Abstract

The perpose of this research is  to know the  characteristic of atsiri oil of cinnamon's young and old leaves. this research is conducted experimentally by using some materials, such as cinnamon's young and old leaves, aquades, sodium sulfate anhydrous, and ethanol 70%. The equipments are water distillation devenger type, gourd flute, dessicator, measuring glass, refractormeter, reaction's tube, drop pippette, inject, analitic neraca. The result of this research can be concluded that the yield of Atsiri oil of Cinnamon's young leaves is 0.013% and the yield of Atsiri oil of Cinnamon's old leaves is 0.080% . the Cinnamon's old leaves has bright's index 1.257 , yellow colored with solubility in ethanol 70% is 1:2 (pure). It's related to the standard of Essential Oil Association of USA No.56   Keywords: Cinnamon's young leaves; cinnamon's old leaves; essential oil.

Abstract

Being able to read in English is very important. Success in reading is the most necessary because it is a basic tool of education. Based on the syllabus of Islamic Senior high School Hidayatul Mubtadiin (MAHM), it is hoped that students should comprehend monolog texts in narrative, spoof and hortatory exposition forms well. After doing preliminary observation at MAHM, some of the students of the second year still had low ability in their reading comprehension. The dominant factors influencing their low reading comprehension are the lack of vocabulary and teaching strategy of reading comprehension. From the two of dominant factors, the researcher is interested to investigate about teaching reading comprehension. Thus, the researcher conducted a research on the effect of Multipass strategy on Reading comprehension. This research investigates students’ reading comprehension taught by using multipass strategy at MAHM Siak Sri Inderapura. The design of this study was Quasi-experimental research by post-test only. The subject of this research was the second year students of MAHM. The total population was 42 students, and the sample was 42 students. Data were collected by using a test. Then, the data were analyzed by using t-test formula. It was found that there was a significant effect of using multi pass strategy on students’ reading comprehension at MAHM.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the village of Meskom. The purpose of this study is to identify the values contained in zapin dance and its preservation efforts in Meskom village. This research is a field study conducted in Zapin village, Meskom village, Bengkalis Regency. The subjects of this study were zapin traditional figures in zapin village, bengkalis regency, and the values contained in zapin dance and its preservation efforts in meskom village, Bengkalis regency were the subject of this study. In this study, the author assumes the population consists of 1 studio leader. The goal is to preserve zapin dance during kut and cultural festivals. Last year, other countries also came to this training ground. He came with a specific purpose: He wanted to learn Zapin's dance. These people introduced us to their culture and we reintroduced our culture.

Abstract

This paper discusses the result of an analyzing the ability of undergraduate students about the difficulty of identifying simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, and compound-complex sentence. A descriptive quantitative approach and a descriptive qualitative approach  are used in this study. Descriptive quantitative are used to see the student  score test in analyzing simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, and compound-complex sentence. Descriptive qualitative are used to see the result of students interview in their difficulty of identifying simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, and compound-complex sentence. This study shows that student average is 11.84 from 20 point, the median is 12 from 20 point, and the range is 6 (as a lower score) and 17 (as a highest score) from 20 point. Most of the students still have a difficulty in identifying the formation of simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, and compound-complex sentence. Especially because they still don’t understand about connectors in the four types of sentences, such as subordinate connectors. Therefore students are required to practice writing in order to make it easier forming a simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, and compound-complex sentence.

Abstract

This mentoring is motivated by a leather bag entrepreneur, Mr. Agus, who is currently related to competition between local products and imported products. Imported products produce products that are the same shape as local crafts, only the materials are different, but people's interest is more interested in choosing imported products because the prices are more affordable. This mentoring aims to analyze the marketing and branding strategies that must be implemented by Mr. Agus, a leather bag craftsman in Dukuh Tengah, Nambangrejo Village in facing competition with imported products. Globalization makes it easier to access imported products, so Mr. Agus faces a big challenge to maintain their market. The research method used is qualitative with the ABCD approach with existing asset developers. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the mentoring, product differentiation through material quality, unique design, and local cultural values ​​are the main keys to maintaining the existence of local leather bag products. In addition, the use of social media as a branding and marketing tool has proven effective in increasing brand awareness and expanding market reach. Recommendations are given for Mr. Agus to focus more on developing a strong brand identity and improving digital marketing skills to compete more effectively in the global market.

