The data gathering techniques encompassed interviews, documentation studies, and post-observation analysis. To ensure data validity, triangulation of sources was performed, and data was subsequently analyzed through collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion stages. Findings revealed instances of student dishonesty during online learning, including plagiarism in friend's assignments, copying answers from the internet, and deceptive behavior towards parents. Additionally, students exhibited reduced politeness in their communication with teachers. The research also highlighted influential factors contributing to student moral behavior, attributing challenges in adjusting to the online learning system to both parents and teachers. Abstract

The Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) is designed to support Indonesia's Independent Curriculum, aimed at enhancing instructional quality by aligning with the needs of individual schools. Specifically, in Pancasila Education, PMM is expected to facilitate effective, high-quality learning. This qualitative study used a case study approach to examine PMM’s effectiveness in Pancasila Education (PKn) at SMP Negeri 51 Palembang. Data were collected through observations and interviews with three PKn teachers, focusing on the challenges they encounter and their strategies to integrate PMM into their teaching. Analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, involving data collection, display, reduction, and conclusion drawing. Findings indicate that PMM aids PKn teachers in delivering high-quality instruction by providing accessible teaching materials and interactive learning media aligned with the Independent Curriculum. However, challenges persist, including limited teacher familiarity with PMM, inadequate devices and internet access, and difficulties in integrating PMM with classroom practices. Teachers employ various strategies to overcome these barriers, including self-directed learning and school-provided training sessions, which enhance their technological competence and understanding of PMM. Additionally, the platform’s resources are adaptable, allowing teachers to modify content to meet curriculum standards effectively. PMM has significant potential to improve teaching quality in PKn education, though its effectiveness is influenced by the availability of resources and teacher training. Enhanced support in these areas could maximize PMM’s impact in Indonesian schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how school climate functions in maintaining social harmony amid diversity at SDN 32 Muaro Putuih through the lens of structural functionalism, particularly Talcott Parsons’ AGIL framework (Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, and Latency). The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore school climate as a lived social reality experienced by school members. Data were collected through non-participant observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving school principals, teachers, students, parents, and community members. The validity of the data was ensured through source and time triangulation, while data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that school climate functions as a social system that fulfills AGIL requirements: (1) adaptation is reflected in inclusive practices accommodating religious, ethnic, and linguistic diversity; (2) goal attainment is shown through the shared commitment to sustaining social harmony; (3) integration is achieved through mutual trust, respect, and effective communication among school members; and (4) latency (pattern maintenance) is maintained through the continuous internalization of tolerance, empathy, and social care in everyday interactions. A positive relational school climate characterized by inclusive interactions and strong school–parent communication plays a crucial role in sustaining harmony. Diversity does not lead to conflict but is managed through daily social practices grounded in shared values and supportive leadership. These findings suggest that school climate, as a socially constructed system, significantly contributes to fostering inclusive and harmonious relationships in diverse educational settings while simultaneously demonstrating the functional operation of AGIL in maintaining social order.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in promoting the transformation of students' prosocial behavior from passive bystander to active defender in a Civic Education context. The study was motivated by the dominance of passive bystander behavior in Class IX J of SMP Negeri 5 Cilacap, Indonesia, characterized by zero defender action (0%) in pre-intervention observations. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design following Kemmis and McTaggart (2014) was applied across two cycles with 32 students as subjects. Data were collected via observation rubrics measuring five indicators, field notes, interviews, and cognitive tests, analyzed through descriptive statistics and triangulation. Results demonstrated significant improvements in mean prosocial behavior from 77% (Cycle I) to 89.74% (Cycle II), with aspect-specific gains: cooperation +24.62%, initiative and leadership +16.63%, empathy +9.44%, responsibility +9.44%, and defender action +3.69%. Mean cognitive learning scores increased from 76.25 to 88.75. Analysis through Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory and Salmivalli's Participant Role Approach revealed that individual accountability and role simulation simultaneously activated self-efficacy development, moral disengagement reduction, and observational learning. From a Civic Education perspective, this transformation empirically realizes the concept of justice-oriented citizenship as theorized by Westheimer and Kahne (2004) and the civic dispositions framework of Branson (1998). A critical validity discussion explicitly addressed five internal validity threats and four causality arguments, positioning this study as a methodologically transparent contribution to prosocial behavior intervention research.
