Abstract

An information system is a collection of elements that are interrelated and work together to process input to produce the desired output. It is hoped that the development of a web-based information system at the Bintang Village Office can help increase information updates and expand the reach of information that can be disseminated to the community. Implementation of System Management Design is an important part of the system implementation process, so that the system design process can be structured in a structured manner and avoid errors in design. Based on the research results, it was concluded that a website-based Bintang Village Information System had been built using the UML (Unified Modeling Language) system design method and the PHP programming language. From the test results using the Black Box method, it can be concluded that the development of the Bintang Village Information System is functionally running well and in line with expectations. The information system that was built has been able to provide convenience in obtaining effective and efficient information for the people of Bintang Village.

Abstract

Abstrak: Dalam era digitalisasi, peternak sapi di Desa Tanjung Gusta menghadapi tantangan besar dalam pemasaran produk mereka, terutama terkait dengan keterbatasan akses dan pengetahuan tentang teknologi digital. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hardskill peternak melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam penggunaan platform Silembu.com dan teknik pemasaran digital untuk meningkatkan jangkauan pasar. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pengembangan konsep platform, penyuluhan mengenai pentingnya pemasaran digital, workshop penggunaan Silembu.com dan integrasi dengan media sosial. dengan melibatkan 11 peternak dari Kandang Sapi Arfhan dan kelompok peternak di desa tersebut. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi saat kegiatan, serta wawancara dan angket dengan total 9 pertanyaan pasca kegiatan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 60% peserta sangat puas dengan pelatihan, dengan peningkatan hardskill penggunaan platform digital sebesar 73% dan kebutuhan pendampingan lanjutan mencapai 73%. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman peternak tentang digital marketing dan berpotensi meningkatkan penjualan sapi secara signifikan.Abstract: In the digital era, cattle farmers in Tanjung Gusta Village face significant challenges in marketing their products, primarily due to limited access and knowledge of digital technology. This community service program aims to enhance farmers' hard skills through training and support in using the Silembu.com platform and digital marketing techniques to enhance market reach. The implementation methods included the development of the platform concept, education on the importance of digital marketing, workshops on using Silembu.com, and integration with social media, involving 11 farmers from Kandang Sapi Arfhan and local farmer groups. Evaluation was conducted through observation during the activities, as well as interviews, and questionnaires with a total of 9 questions after the activities Results showed that 60% of participants were very satisfied with the training, with a 73% increase in digital platform hardskills and a 73% need for ongoing support. The program successfully enhanced farmers' understanding of digital marketing and has the potential to significantly boost cattle sales.

Abstract

The online learning system is still having problems. As a result of the observations of the USU team, several obstacles were felt not only by the teachers at MIN 2 Serdang Bedagai but also by students and parents. The problems that occur are quite diverse. Starting from limited signal, limited devices suitable for online learning, to the lack of technological knowledge of teachers and students on online applications that support the teaching and learning process. There are various online applications available today, such as Google Classroom, Zoom, Google Meet, Youtube, and others. These various online applications play an important role in helping students and teachers in the distance learning process. The USU team conducted training using the online application Google Classroom and Zoom. Google Classroom and Zoom were chosen because they are easier for the teacher to implement, besides that the two online applications facilitate coordination and communication between teachers and students, so that the material being taught can be discussed more easily, more freely and can be updated more quickly. In this community service, Online Learning training was conducted for the Elementary School / Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Level with Various Online Applications at MIN 2 Serdang Bedagai. This community service has reached the implementation stage of training which begins with the initial survey stage, provision of training modules and also training. The next stage is monitoring and evaluation and feedback.

Abstract

Abstrak. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona-virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) ataulebih dikenal Covid-19 adalah virus menular yang sangat berbahaya dan menular dengan cepat. Penyebaran Covid-19 terus menjadi tantangan global yang signifikan dan dapat menimbulkan kematian. Vaksinasi menjadi strategi penting dalam upaya mengendalikan penyebaran penyakit Covid-19 ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menunjukkan efktivitas vaksinasi dalam mengendalikan penyebaran Covid-19 di wilayah Sumatera Utara. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah melalui pengembangan dan analisis model matematika yang mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi penyebaran penyakit. Dalam model ini, kami menggabungkan parameter vaksinasi dengan variabel-variabel terkait penyebaran penyakit seperti tingkat kontak sosial, kekebalan populasi, dan faktor risiko lainnya. Vaksinasi dilakukan terhadap populasi rentan, Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa vaksinasi memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam mengendalikan penyebaran Covid-19 di Sumatera Utara. Dengan menggunakan model matematika, dapat memprediksi dampak vaksinasi terhadap penurunan jumlah kasus, tingkat kesembuhan, dan tingkat kematian terkait Covid-19. Selain itu, kami juga menganalisis skenario vaksinasi yang berbeda untuk mengevaluasi efektivitasnya dalam mengurangipenyebaran penyakit Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semakin besar populasi rentanyang divaksin akan memperlambat laju penularan sehingga mengurangi populasi terinfeksi. Analisis dari hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa 75% jumlah populasi di Provinsi Sumatera Utara melaksanakan vaksinasi memberikan penurunan jumlah populasi terinfeksi yang signifikan, grafik populasi terinfeksi turun melandai menuju nol, artinya kasus Covid-19 di Provinsi Sumatera Utara dalam kurun waktu tertentu berkurang secara signifikan, Covid-19 bukan pandemi lagi. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar bagi pengambilan keputusan yang berorientasi pada vaksinasi dan upaya pengendalian penyebaran Covid-19 di Sumatera Utara.

