Abstract

The scarcity of blood is assumed to be caused by a lack of public knowledge about blood donation. Donor health advantages can minimize the danger of cancer, help with weight loss, make the body psychologically better and prolong life, reduce the risk of heart and blood vessel disease, and detect major disorders. Aside from carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, community service activities seek to encourage local residents to donate blood for the safety of others, hence raising people's desire and willingness to contribute. PMI Cilacap supports this program by sending numerous medical personnel to perform blood draws. The service team distributed information about the benefits of blood donation during this activity. There were 62 registered blood donors, with 43 (69.35%) passing the health check and donating blood, and 19 (30.65%) failing (not passing) the health check and so unable to donate blood.

Abstract

Tanaman burdock (Arctium lappa L.) merupakan tanaman herbal yang berkhasiat sebagai penambah darah (hemoglobin dan hematokrit) pada penderita anemia defisiensi besi. Sebanyak 15 ekor tikus (Rattus norvegicus) strain Wistar, jantan dan betina dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok secara random sampling yaitu Kelompok 1 Kontrol negatif (KN) tidak diberi A. lappa L. nanoemulsion. Kelompok Dosis 1 (KD1) diberi A. lappa L. nanoemulsion dengan dosis 150 mg/kgBB/hari. Kelompok Dosis 2 (KD2) diberikan A. lappa L. nanoemulsion dengan dosis 450 mg/kgBB/hari (selama 14 hari dimulai hari ke 8). Indikator penelitian ini dilihat kadar pemeriksaan biokimia kadar darah. Organ hati dan ginjal dinilai menggunakan Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE). Hasil pemeriksaan biokimia darah relatif normal. Sedangkan pewarnaan HE pada kelompok KD1 dan KD2 terjadi perubahan pada sel organ ginjal dan hati, menunjukkan bahwa sediaan nanoemulsi akar burdock bersifat toksik, namun terdapat faktor pengganggu yaitu ditemukan cacing parasit Taenia taeniaeformis, sehingga interpretasi hasilnya terganggu.

