Abstract

This research aimed to analysestudents’ difficulties in mastering vocabularyand the causes of students' difficulties in mastering vocabulary. The Qualitative method was used, with researcher as the main instrument and supporting instruments namely observation, interview and documentation. From the method and data analysis found; 1) Students' difficulties in mastering vocabulary are; pronunciation, the words have many meanings, remembering vocabulary, deficiency of vocabulary, constructing the correct sentence structure, using verbs in simple past tense, understanding the meaning of a new word and writing vocabulary according to the correct spelling. 2) Two factors cause students' difficulties in mastering vocabulary are internal and external. There are seven internal factors; students’ low memory, low interest in learning English, laziness in using dictionaries, lack of motivation, lack of self-confidence, and deficiency of vocabulary. Then, four external factors; inadequate facilities and infrastructure, lack of lighting in the class, lack of learning resources, lack of English speaking activities and teaching methods that are less attractive. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the most students have the same difficulty in mastering vocabulary. Factors that cause this are not only from within the students themselves but also external factors such as the environment around the students.

Abstract

In learning English, vocabulary is one of the language aspects and is the most important component as a communication tool that students must master as a basis for mastering English. Vocabulary means basic knowledge and useful material in the form of words that are always used by students in learning a particular language. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of using the fly swatter game on the learning and vocabulary mastery of class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Metro. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The researcher used the fly swatter game as a teaching technique in the experimental class, while the conventional teaching technique will used in the controlled class. The results of the study using hypothesis testing show that the first test uses a significance level of 5% or a significance level of 0.05. sig. (2-tailed). The t-count (1.420) is lower than the t-table (2,000) with a significance of (0.165) > 0.05. Therefore, it can be said that teaching English vocabulary mastery using the Fly Swatter Game is effective but not significant.

Abstract

Nasyiatul Aisiyah (NA) Cabang Pekalongan, Lampung Timur merupakan organisasi otonom Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah pada kalangan kelompok Perempuan muda keluarga Muhammadiyah yang terletak di kecamatan Pekalongan. Nasyiatul Aisiyah (NA) memiliki potensi potensi SDM yang mumpuni dan produk kewirausahaan hasil karya inovasi bacoprint Perempuan muda Nasyiatul Aisiyah. Namun, dengan potensinya tersebut belum dapat mengoptimalkan pemasaran produk kewirausahaan Batik Ecoprint (Bacoprint) melalui platform digital. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan ketua dan sekretaris, setidaknya terdapat 70% anggotanya telah menggunakan platform digital media sosial instagram. Untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pemasaran produk kewirausahan bacoprint, salah satu cara yang kami terapkan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan bagi kelompok Nasyiatul Aisiyah (NA) dalam melakukan teknik pemasaran bacoprint melalui digital marketing dengan memanfaatkan media sosial. Pelatihan Digital Marketing Bacoprint diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan digital marketing Batik Ecoprint (bacoprint). Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini dengan tatap muka dengan penyampaian materi secara interaktif, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung oleh para peserta. Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukkan keberhasilan yang mampu membuat peserta sangat antusias dan berminat untuk mengikuti kegiatan serupa untuk meningkatkan soft skill mereka. Batik Ecoprint (Bacoprint) Digital Marketing Training Utilizing Social Media of the Pekalongan Nasyiatul Aisiyah Group Abstract Nasyiatul Aisiyah (NA) Pekalongan Branch, East Lampung is an autonomous organization of the Muhammadiyah Association among young women's groups of the Muhammadiyah family located in Pekalongan sub-district. Nasyiatul Aisiyah (NA) has the potential for qualified human resources and entrepreneurial products resulting from the innovative work of Nasyiatul Aisiyah's young women. However, with this potential it has not been possible to optimize the marketing of Batik Ecoprint (Bacoprint) entrepreneurial products via digital platforms. Based on the results of interviews with the chairman and secretary, at least 70% of members have used the digital social media platform Instagram. To increase knowledge and skills in marketing bacoprint entrepreneurial products, one of the methods we apply is by providing training for the Nasyiatul Aisiyah (NA) group in carrying out bacoprint marketing techniques through digital marketing by utilizing social media. It is hoped that the Bacoprint Digital Marketing Training will provide benefits for increasing Batik Ecoprint (bacoprint) digital marketing knowledge and skills. The method used in this training is face-to-face with interactive delivery of material, demonstrations and direct practice by the participants. The results of this training showed success which made participants very enthusiastic and interested in taking part in similar activities to improve their soft skills.

Abstract

Pendekatan pembelajaran di abad 21 menekankan pentingnya menguasai konten, metode pengajaran, dan teknologi. Guru juga dituntut harus aktif  menggunakan teknologi informasi dalam pembelajaran. Tantangan terkini dalam pembelajaran di Era Society 5.0 mendorong guru untuk memiliki keterampilan dalam pemanfaatan TPACK (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemampuan TPACK  calon guru matematika melalui Microteaching Lesson Study (MLS).  Analisis TPACK calon guru merupakan hal penting sebelum melaksanakan pembelajaran yang sebenarnya di dalam kelas pada kemampuan pedagogik, penguasaaan materi,  maupun teknologi. Data yang diperoleh dapat digunakan untuk mengeksplorasi sejauh mana calon guru mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran. Selain untuk melihat sejauh mana calon guru memanfaatkan TPACK dalam pembelajaran, hasil analisis ini juga digunakan  sebagai informasi terkait kemampuan calon guru yang sudah baik maupun yang masih perlu perbaikan dan peningkatan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan TPACK calon guru matematika. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang menempuh mata kuliah microteaching lesson study pada semester genap 2023/2024. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket, dan analisis dokumen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan TPACK pada mahasiswa calon guru matematika sebesar 87,49% (kategori baik sekali).