Abstract

Let G = (V,E) be a nontrivial, finite, and connected graph. A function c from E to {1,2,...,k},k ∈ N, can be considered as a rainbow k-coloring if every two vertices x and y in G has an x- y path. Therefore, no two path's edges receive the same color; this condition is called a “rainbow path”. The smallest positive integer k, designated by rc(G), is the G rainbow connection number. Thus, G has a rainbow k-coloring. Meanwhile, the c function is considered as a strong rainbow k-coloring within the condition for every two vertices x and y in G have an x - y rainbow path whose length is the distance between x and y. The smallest positive integer k, such as G, has a strong rainbow k-coloring; such a condition is called a strong rainbow connection number of G, denoted by src(G). In this research, the rainbow connection number and strong rainbow connection number are determined from the graph resulting from the join operation between the ladder graph and the trivial graph, denoted by rc(L_n∨K_1) and src(L_n∨K_1) respectively. So, rc (L_n∨K_1 )= src (L_n∨K_1 )=2,"for" 3≤n≤4 and rc (L_n∨K_1 )=3, while src(L_n∨K_1 )=⌈n/2⌉,"for" n≥5.

Abstract

Kegiatan bootcamp teknik teknik jaringan telekomunikasi fiber optik untuk siswa/siswi teknik komputer dan jaringan di SMKS Tri Sakti Lubuk Pakam bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa/i jurusan Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan (TKJ) di SMKS Tri Sakti Lubuk Pakam terkait instalasi jaringan fiber optik. Kegiatan ini diadakan untuk menjawab kebutuhan industri yang terus berkembang, di mana instalasi fiber optik menjadi standar dalam jaringan telekomunikasi secara Global. Metode yang dilakukan meliputi training materi teori instalasi fiber optik oleh praktisi Industri, demonstrasi, dan pelatihan langsung instalasi fiber optik. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta mampu memahami prinsip dasar fiber optik, jenis kabel yang digunakan, dan teknik instalasi yang benar. Namun, masih terdapat beberapa peserta yang belum sepenuhnya memahami aspek-aspek teknis tertentu. Diakhir kegiatan dilakukan penyerahan alat instalasi fiber optik kepada sekolah dengan harapan dapat mendukung peningkatan kompetensi instalasi fiber optik lebih lanjut dan memastikan kesiapan siswa menghadapi dunia kerja pada bidang telekomunikasi fiber optik.

Abstract

In everyday life, three-dimensional shapes are ubiquitous, manifesting in structures such as houses, bottles, and vehicles. These shapes, characterized by length, width, and height, represent the application of functions of two variables, particularly within spatial domains. This research employs Python programming to model functions of two variables, specifically focusing on spatial surfaces. Leveraging the Matplotlib module, graphical representations of these functions are generated, while the NumPy module facilitates mathematical analyses, including identifying extremal values, critical points, and tangent lines. Results demonstrate the efficacy of Python in efficiently modeling functions of two variables. Through this approach, readers gain insights into the inherent characteristics and behaviors of such functions within spatial contexts, thereby simplifying mathematical analyses and enhancing comprehension.

