Abstract

Abstract

A web-based Academic Information System assists schools in managing student, teacher, class, subject, grade, attendance, and academic report data. Nevertheless, web applications introduce security risks such as unauthorized access, unauthorized grade modification, input errors, data loss, and the absence of audit trails. This study aims to design a data security model for a web-based Academic Information System to improve data integrity at MAS Alwashliyah Medan Deras. The study applies a system development method using a waterfall model consisting of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The system was designed using PHP and MySQL by implementing authentication, password hashing, role-based access control, input validation, prepared statements, CSRF tokens, session timeout, audit logs, database constraints, and database backup. The testing data were generated from simulated academic data management scenarios involving five user roles, namely administrator, teacher, homeroom teacher, student, and principal. The black-box testing results show that all main modules operate according to the design. Basic security testing shows that invalid login attempts, unauthorized menu access, out-of-range grade input, simple SQL injection attempts, and forms without CSRF tokens were successfully rejected by the system. Therefore, the proposed system design can improve academic data integrity through access limitation, transaction validation, database relationship consistency, activity recording, and data recovery mechanisms.

Abstract

The development of computer network technology and the increasing use of public hotspot services in various public places, such as cafes, have made network security threats increasingly complex. Public hotspot networks have a high level of vulnerability to various types of cyberattacks, such as port scanning, sniffing, spoofing, brute force, and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS). An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is a network security solution used to detect suspicious activities and attacks on computer networks in real-time. This study aims to analyze the implementation of an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) on public hotspot networks in Moonlight Cafe to improve local network security. The research method used is an experimental method by implementing an IDS using Snort on a public hotspot network. Testing was conducted using several types of attack simulations, such as port scanning, brute force login, ping flood, and sniffing attacks. The testing parameters included the attack detection rate, response time, packet detection accuracy, false positive rate, and server resource utilization. The results showed that the IDS was able to detect various types of network attacks with an accuracy rate of 96.8%. The IDS system was also able to provide real-time notifications for suspicious activities on the public hotspot network. Based on the research results, the implementation of an IDS is proven to be effective in improving local network security within a public hotspot environment in cafes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a web-based employee performance monitoring information system at UPT PEPENDA Medan Selatan to address data management issues that are still carried out manually, such as processing delays and low data accuracy. The method used in this study is Prototype, which allows system development through the creation of an initial model that can be evaluated gradually by users. The system was developed using the Laravel framework with a Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture and supported by a MySQL database. The results of the study show that the system is able to automate the employee performance monitoring process, accelerate data processing, and produce structured and real-time reports. Thus, the system built can improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in managing employee performance monitoring.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of giving fermented rice bran with Rhizopus sp on the performance of free-range chickens. This study used a non-factorial Complete Random Design (RAL) method with 4 treatments and 5 replicates. The treatment used was as follows: P0 = control, P1 = ration + 10% DPF, P2 = ration + 15% DPF and P3 = ration + 20% DPF. The results of the study showed that the administration of fermented rice bran can affect the performance of free-range chickens, namely ration consumption, body weight gain, and ration conversion. The results of the fingerprint analysis showed that the P2 treatment (ration + 15% DPF) had a conversion of 3.64 and the highest body weight gain of 63.81 g.