Abstract

Writing can be said that it is very important for the students, because the students can express their ideas and cxperience in writing form. The teachers should always look for which one suitable technique to be applied to the students, in order to make the students interested in learning writing, they are Draw Label Caption (DLC) and Drill Technique. In this research, the researcher compared DLC and Drill techniques that can be used to improve students’ writing ability. In this experimental research, there were 3 variables. That are 1). Draw Label Caption (DLC) technique as the first independent variable. 2). Drill technique as the second independent variable. 3) Writing skill as the dependent variable. The method that used in this research was test. Students were asked to write the text in English based on predetermined theme. In this study, researcher used pretest and Posttest. Based on the data analysis the researcher got the result of based on the calculation, it was found that: 1) F-ratio = 7.5 and F-table at significance level 1% was 7.08 and at significance 5% was 4.00. At this point the researcher found that F-ratio was bigger than F-table. The researcher concluded that there was difference of students’ English writing ability through DLC and Drill technique. 2) Fratio = 37.7 at the same signifficance level. In other words, there was difference of students’ English writing ability through DLC and Drill technique

Abstract

This project aims to increase students' understanding of Pancasila values and encourage the implementation of the concept of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the school environment. The method for implementing the service program is carried out through four main stages. The planning stage includes notification and permission to partner schools, technical coordination, and socialization of waste utilization. Next are the implementation stage, evaluation stage and reflection stage.This program succeeded in increasing the understanding and skills of class X students in processing organic waste through making ecoenzymes and biopores. The activities carried out between March and May 2024 involve intensive outreach, training and mentoring by a team of service members and students from various study programs. Evaluation shows that most students have a good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and the benefits of ecoenzymes and biopores. The average score for students' understanding of ecoenzymes reached 87.06, while their understanding of biopores was 84.80. These results show the effectiveness of demonstration and practice methods in increasing students' awareness of organic waste management and supporting SDGs goals. Students also showed high enthusiasm in carrying out this project, which has the potential to be implemented as a sustainable lifestyle.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether using word square media can improve the vocabulary mastery of the eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Metro. In this study, researchers conducted classroom action research (CAR) which was carried out in three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this study were 32 students of eleventh grade at SMK Negeri 3 Metro. In collecting data, researchers used pre-test, post-test 1, post-test 2, post-test 3, observing, interview, and questionnaire. The results of the study show that using Word square media can improve stu-dents’ vocabulary mastery at eleventh grade of SMK Negeri 3 Metro, this can be seen in the progress of the pre-test and post-test cycle 1 to cycle 3. the average of pre-test score was 42.31% and the post-test in cycle 1 was 61.37%, the average value in post-test 2 was 75.40% and the average score in cycle 3 was 81.37%. pre-test and post-test cycle 1 to post-test cy-cle 3 there was an increase of 5.97%. it means that the results of the post test have reached indicators of success that can be achieved on the results of this post-test. Students responses in using word square media that have been done can be seen that 93.45% of students gave respones very positive in learning using word square learning media and word square media can be said to be practical and easy to use for students, this can be seen from the enthusiasm of students and their spirits at the first time in using word square media.

Abstract

Translation is the communication of meaning from one language (source language) to other language (target language). It is a process of transferring the ideas, meaning or message obtained from source language into target language. This research was aimed to find out the translation techniques used by the translator in translating subtitle of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings movie. It was aimed to find out the most dominant type of translation technique used in the subtitle. This research method is qualitative research. The theory used to analyze the translation technique is Molina and Albir (2002). The results of this study the total of all translation techniques is 288 consisted of Borrowing 0.34%, Calque 2.43%, Discursive creation 3.81%, Established equivalent 5.20%, Linguistic amplification 6.59%, Linguistic compression 14.23%, Literal translation 49.30%, Modulation 5.90%, Reduction 6.94%, and Transposition 5.20%. From these results, it can be concluded that the most dominant translation technique used by the translator was a literal translation.

Abstract

This reseach is aimed to improve Students Writing Ability through a Whatsapp Group and know how the classroom situation when the students practice their writing ability through the Whatsapp Group. It is a classroom action research undertaken at SMPN 8 Metro in 2020/2021 academic year. The subject of the study was 22 students of the eighth grade. It was completed in two cycles. The criteria of success put in this study, if the students have big interests and high motivation in writing practices through WhatsApp group and get a minimum standard of 60.4 score. The data yielded by conducting classical teaching activity, doing interviews, observations, and tests. The data were analyzed descriptively and simple statistically. The pre-test result showed that the average score gained by the students in the pre-cyclewas less than 60.4(78.12%).Only 5 students (21.88%) got 75 scores, otherwise 17 students (63.64%) were under the passing grade. Then, the students who got score ≥ 75 in post test of cycle 1 were 63.64% or 14 students while 36.36% or 8 students got score < 75. Furthermore, in post test of cycle 2 showed that 85 % of the students got ≥ 75 scores. Furthermore, the classroom situation before the treatment was classified into low category with the mean score of 56.00 or . Then, the students’ activity after the treatment in cycle I increase significantly with the mean score 64. There were 16 active students (72.72%). The average of score yielded in cycle 2 was classified into high category with the mean score of 80 and the number of active students became 19 students (86.36%). Thus, it can be concluded that WhatsApp group is able to improve students’ writing ability. Therefore, it is recommended implemented by teachers in practicing English writing.
