Abstract

The role of the teacher in applying the skill of asking questions during learning. The teacher is an important component in the teaching and learning process. Teachers have a role to form human resources who are professional and responsible for the education of their students, but many students are embarrassed to ask questions. Therefore, to overcome these problems, the Role of the Social Sciences Teacher is needed in Growing Questioning Skills. The goal to be achieved from this research is to find out the role of the social studies teacher in cultivating questioning skills, student responses to the social studies teacher's role in cultivating questioning skills and the constraints experienced. The method used in this research is a qualitative method using a descriptive study approach. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique consists of three stages, namely (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the teacher's role in cultivating questioning skills in Class VII social studies learning at SMPN 2 Tarogong Kidul Garut was quite good, students also performed well regarding the importance of the teacher's role. Students who ask questions will be given answers by the teacher and appreciation in the form of additional points that encourage other students to be active in class. The obstacle faced by the teacher is that there are still students who do not understand the material but are embarrassed to ask questions.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the phenomenon of many social problems, especially in the scope of students' interpersonal skills, which are the center of attention today, because the development of interpersonal skills is important in helping students adjust and form social relationships. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of social studies teachers in supporting the development of students' interpersonal skills in the school environment. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of correlational research. The design of this study used ex post facto which was carried out in class VIII at MTs 2 Negeri Garut in the 2021/2022 academic year as the population. The sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling where this technique provides the same opportunity/opportunity for each element or member of the population selected to be the research sample. The variables in this study include the role of social studies teachers (X) and students' interpersonal skills (Y). The sample in this study amounted to 32 respondents. The instruments used in this research are questionnaires and documentation studies. After the data is collected in hypothesis testing, the product moment correlation test and the coefficient of determination test are used which are processed with the help of SPSS 16 for Windows and Microsoft Excel. The results of the study describe that there is a significant relationship between the teacher's role variable and the interpersonal skills of students at MTs Negeri 2 Garut. The magnitude of the relationship between the two variables is 0.480. Where the value is in the medium category. The magnitude of the contribution of the influence of the teacher's role on the interpersonal skills of students is around 23.1%.

Abstract

The use of learning resources at this time does not only depend on books, especially for social studies lessons which of course the study of the material is closely related to social issues. Global economic competition is certainly a challenge for social studies educators to be able to equip their students to have the ability to collaborate so as to create a competent golden generation, one of the movements in the field of education is by making meaningful learning through the use of contextual learning resources. The purpose of this study is for students to have social skills and to develop scientific treasures related to components in the bird cage handicraft business by making it a social studies learning resource. This study uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive method using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study can be summarized into three main points: 1) The transition of the bird cage handicraft business. The community of Ciloa, Mekarsari Village, Selaawi District, which is increasing, provides an overview of economic activities and entrepreneurship so that it can be used as a source of social studies learning at SMP Negeri 1 Selaawi. 2) The existence of bird cage craftsmen provides many benefits to various groups, especially in the social and economic fields so that the existence of bird cage crafts needs to be maintained. 3) The support of social studies educators for implementing bird cage crafts at SMP Negeri 1 Selaawi gives strength to students to learn how the components of bird cage handicraft business are in the hope that students have the ability to maintain bird cages as one of their regional characters so that students have economic provisions in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Learning styles can be classified into three types, namely visual learning styles, auditory learning styles and kinesthetic learning styles. Each individual has a tendency to a certain learning style that makes it easier for him to absorb lessons. Individuals who know their learning style tendencies and are able to apply appropriate learning strategies will be successful in their studies. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between learning styles and learning outcomes for class VIII students in social studies subjects at SMPN 01 Cisompet. The research approach uses quantitative with the type of correlation research. The sample in this study amounted to 31 respondents. Data collection was obtained through questionnaires and documentation. After the data is collected in hypothesis testing, the product moment correlation test and the coefficient of determination test are used which are processed with the help of SPSS 16 for Windows and Microsoft Excel. The results of the study describe that there is a significant relationship between learning styles and social studies learning outcomes for class VIII at SMPN 01 Cisompet. The magnitude of the relationship between the two variables is 0.993 where the value is in the very high category. The magnitude of the contribution of the influence of learning styles on student learning outcomes is around 98.5%.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in diversity, which makes the teaching materials more numerous, causing students' understanding of the concept of socio-cultural diversity to be low. This research has the objective of examining the influence of miniature traditional houses on increasing the understanding of the concept of socio-cultural diversity among students at SMPN 5 Garut. The research method used was a quasi-experimental study with a "non-equivalent control group design", The sample was selected using the purposive sampling technique. Class VII E is the experimental class, and class VII G is the control class. Instruments are used in the form of observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include the normality test, the homogeneity test, the gain test, and the T-test. The results of testing the hypothesis related to the effect of increasing the use of miniature traditional houses on increasing the understanding of the concept of socio-cultural diversity in students at SMPN 5 Garut are in accordance with the gain test results obtained, namely the N-Gain Score in the experimental class with this medium category indicating that there is an increase in understanding of the concept of socio-cultural diversity in the experimental class, while the N-Gain Score in the control class with this low category shows that there is no increase in students' understanding of the concept of socio-cultural diversity. This study resulted in Ho being rejected and Ha being accepted, so it can be concluded that Ho was accepted and Ha was accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of miniature traditional houses in enhancing the concept of socio-cultural diversity.
