Abstract

Graduate students show high levels of anxiety in studying Statistics; This anxiety affects their appreciation of statistics courses. This is urgent to research because there are differences between theory, expectations, and reality in the field. So, it is necessary to research to find out the appropriate pedagogical behavior of Statistics teachers to reduce postgraduate student anxiety. The research method used is a descriptive case study approach woven into a sequential explanatory design. The research subjects were lecturers and postgraduate students. Primary data was obtained from 99 postgraduate students regarding their level of anxiety in the field of Statistics and their experiences with lecturers' pedagogical behavior. Additionally, 12 graduate students were interviewed about their pedagogical behaviors that reduced their anxiety in Statistics. To triangulate primary data, evidence of assessment of lecturers' teaching practices was obtained from the university's Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance Unit. The results and findings show that there are 17 strategic lecturer pedagogical behaviors in general behavior (affective factors and pedagogical practices) and specific pedagogy (cognitive factors) which reduce postgraduate students' statistics anxiety and increase positive attitudes towards statistics studies. This is the heuristic contribution that this research offers to the application of processing efficiency theory. Therefore, the introduction of these pedagogical behaviors and their openness during the teaching of Statistics will help reduce the anxiety level of graduate students in the field of Statistics.

This research was conducted to understand the role of the game given by an educator to students, whether the game in learning motivates students or not. The method used in this study uses a quantitative method that aims to examine the role of educational games through statistical techniques by collecting research variables using google form media and then imported and processed into the SPSS application and tested using the One Way Anova method. Based on the data obtained, it shows that the role of educational games in increasing student motivation and involvement is very influential, which is a good learning strategy that can have an effect in the teaching and learning process so that the role of the game can foster enthusiasm or motivation and student involvement in learning so that students become excited about learning and are not easily bored. Abstract

The Wonogiri Regency Government has a website called www.wonogirikab.go.id, which every day provides information in the form of news, appeals, or announcements. The content presented is in the form of activities by Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), the regent's agenda, and Wonogiri Regional government programs. From this, the media needs to filter incoming information through a strategy called gatekeeping. This gatekeeping strategy aims to reduce media inaccuracies in presenting news. In this research, the author uses the gatekeeping theory of Bruce Westley and Malcolm McLean which emphasizes the role of a gatekeeper. Gatekeepers are individuals who carry out gatekeeping from pre-production to post-production of online news. Research method through case studies. Data collection techniques include documentation, interviews, and observation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of research in the field showed that in the gatekeeping process from pre-production to post-production of news on the website www.wonogirikab.goid, the duties of a reporter and editor were only carried out by one person. Pre-production starts with determining news criteria, team discussions, and on-location coverage. The production process is carried out by cameramen and reporters when looking for information. Lastly, post-production is the editing stage by the editor and approval by the Head of the Wonogiri Regency Communication and Information Service.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of interpersonal communication, religious content, and understanding of religious moderation values on students' spiritual behavior. This study was conducted using a quantitative research method. The subjects of this study were students of SMA Virgo Fidelis Bawen with a sample of 99 students. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1-5. The results of the validity and reliability tests of the instrument showed that the instruments used in this study were valid and reliable. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and regression analysis. The normality test showed that the data on the four research variables were normally distributed. The multicollinearity test showed that there were no symptoms of multicollinearity in the independent variables. The heteroscedasticity test showed that the distribution of points on the scatter plot did not have a clear pattern so that it could be interpreted that there was no heteroscedasticity. Thus, all the requirements for regression analysis were met. The results showed that intrapersonal communication had a significant effect on students' spiritual behavior with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.488 (sig. 0.000). Religious content has a significant effect on students' spiritual behavior with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.585 (sig. 0.000). Understanding of religious moderation has a significant effect on students' spiritual behavior with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.821 (sig. 0.000). Intrapersonal communication, religious content, and understanding of religious moderation are proven to have a significant simultaneous effect on students' spiritual behavior. This is indicated by the results of the F-test of 194.393 with a significance of 0.000. Intrapersonal communication has an effective contribution (SE) of 4% and a relative contribution (SR) of 5%, religious content has an effective contribution (SE) of 15% and a relative contribution (SR) of 17%, while understanding of religious moderation has an effective contribution (SE) of 55% and a relative contribution (SR) of 64%. The equation of the regression line formed is Y = 0.080X1 + 0.948X2 + 0.700X3 – 25.547.
