Abstract

This study explores the role of outcome expectations in mediating the influence of prior experience on social entrepreneurship intention in the creative economy sector of Indonesia. Despite the increasing interest in social entrepreneurship, research on the factors driving the intention to become a social entrepreneur remains scarce. This study employed the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) as a theoretical framework to investigate social entrepreneurship as a career choice, focusing on the influence of outcome expectations on social entrepreneurship intention. A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted with 290 creative economy actors in Bandung through questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that positive outcome expectations mediate the influence of prior experience on social entrepreneurship intention, highlighting the importance of outcome expectations in shaping social entrepreneurship intention. Prior experience in addressing social issues indirectly drives social entrepreneurship intention through positive outcome expectations. These findings underscore the need to cultivate positive outcome expectations in social entrepreneurship training programs to enhance entrepreneurial self-efficacy and motivation. However, this study is limited to creative economy actors in Bandung, affecting its generalizability. Future research could explore additional mediating variables or apply this model to different entrepreneurial sectors. This study contributes to the literature by integrating SCCT into social entrepreneurship, offering a novel perspective on how prior experience shapes entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between compensation and employee retention, with a focus on the mediating roles of Blue Ocean Leadership and Employee Work Engagement among Generation Z employees in West Java. Grounded in Social Exchange Theory, the research highlights how compensation influences retention directly and indirectly. Using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), data were collected from 217 respondents representing various industries. The results reveal that compensation has a significant positive impact on employee retention. Furthermore, Blue Ocean Leadership and Employee Work Engagement mediate this relationship, though their effects are relatively limited. The findings underscore the importance of integrating financial incentives with innovative leadership practices and engagement strategies to improve retention rates. Practical implications suggest that organizations should enhance compensation frameworks while fostering inclusive leadership and meaningful engagement initiatives. Future research should explore additional mediators and longitudinal impacts to deepen understanding of these dynamics.

Abstract

Education in entrepreneurship is a method of instilling and reinforcing entrepreneurial mindsets and routines. The teaching factory concept is a comprehensive approach to education. It is predicted that students would be better prepared for entrepreneurial endeavors if they are exposed to factory learning in the classroom. The teaching factory learning approach is supported by the application of entrepreneurship learning in shaping competence via industry-related school environmental units. This essay analyzes how the teaching factory learning model and entrepreneurship education affect students' ability to think creatively and take initiative. This study used a descriptive verification technique for its investigation

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of perceptions of the teaching profession and self-efficacy on the interest in becoming an economics teacher, with learning motivation as a mediating variable. The research employed a quantitative approach and was conducted on 55 students of the Economics Education Study Program at Langlangbuana University. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method through the SmartPLS 4.1.1.2 application. The results showed that perceptions of the teaching profession had a significant effect on learning motivation but did not have a significant effect on the interest in becoming a teacher. Likewise, self-efficacy had a significant effect on learning motivation but did not significantly affect the interest in becoming a teacher. Learning motivation had a significant effect on the interest in becoming a teacher. Moreover, learning motivation significantly mediated the relationship between perceptions of the teaching profession and the interest in becoming a teacher, as well as between self-efficacy and the interest in becoming a teacher. These findings confirmed that learning motivation was a key factor in fostering students’ interest in becoming economics teachers. Therefore, it could be concluded that hypotheses H2 and H4 were rejected, while H1, H3, H5, H6, and H7 were accepted in this study. This research contributed substantially to the development of interest in becoming an economics teacher through a deeper understanding of the roles of perceptions of the teaching profession, self-efficacy, and learning motivation as psychological factors that could be strengthened to cultivate students’ commitment and enthusiasm toward the teaching profession in the field of economics.

Abstract

The organization must preserve balance by establishing mutually beneficial relationships with its employees, who are its most valuable assets. Several essential aspects are required to maintain this equilibrium, including organizational commitment, employee engagement, and information exchange. We use social exchange theory to investigate the effects of commitment, knowledge sharing, and employee engagement on civil servant performance outcomes (ASN). This study uses a cross-sectional design and includes 115 civil servants from Tasikmalaya. Data analysis utilizes Stata/MP 17.0 for descriptive, bivariable, and multivariable analyses. The research findings indicate a positive impact of employee engagement, affective and normative commitment, and knowledge sharing on ASN performance. However, the negative effect of tenure exceeding five years and continuance commitment on ASN performance is negative. These findings illustrate that while employees are generally expected to have high organizational commitment, continuous commitment to material benefits may be detrimental. The results serve as a basis for discussion among researchers to conduct further longitudinal studies for more accurate conclusions.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to bring together the scattered literature on knowledge sharing, and analyze it to provide a better understanding. The review went through three stages: establishing the review protocol, conducting the review, and reporting the review. This research systematically reviews 110 articles in three research streams: (1) drivers of knowledge sharing (2) knowledge sharing processes, and (3) results of knowledge sharing. This research finds that organizations are advised to design knowledge sharing processes in line with their overall business goals, strategies and resources to maximize the benefits of knowledge sharing.
