Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing strategy of Murabahah financing products in micro businesses implemented by BPRS Al-Washliyah Medan Krakatau. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis was carried out using the SWOT model and Business Model Canvas (BMC). The results of the study indicate that BPRS has internal strengths in the form of sharia principles, community networks, and fast service, with external opportunities from increasing interest in sharia financing and the growth of MSMEs. The marketing strategy is focused on a personal, educational approach, and the use of social media, although it still faces challenges such as low sharia financial literacy and limited human resources. Despite a decrease in the number of accounts, the nominal financing remains high, reflecting an increase in the quality of fund distribution. The study concludes that the success of the marketing strategy depends on optimizing human resources, digitizing services, and strengthening sharia values in facing modern financial competition.

Abstract

The application of accounting in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is crucial for business sustainability and improved decision-making. This study analyzes the application of accounting at Warung Lontong Bu Wardah, a culinary MSME, using a case study method and a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through interviews and direct observation of the financial recording process carried out by the business owner. The results show that the financial recording is still manual and simple, focusing on daily cash flow without structured financial reports. This system is considered sufficient for short-term needs, but there are shortcomings in the accuracy and completeness of financial information that have the potential to affect business decision-making. This study recommends the use of a simple technology-based accounting system, such as a financial recording application, to improve efficiency, accuracy, and ease in preparing more structured and reliable financial reports for MSME owners.

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are sustainable development programmes that are an advanced programme of the MDGs or Millennium Development Objectives. Zakat is a major factor in the expropriation of the property of the Muslims, with 85% of Indonesians Islamic, Islamic in North Sumatra itself is 66%, and the province's potential zakat ranks sixth out of 34 provinces. It can help the success of these SDGs. This research uses a qualitative research approach with the type of research Study and Case Documentation. This method of research with a qualitative approach is used to analyze the potential impact of achieving SDGs through Zakat in BAZNAS North Sumatra. It has been found that many previous studies have discussed the BAZNAS of North Sumatra which have not been able to scan economic growth but are able to minimize poverty. Various programmes are proposed to create SDMs that support the achievement of the SDGs. This study provides practical insights for policymakers and zakat institutions globally, emphasizing the importance of integrating zakat frameworks into national and international development agendas.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of sharia values in the educational video content of Bank Shariah Indonesia (BSI) on the TikTok platform, an increasingly influential medium for Islamic banking communication in the digital era. Using the Ash-Syatibi-based Maqasid Shariah Index (MSI) as an evaluation framework, 55 educational videos uploaded between January and December 2024 were analyzed through qualitative content analysis. Each video was assessed across the five MSI dimensions—hifz al-din, hifz al-nafs, hifz al-aql, hifz al-nasl, and hifz al-mal—using a 25-indicator rubric. The results show an overall MSI score of 2.695 (medium category), with hifz al-aql scoring the highest (3.30) and hifz al-nasl the lowest (2.44). These findings indicate that BSI has integrated sharia values fairly well into its digital communication strategy, although improvements are needed in content that supports family-related financial planning. This study contributes to the literature on Islamic banking communication by offering a systematic measurement model for evaluating sharia value representation in short-form social media content, and provides practical recommendations for enhancing sharia compliance in digital outreach.

Abstract

The advancement of financial technology has given rise to Paylater services, which are increasingly favored by university students, particularly for fulfilling their consumption needs directly. However, this convenience has the potential to trigger consumer behavior that conflicts with it. Based on this phenomenon, this study formulates the following question: Does the use of a Paylater perspective influence students' consumption decisions, and does lifestyle moderate this relationship? This study aims to analyze the effect of Paylater usage on student decisions and to examine the role of lifestyle as a moderating variable. The method employed is a quantitative approach using multiple regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). A sample of 98 students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at UIN North Sumatra was obtained through purposive sampling. The results indicate that Paylater usage has a significant effect on students' consumption decisions. Furthermore, lifestyle is proven to moderate this relationship, where a consumptive lifestyle strengthens the influence of pay later on consumption decisions. These findings indicate a shift in student consumption patterns toward instant and emotional behavior. Therefore, financial literacy education based on Sharia principles and promotion is necessary to address the penetration of digital financial services.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a critical pillar of the economy in Indonesia, yet they often face fundamental obstacles in accessing effective and affordable financing, which hinders their growth potential. This study aims to deeply analyze the influence of the Micro Business Credit (KUR) program, distributed by Bank Aceh Syariah, on the development of MSMEs in Medan City. Furthermore, this study also assesses the strategic role of Shariah Compliance as a moderating variable presumed to strengthen this relationship. Using a quantitative method with a survey approach, primary data were collected from 35 respondents selected via purposive sampling out of a total of 500 KUR recipients. Data analysis was conducted comprehensively using SPSS, encompassing validity and reliability tests, descriptive analysis, simple linear regression, and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The research findings indicate that KUR has a positive and significant impact on the development of MSMEs. The Shariah Compliance variable was also found to significantly strengthen this relationship, as indicated by an increase in the coefficient of determination from 78.5% to 88.3% after the inclusion of the moderating variable. This finding confirms that sharia-based financing not only enhances financial access but also strengthens the business fundamentals of MSMEs.