Abstract

The Tepuk Tepung Tawar tradition is one of the traditional customs of the Malay community, especially in Rupat District, Pangkalan Nyirih Village. Fresh flour is divided into two types, namely in events such as weddings, haircuts, circumcision, erection of houses and moving. at the same time Goods or equipment purchased In general, for example cars, motorbikes, and canoes. Malay society is a society that is passionate about upholding cultural values as a whole, including truth, justice, and respect for all differences. Especially the Malay community in the village of Nyirih Base, the people really care about and uphold customs. This study aims to find out how the Flour Tradition is in Pangkalan Nyirih Village, Dusun V Sei Cuna, Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency, and to find out how the flour tradition is from an Islamic perspective. Qualitative field research is the approach taken. As a result, data will be collected through interviews with community leaders (traditional leaders) in Pangkalan Nyirih Village, Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency with the title Bargaining Tradition in the Islamic Perspective of the Riau Malay Community. This research is included in the analysis description research. In this study, researchers used critical analysis or also known as critical discourse analysis. Abstract

Celebrating Eid al-Fitr after fasting in the month of Ramadan with extended family is a routine for some Indonesian people. In this Eid Al-Fitr there is a tradition that has become entrenched, namely the Bara'an Tradition. Bara'an is the right moment to stay in touch and apologize to one another. Bara'an is also considered as a place for productive communication between various components of the nation which is carried out with joy and is formed ceremonially followed by a group of citizens from various religions, races and ethnicities. The purpose of this research is to find out the values ​​in the Baraan Tradition. To answer this question, this research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Because using descriptive qualitative methods, the authors examine the values ​​of the Baraan tradition with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with the people of Kembung Luar Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency. Abstract

Pengujian perangkat lunak adalah aspek krusial dalam riset untuk memastikan mutu dan perkembangan aplikasi. Dalam konteks pengujian sistem informasi akademik, pentingnya desain yang baik memungkinkan deteksi kesalahan yang cepat, menghemat waktu dalam proses pengujian, dan membangun kepercayaan pengguna terhadap aplikasi. Penelitian terkait mengidentifikasi masalah dalam aplikasi, seperti kesalahan input informasi, yang memicu strategi pengujian yang difokuskan pada memastikan kesesuaian dan akurasi informasi. Metode pengujian seperti Black Box Testing dengan Boundary Value Analysis digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kualitas aplikasi dan mengidentifikasi area untuk perbaikan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi berhasil hanya sekitar 60% dari jumlah percobaan maka penting dilakukan peningkatan kualitas aplikasi, dengan fokus pada memastikan bahwa aplikasi berfungsi sebagaimana mestinya dan dapat mengatasi berbagai skenario penggunaan

Abstract

Perjudian kini semakin marak seiring dengan kemajuan zaman. Judi online merupakan salah satu contoh yang muncul akibat pesatnya perkembangan teknologi. Hal yang paling menggemparkan di Indonesia adalah banyaknya remaja yang menjadi pengguna judi online. Para remaja yang seharusnya menjadi generasi penerus dan harapan bangsa justru terjerumus dalam praktik negatif perjudian online yang dapat berujung pada tindakan kriminal seperti pencurian, mabuk-mabukan, tawuran, dan lain sebagainya. Selain di kalangan remaja, perjudian online juga merambah hingga ke kepala keluarga sehingga menimbulkan dampak negatif seperti kecanduan dan rusaknya keharmonisan keluarga. Bahkan yang paling parah dapat berujung pada pembunuhan. Oleh karena itu, dilakukanlah kegiatan sosialisasi tentang bahaya judi online kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini dilakukan dengan metode pembelajaran yang meliputi penyampaian materi, diskusi, dan tanya jawab langsung kepada peserta yang merupakan ibu rumah tangga dan ibu-ibu PKK Desa Tegalrejo. Hasil dari kegiatan ini terbilang sukses, terbukti dari antusiasme para ibu-ibu dalam berpartisipasi terutama pada sesi tanya jawab yang menjadi sumber ilmu baru untuk menghindarkan anak atau suami mereka dari terjerumus dalam perjudian online.

Abstract

Social media has been widely used in many aspects of life, including education. Many teachers nowadays have made use of social media. This study aims to explore the perceptions of pre-service English teachers on the use of social media in teaching English. This study was a survey research with a quantitative and qualitative approach. The data were collected through an interview questionnaire via Google form from 39 pre-service English teachers now studying at STAIN Bengkalis. The result showed that pre-service English teachers have positive perceptions on the use of social media in teaching English. It can be seen from the finding that 38 out of 39 respondents would like to use social media when they become teachers in the future. In their perception, WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook are the most useful social media to be used in teaching English. Incorporating social media into education have some benefits, such as: encompassing enhanced comprehension, greater student self-sufficiency, boosted enthusiasm, efficiency in terms of costs, and the promotion of innovation among teachers. Nevertheless, it is important to recognize the hurdles associated with ensuring dependable internet access, fostering digital literacy, fostering creativity when designing lessons, and effectively managing how students utilize these resources. Findings from this study strengthen the fact that social media must be used in teaching and learning process and urge faculty to preparing future teachers with satisfied ability to use information technology or social media in teaching.
