Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the stages of planning learning for Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PE) in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Junior High Schools in the tabuk river district.  This study uses a mixed-methods approach with quantitative analysis of the quality of teaching modules and qualitative analysis through in-depth interviews with four Physical Education (PE) teachers. The results show that none of the teaching modules analyzed reached the categories of ‘Good’ or ‘Very Good’, where 50% fell into the ‘Sufficient’ category and the other 50% ‘Poor’, indicating that the alignment of the modules with the principles of the Independent Curriculum has not yet been optimal. Qualitatively, it was found that teachers have understood the stages of planning from the analysis of learning outcomes to the development of assessments, but the implementation of initial assessments and differentiated learning is still minimal. The main challenges include limited training, inadequate facilities, and varying student motivation. Nevertheless, teachers demonstrate adaptive efforts through collaboration, the use of makeshift tools, and the utilization of digital media. This finding emphasizes the need for capacity building for teachers and resource support to ensure the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum uniformly.

Abstract

Abstract Wetland environments, which often have high temperatures and humidity, can present unique challenges to the physical condition of futsal players. This study will use a quantitative approach with a research sample of 30 futsal players, involving a series of physical tests designed to measure endurance, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, and balance at different temperature and humidity conditions. There is a difference in the performance of the physical condition of futsal players in the morning and afternoon, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.031 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the average values of the morning group and the afternoon group. The average value of the morning group is 3.5 and the afternoon group is 3.333. The difference in the average value is 0.166667. This is caused by the temperature and humidity conditions of the place used for the study. Ignoring this factor is tantamount to allowing the physical condition of the futsal team to decline drastically and putting the players at health risk.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an Android-based learning application to support volleyball courses in higher education using the 4D development model consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach involving 64 students from a Physical Education program. Research instruments included expert validation sheets for content and media, student feasibility questionnaires, and learning outcome tests in the form of pretests and posttests. The results of expert validation indicated that the application was highly feasible, achieving an average score of 89% in both material and media aspects. Student usability testing showed a feasibility level of 86%, indicating that the application was practical and user-friendly. Learning effectiveness analysis revealed a significant improvement in student achievement, with the average pretest score increasing from 54.53 to 83.34 in the posttest. The paired sample t-test produced a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), confirming the effectiveness of the application in enhancing learning outcomes. Therefore, the developed Android-based learning application is appropriate and effective as a supplementary medium for volleyball instruction in higher education.