Abstract

Erectile dysfunction (ED) refers to medical issues concerning men's sexual health. Purwaceng, pasak bumi, and epimedium plants contain aphrodisiac compounds that can boost stamina, libido (sexual desire), and male fertility. The formula for microemulsions is 80: PEG 400: oil shavings in a ratio of 73.6711: 12.5705: 13.7584, with icariin, purwaceng, and pasak bumi added. The microemulsion system was created because it contained a large number of active ingredients. The stability of a microemulsion is further influenced by surfactants (tween 80) and cosurfactants (PEG 400) as emulsifiers, as well as the oil used as a solvent for the active component (bottled oil). The goal of this study was to create a microemulsion that would mix icariin, pasak bumi, and purwaceng substances to improve solubility and synergize pharmacological effects. The formulation is optimized using Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) to produce the optimal formula. The microemulsion formulations of icariin, pasak bumi extract, and purwaceng extract produce optimal microemulsions and enter into good microemulsion susceptibility. They can also increase the aphrodisiac effectiveness when compared to the administration of the single active substance icariin, pasak bumi extract, and purwaceng extract. As a result, this product exhibits microemulsion capabilities, allowing it to minimize dose while increasing effect.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the optimal formula of transfersome propolis gel, aloe vera extract and gotu gotu leaf extract and test it against diabetic wounds in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The gel was created with an optimal formulation resulting from the application of a Design Expert with Cutimed as a positive control of burns on the backs of male white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Formula optimization was carried out using a Simple Lattice Design with variations of carbopol, TEA and glycerin. Activity tests of propolis transferosome gel, aloe vera extract and gotu gotu extract were conducted on 20 rats. The data results were statistically analyzed using the SPSS One Way ANOVA method. Phytochemical screening on aloe vera and gotu gotu showed the presence of flavonoid compounds, tannins and saponins. Transfersome propolis has a particle size of 88.55 nm and a zeta potential of -24.13 mV. The optimal formula produces a clear preparation in white, a distinctive odour, a stable viscosity of 19980 cps, dispersion power of 6.67 cm, adhesion of 4.07 seconds and pH of 6.45. The burn activity test had the fastest effectiveness on day 12 but did not differ significantly from the customized control.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal berbasis potensi sumber daya alam merupakan strategi penting dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat perdesaan secara berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas teknis dan manajerial kelompok ternak lebah madu KUBE Banyu Aji di Desa Welahan Wetan, Kabupaten Cilacap, melalui pengembangan madu sebagai produk unggulan desa. Program dilaksanakan selama enam bulan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan dan potensi lokal, pelatihan teknis budidaya lebah madu, pendampingan produksi, penguatan manajemen usaha, serta evaluasi partisipatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test, observasi lapangan, diskusi kelompok terarah, dan survei pendapatan rumah tangga. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan keterampilan teknis peternak, dengan skor rata-rata pre-test sebesar 35–45 meningkat menjadi 75–82 pada post-test. Peningkatan terbesar terjadi pada aspek teknik panen madu higienis dan manajemen koloni lebah. Observasi lapangan mengonfirmasi perbaikan praktik pemeliharaan sarang, penggunaan alat panen berbahan stainless steel, serta pengemasan madu sesuai standar mutu. Selain itu, kelompok berhasil mengembangkan produk turunan seperti madu herbal dan salep propolis serta memperluas jaringan pemasaran melalui koperasi desa dan pelaku usaha lokal. Dampak ekonomi menunjukkan peningkatan pendapatan rumah tangga peternak sebesar 30–45%. Program ini memperkuat kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat dan berpotensi direplikasi di desa lain dengan karakteristik serupa. Community Empowerment through the Development of Honey Bee Farming Groups to Strengthen the Local Economy Based on Natural Products: Honey Abstract Community empowerment based on local natural resource potential is a key strategy for strengthening sustainable rural economies. This community service program aimed to enhance the technical and managerial capacities of the honey bee farming group KUBE Banyu Aji in Welahan Wetan Village, Cilacap Regency, by developing honey as a flagship local product. The program was implemented over six months using a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, including needs and potential assessment, technical training in honey bee cultivation, production mentoring, business management strengthening, and participatory evaluation. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments, field observations, focus group discussions, and household income surveys. Quantitative results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ technical skills, with average pre-test scores ranging from 35–45 and post-test scores increasing to 75–82. The most notable improvements were observed in hygienic honey harvesting techniques and colony management practices. Qualitative field observations confirmed better hive sanitation, use of stainless steel harvesting equipment, and standardized honey packaging. In addition, the group successfully developed value-added honey products, such as herbal honey and propolis ointment, and expanded market access through collaboration with village cooperatives and local businesses. Economic impact assessment showed an increase in household income of 30–45%. This program strengthened community economic independence and demonstrates strong potential for replication in other rural areas with similar ecological conditions.

Abstract

Sintesis nanopartikel berbasis green synthesis berkembang pesat sebagai alternatif ramah lingkungan terhadap metode konvensional yang menggunakan bahan kimia toksik. Centella asiatica (CA) mengandung triterpenoid, flavonoid, dan senyawa fenolik yang berpotensi berfungsi sebagai agen pereduksi dan penstabil alami dalam pembentukan nanopartikel. Review ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan metode sintesis green nanopartikel berbasis Centella asiatica, karakteristik nanopartikel yang dihasilkan, serta potensi aktivitas antioksidannya dalam bidang farmasi dan kosmetik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan pedoman PRISMA 2020. Pencarian artikel dilakukan melalui basis data Scopus pada periode 2016–2025 menggunakan kata kunci terkait green synthesis, nanopartikel, Centella asiatica, dan antioksidan. Dari 65 artikel yang teridentifikasi, 15 artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan dianalisis secara kritis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Centella asiatica telah diaplikasikan dalam berbagai sistem nano, termasuk nanopartikel logam, polimerik, lipid, karbon, dan nanokomposit. Sebagian besar penelitian melaporkan peningkatan aktivitas antioksidan melalui penurunan ROS, peningkatan aktivitas penangkal radikal bebas, serta aktivasi jalur pertahanan seluler. Namun, mayoritas studi masih terbatas pada uji in vitro. Green nanopartikel berbasis Centella asiatica berpotensi sebagai sumber antioksidan yang biokompatibel dan berkelanjutan, namun diperlukan penelitian lanjutan berbasis in vivo dan klinis.