Abstract

Abstrak: Rendahnya kompetensi guru dalam mengembangkan materi ajar digital menjadi kendala utama dalam implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka di SD Swasta Muhammadiyah 36 Medan, sehingga berisiko menghambat penguatan literasi dan numerasi siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam pembuatan dan pemanfaatan modul ajar digital yang interaktif dan relevan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif yang meliputi sosialisasi, workshop intensif, dan pendampingan kepada 38 guru. Evaluasi keberhasilan program menggunakan instrumen pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan hardskill dan softskill. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kompetensi yang signifikan: persentase guru yang "Kurang Memahami" komponen modul ajar turun drastis dari 33.3% menjadi 0%, sementara kategori "Sangat Memahami" meningkat dari 6.1% menjadi 37.5%. Selain itu, 75% guru berkomitmen untuk mengimplementasikan modul ajar digital secara rutin, menunjukkan keberhasilan program dalam mentransformasi kapabilitas dan motivasi guru.Abstract: The low competency of teachers in developing digital teaching materials has become a primary obstacle in the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum) at SD Swasta Muhammadiyah 36 Medan, posing a risk to the strengthening of student literacy and numeracy. This community service project aimed to enhance teachers' competence in creating and utilizing interactive and relevant digital teaching modules. The method employed was a participatory approach involving socialization, intensive workshops, and mentoring for 38 teachers. Program success was evaluated using pre-test and post-test instruments to measure improvements in hardskills and softskills. The results indicated a significant increase in competency: the percentage of teachers with a "Poor Understanding" of module components dropped sharply from 33.3% to 0%, while the "Very Good Understanding" category rose from 6.1% to 37.5%. Furthermore, 75% of teachers committed to implementing digital teaching modules regularly, demonstrating the program's success in transforming teacher capabilities and motivation.

Abstract

Abstrak: Artikel ini membahas tentang tantangan yang dihadapi petani padi di Sumatera Utara akibat serangan hama wereng dan belalang yang menurunkan secara signifikan hasil panen padi. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) dalam bentuk sistem kontrol hama padi dan monitoring sawah. Teknologi ini menggunakan perangkat berbasis IoT yang dilengkapi dengan sensor lingkungan dan aktuator seperti ultrasonik dan LED UV untuk mengusir dan menangkap hama, serta aplikasi mobile untuk pemantauan real-time. Implementasi teknologi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan pertanian, mengoptimalkan penggunaan sumber daya, dan mengurangi dampak lingkungan dari penggunaan pestisida kimia. Hasil uji coba awal menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini efektif dalam mengendalikan populasi hama, dengan potensi besar untuk meningkatkan produksi padi secara berkelanjutan di Desa Petumbukan dan daerah-daerah pertanian lainnya di Indonesia. Kelompok tani Kenanga yang terdiri dari 10 orang (4 laki-laki dan 6 perempuan) menjadi mitra dalam kegiatan ini. Mereka berada di Desa Petumbukan, Kecamatan Galang, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyajian materi, praktik, dan pendampingan selama pelatihan. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pemantauan lapangan dan analisis data hasil uji coba, dengan indikator keberhasilan berupa peningkatan produksi padi dan efektivitas pengendalian hama. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan mitra sebesar 80% dalam menggunakan teknologi IoT, yang juga berhasil menurunkan populasi hama wereng dan belalang, berpotensi meningkatkan produksi padi secara berkelanjutan.Abstract: This article discusses the challenges faced by rice farmers in North Sumatra due to attacks by brown planthoppers and grasshoppers that significantly reduce rice yields. To overcome this problem, this community service is carried out by implementing Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the form of a rice pest control system and rice field monitoring. This technology uses IoT-based devices equipped with environmental sensors and actuators such as ultrasonic and UV LEDs to repel and capture pests, as well as mobile applications for real-time monitoring. The implementation of this technology is expected to improve the efficiency of agricultural management, optimize resource use, and reduce the environmental impact of chemical pesticide use. Initial trial results show that this system is effective in controlling pest populations, with great potential to increase sustainable rice production in Petumbukan Village and other agricultural areas in Indonesia. The Kenanga farmer group consisting of 10 people (4 men and 6 women) is a partner in this activity. They are located in Petumbukan Village, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency. The implementation method includes presentation of materials, practice, and assistance during training. The evaluation was conducted through field monitoring and analysis of trial data, with success indicators in the form of increased rice production and effectiveness of pest control. The results showed an 80% increase in partner skills in using IoT technology, which also succeeded in reducing the population of brown planthoppers and grasshoppers, potentially increasing rice production sustainably.

Abstract

Graph theory is an advanced subject of mathematics that can be utilized to resolve issues in science. Graph coloring is one of the most well-known problems for determining the color of the map. The map that will be colored here is one of the 21 sub-districts that cover the Medan regency. In order to color the map, a graph model of the map must first be created. The use of a greedy algorithm is one technique to find a graph's minimal color. The dual graph with 21 vertices and 45 edges will be what we extract from the map. Based on the greedy method that has been used, just four colors—blue, green, red, and yellow—are found as the smallest number of colors, with each city that borders another having a distinct color. The Python computer language is used to get the map coloring results using the greedy technique.
