Abstract

In the internet of things, one of the current developments is smartphone-based water automation which makes it easier for users to control water. The working principle of this research is the water contained in the water storage tank if the water level is below 25 cm then the water pump (water input) will be active until the water is above 25 cm. Then the solenoid valve (water output) can be opened and closed via the Blynk application. When the solenoid is opened, the water in the holding tank will pass through filters 1 and 2 into the filter reservoir. The water in the filtered reservoir will measure the level of acidity and turbidity and then display it on the Blynk application. The results of this study, the water filter can reduce the level of turbidity of water by 0.568 NTU and increase the level of acidity by 0.132. The PH sensor used has an accuracy rate of 93.53%. The Turbidity sensor or turbidity has an average of 1.00 NTU in measuring clean water (Aqua).

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with Solar Power Plants (PLTS) to enhance electrical grid stability in Indonesia, where 90% of electricity is from fossil fuels. The intermittent nature of PLTS often destabilizes the network, causing frequency hunting or blackouts. Using Etap 12.6 software, simulations showed that adding BESS to hybrid PLTS-PLTD systems significantly mitigates these issues. For instance, a 50% drop in PLTS power without BESS required a 55% increase in PLTD power, but with BESS, this increase was only 34%. Thus, BESS is crucial for stabilizing renewable energy integration and supporting Indonesia’s Net-Zero Emissions goal. Highlights: BESS Stabilizes Power: Reduces impact of PLTS power fluctuations on PLTD. Simulation Insight: 50% PLTS drop increases PLTD by 34% with BESS. Net-Zero Goal: BESS supports Indonesia’s renewable energy and emission targets. Keywords: Renewable Energy, Solar Power, Battery Storage, Electrical Grid Stability, Indonesia

Abstract

The increase in household electricity consumption in Indonesia poses a major challenge to efficient and sustainable energy management. This research aims to develop a household electricity consumption status prediction system based on Mamdani fuzzy logic using the Python programming language. The system was designed to classify electricity usage into “efficient” or “inefficient” categories based on three main input variables: electrical power, usage duration, and number of electronic devices. The design process included fuzzification, rule base construction, Mamdani inference, and defuzzification, with the final results integrated into Google Sheets. System validation was performed by comparing 55 predicted results to actual labeled data. Performance evaluation using confusion matrix analysis showed an overall accuracy of 80% (44 out of 55 data) and a Mean Squared Error (MSE) value of 0.20. The main advantage of this model is its perfect sensitivity (recall) (100%) in detecting inefficient classes, as evidenced by a False Negative (FN) value of 0. The system successfully identified all 39 actual inefficient cases, although there were 11 efficiency cases that were classified as inefficient (False Positive). This research contributes to providing a precise digital tool that can increase public awareness of energy efficiency and support the control of household electricity consumption.

Abstract

The transition to renewable energy is a global effort to combat climate change and provide sustainable energy. One of the technologies that is developing is the use of solar power plants (SPP), which are capable of providing clean and environmentally friendly energy. This study aims to analyse the performance of the PLTS system in operating two types of electric motors, namely DC (Direct Current) motors and AC (Alternating Current) motors, with the assistance of an inverter. The experiment was conducted using an off-grid PV system with batteries and a solar charge controller (SCC). Measurements were taken of the voltage, current, and power of each system. The results showed that the AC motor produced greater power (86.3 W) after passing through the inverter compared to the DC motor, which only produced 18.4 W. This study provides insights into selecting the appropriate motor type for solar power systems to ensure efficiency and support SDG 7 targets.

Abstract

Abstract Natural disasters often occur on this earth, especially in Indonesia. There are several types of disasters that occur, namely: geological disasters, hydrometeorological disasters and others. This natural disaster caused quite a lot of casualties and not a few material. Good post-natural disaster management is necessary to minimize the number of victims of a disaster. One form of handling this natural disaster is by providing electrical energy that can be used to provide lighting and communication systems. The provision of electrical energy consists of several integrated systems to form a compact, simple and efficient unit. This tool consists of a Solar Power Generation system, GenSet system, inverter system, Change Over Switch system and Global Positioning System system. This tool is named SUNPO which stands for Sun Power or Solar Power. With this SUNPO, it can function as a power supply to power direct current loads and alternating current loads. If the solar power is not enough to charge the battery then the system can be operated with a GenSet. Meanwhile, to find out the position of SUNPO, a Global Positioning System is also installed. Highlights: Effective Disaster Response: Efficient post-disaster management is crucial to minimize casualties and damage caused by natural disasters, especially in Indonesia. SUNPO Tool Integration: The SUNPO (Sun Power) tool integrates solar power generation, GenSet backup, inverter, changeover switch, and GPS systems to provide a reliable and compact solution for electricity supply in disaster-stricken areas. Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country, which gets a lot of sunshine every year. Harvesting energy from solar heat is an alternative solution to obtain renewable and environmentally friendly electrical energy. The purpose of this research is to design and test the temperature and flow of the working fluid of a solar collector for energy harvesting. The method used is true experiment research by making a solar collector prototype. Measurement of the temperature and pressure of the working fluid is carried out by varying the power of the heating lamp as a substitute for sunlight in the test. The experimental results show that the greater the heat energy received by the solar collector, the higher the temperature of the working fluid and the resulting pressure during the same test. The highest temperature recorded for the liquid coming out of the solar collector reaches 63.6 oC with a maximum pressure difference of 19.6 Pascals. The results of this test will be followed by testing the flow rate of the working fluid to determine the power potential of the working fluid for harvesting energy. Highlights: Efficiency Enhancement: Optimizing solar collector design for increased heat energy absorption and efficient energy conversion. Temperature-Pressure Correlation: Investigating the relationship between heat energy, working fluid temperature, and pressure for better energy yield. Flow Rate Analysis: Assessing working fluid flow to gauge energy potential and inform effective energy harvesting strategies. Keywords: solar collector, temperature, fluid pressure, energy harvesting