Abstract

Islamic financial institutions in Indonesia have experienced tremendous expansion. Sharia-compliant banks play a crucial role in collecting public funds and channeling financing to strengthen the economy. The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of Third-Party Funds (DPK) and Equity Capital on financing at BPRS Puduarta Insani, and to analyze the moderating role of inflation in these relationships. Using secondary data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the period 2015-2023, this study applies Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The findings indicate that Third-Party Funds (DPK) have a significant positive effect on financing (β = 0.751; p < 0.05), confirming their role as a primary source of intermediary funds, while Equity Capital was not found to have a significant effect. The study's key finding is the significant role of inflation as a moderating variable. Inflation was proven to weaken the influence of DPK on financing (interaction coefficient = -0.322; p < 0.05) as well as the influence of Equity Capital (interaction coefficient = -0.204; p < 0.05). This model explains 89.4% of the variance in financing (R² = 0.894). This implies that in high-inflation situations, the role of DPK and capital in supporting financing expansion tends to decline due to greater risk considerations by the bank.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the collectibility of murabahah financing at Bank Syariah Indonesia KCP Sukaramai, Medan. This research was conducted at Bank Syariah Indonesia KCP Sukaramai, Medan. The research method used was qualitative with a phenomenological approach, because this approach allows researchers to understand and explore the subjective experiences of customers related to murabahah financing and how they experience and understand the collectibility process. Research data were obtained through in-depth interviews with five customers who were selected purposively, where this selection was made based on considerations of representing their experiences in using murabahah financing at the bank. Although the sample size was limited, these five customers provided views that were quite representative of the experiences and problems frequently faced by customers at Bank Syariah Indonesia KCP Sukaramai. The research results show that the murabahah financing collectibility system at BSI KCP Sukaramai complies with national Islamic banking guidelines with five collectibility categories and has implemented an Early Warning System (EWS) to detect potential problem financing. However, its implementation has not been optimal, particularly in the follow-up of risk identification results. Monitoring is carried out through visits and communication, but limited human resources and a lack of customer response are major obstacles. In terms of figures, collectibility decreased from 90.03% in January 2024 to 83.20% in April 2024, along with an increase in the Non-Performing Financing (NPF) ratio from 5.76% to 12.58%. However, improvements were seen in May–June 2024, when collectibility rose back to 92.90% and the NPF ratio decreased to 2.57%. External factors such as the decline in customer business after the pandemic also influenced the dynamics of financing collectibility.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the zakat distribution strategy implemented by BAZNAS Kota Tebing Tinggi in efforts to reduce poverty. Although the poverty rate in Tebing Tinggi has declined, the number of zakat recipients (mustahik) remains stagnant at approximately 1,000 individuals per year. This stagnation indicates that the zakat utilisation strategy requires a logical measurement ratio and recommendations for improvement. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) framework, this research explores perceptions and field data through questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis. The results reveal that Opportunity and Result factors scored highest in supporting the effectiveness of zakat distribution strategies. Opportunities  such  as  policy  support,  zakat  from  professionals,  and  technological advancement are identified as key drivers. Meanwhile, the expected outcomes include the economic independence of mustahik and improved transparency in zakat management. The SOAR approach proves relevant for developing zakat distribution strategies that are not only consumptive but also productive and sustainable
