a positive and significant effect with a t-statistic 1.96 and a p-value 0.05. Limitations in this study include the arrangement of students, fluency in learning, and utilization of learning resources. As a continuation of this research, other research variables can be studied regarding personality, professionalism, and social competence and their influence on learning outcomes, self-efficacy, etcetera.

Abstract

Banjir merupakan bencana yang sering terjadi di Indonesia dan memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap masyarakat dan lingkungan. Dalam konteks ini, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis mendalam terhadap bahaya dan risiko banjir yang terjadi di Kecamatan Sirimau, Kota Ambon. Metode yang diaplikasikan dalam penelitian ini adalah Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) yang terintegrasi dengan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG). Dalam analisis ini, pertimbangan multikriteria digunakan untuk mempertimbangkan berbagai faktor, seperti penggunaan lahan, kemiringan lereng, jenis tanah, pola curah hujan, jarak dari sungai, dan elevasi lahan. Data yang digunakan diperoleh dari pengamatan lapangan, citra satelit Landsat, catatan curah hujan, serta data elevasi lahan, yang semuanya diintegrasikan dalam proses analisis. Analisis terhadap bahaya banjir secara khusus difokuskan pada identifikasi potensi terjadinya banjir berdasarkan faktor-faktor fisik. Sementara itu, analisis terhadap risiko melibatkan penilaian terhadap dampak potensial yang mungkin ditimbulkan oleh banjir pada berbagai aspek. Prosedur agregasi peta untuk analisis risiko dan bahaya banjir menggunakan pendekatan Weighted Linear Combination (WLC). Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat dua kategori tingkat bahaya banjir, yakni kategori sangat tinggi dan tinggi sebesar 12,26%, sementara kategori sangat rendah dan rendah mencapai 87,84%. Dalam hal evaluasi risiko banjir, kategori risiko yang termasuk sangat tinggi dan tinggi mencakup sekitar 17,28%, sedangkan kategori risiko yang termasuk sangat rendah dan rendah mencapai angka 82,77%. Studi ini memberikan masukan bagi pemerintah daerah, dalam merumuskan kebijakan terkait dengan mitigasi dan pengelolaan banjir. Pendekatan yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini memiliki potensi untuk diadopsi dalam analisis risiko bencana lainnya, dengan tujuan pengambilan keputusan yang lebih terinformasi dan rasional.

Abstract

The rapid development of GIS geospatial information technology demands proficiency from geography teachers, but teachers tend to have minimal knowledge of the technology, and even the impression that teaching and learning activities are not being used optimally. I have. GIS geospatial information technology is very useful in describing environmental problems, metropolitan areas, floods, and various activities to establish trends, determine best locations, and identify patterns and models. The purpose of this activity is the enhancement and application of geographic information technology based on geographic information systems for geography teachers in the form of training and instruction, including data entry, management, analysis and presentation. In carrying out this activity, the participants, while receiving a strengthening of GIS concepts and GIS components, created maps of slopes, elevations and landslides in operational demonstration activities, then classified and scored them, and evaluated them. Click Overlay (Overlay) to create a new map with the new classification. The results of this activity show better control as well as higher enthusiasm and responsiveness during the training activity. The whole operation went smoothly. In addition, GIS education can enhance the effectiveness of geography education through application in schools.
