Abstract

This research aims to identify internal and external factors and formulate strategies for optimizing the potential of Gomara Swiss Nature Tourism through a SWOT analysis for empowering the local community's economy in Labuhan Batu Utara Regency. A qualitative approach with a descriptive and analytical case study design is employed. Primary data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, FGDs, and SWOT questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained from literature studies and related documents. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative descriptive, IFAS, EFAS, and Rangkuti's (2018) SWOT method. The findings reveal that the development of Gomara Swiss Nature Tourism has a positive impact on the local community's economy, such as increased income, the growth of micro-enterprises, and the absorption of local labor. The main strategies recommended include gradual growth through digital promotion and facility development, internal strengthening via community empowerment and local HR training, sustainable product development with a halal ecotourism concept, institutional and partnership reinforcement, and risk mitigation for environmental and socio-cultural sustainability. These strategies aim to foster controlled growth of Gomara Swiss Nature Tourism while maximizing economic benefits for the local community and preserving the environment and local culture. Collaborative efforts from the government, private sector, and community are needed to implement these strategies effectively.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the success of the Islamic economy during the leadership of Abdul Malik bin Marwan with Umar Bin Abdul Aziz which was able to increase economic productivity with concepts built from Islamic teachings in creating the welfare of the people. Research uses methodscomparative studies, namely research by comparing two or more variables, to get answers or facts about whether there is a comparison or not of the object being researched, which systematically examines the thoughts and ideas of Abdul Malik Bin Marwan and Umar bin Abdul Aziz. From the research results, it is known that Abdul Malik Bin Marwan had his own way of developing his leadership with a regional expansion system to develop the country's economy and Umar bin Abdul Aziz carried out economic policy reforms with the concept of radd al-mazhalim where he eliminated all injustices including in the fields of trade, agriculture, and sources of state revenue that have an impact on improving the economy.

Abstract

Zakat memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan dan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi zakat terhadap kesejahteraan sosial dan pertumbuhan ekonomi di Kota Medan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis data sekunder dari laporan lembaga pengelola zakat dan wawancara dengan pemangku kepentingan terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa zakat yang dikelola secara efektif mampu mengurangi tingkat kemiskinan, meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat, dan mendorong aktivitas ekonomi mikro. Namun, terdapat tantangan dalam distribusi zakat yang merata dan peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat untuk berzakat. Penelitian ini menyarankan optimalisasi program zakat produktif dan sinergi antara lembaga zakat dan pemerintah untuk dampak yang lebih signifikan.

Abstract

This article attempts to develop a sustainable business model for community-based Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan City from the perspective of Islamic economics. This initiative is driven by the fact that there are currently 38,343 MSMEs registered in the Cooperative and MSME Data System (SIMDAKOP) application of Medan City, which must be able to endure. The methodology used is a qualitative approach, with data collection through interviews and surveys completed by participants, analyzed using a SWOT analysis based on the triple bottom line. The results of this study indicate that the sustainable business model for community-based MSMEs in Medan City, approached through SWOT analysis, is a competitive strategy achieved through ST (Strengths and Threats) collaboration. The program planning includes: (1) enhancing MSME collaboration with government institutions and academics to improve MSME competitiveness; (2) increasing environmentally friendly and locally sourced product innovation; and (3) improving funding sources from CSR programs of institutions or state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to support MSMEs, ensuring that their products and prices remain affordable despite economic instability. The contribution of this article is the proposal of a sustainable business model that is expected to withstand the challenges posed by all the core issues previously mentioned in the context of Islamic economics. Abstract

Purpose This article analyzes the external and internal elements that influence the competitiveness strategy of MSME Dodol Khas Mandailing Natal in company growth. The SOAR (Strength, Opportunities, Aspiration, and Result) methodology and the Qualitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) are used in this article. To develop targeted ambitions, goals, strategies, and commitments to achieve desired results for the company, the SOAR technique is used to identify and evaluate strengths and opportunities. Based on the SOAR matrix analysis conducted, the results of the study produced five alternative strategies, namely: 1). Having outlet facilities to increase sales made by culinary UMKM dodol typical of Mandailing Natal, 2) Conducting sales through resellers as a student empowerment program in exhibitions at educational and public institutions, 3) Forming a UMKM dodol community in Mandailing Natal City, 4) Creating attractive advertisements in the digital world, 5) Empowering UMKM human resources and improving the quality of basic ingredients for making dodol. In addition, the QSPM approach used produces alternative strategies, namely utilizing prime locations and increasing sales by implementing and maximizing promotions both offline and online with a TAS score of 7,100.Keywords: Strategy, Competitiveness, UMKM Dodol, SOAR, QSPM.

Abstract

Handling efforts by reusing palm oil industry waste in accordance with the green economy concept are considered capable of minimizing the negative effects of industrial activities. The aim of this research is to explore green economy opportunities in overcoming the negative impacts of the industry. Data collected through field observations, interviews and questionnaires, was tested using EFAS and IFAS techniques and then formulated using the SOAR matrix. The results of analysis found that the S-A strategy in green industrial activities uses power to achieve aspirations so that companies can use it as an excuse to continue implementing and developing sustainable concepts. With efforts to reuse waste and with assistance and monitoring of the five elements of the pentahelix in efforts to handle waste, it is found that the negative influence of palm oil industry activities can be minimized.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in supporting the national economy, including in Medan City. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic financial literacy and Islamic fintech lending on the development of MSMEs in Medan City. Islamic financial literacy includes MSME actors' understanding of Islamic financial principles, such as the prohibition of usury and gharar, while Islamic fintech lending is a technology-based financing alternative that is in accordance with Islamic principles. This study uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis methods. Data were obtained through questionnaires distributed to 86 MSME actors selected using purposive sampling techniques. The results of the study indicate that Islamic financial literacy significantly affects the ability perpetrator MSMEs in manage finance And determine source appropriate financing. In addition, sharia fintech lending has a significant positive impact on the ability of MSMEs to obtain fast, safe and halal financing. Simultaneously, both variables contribute positively to the development of MSMEs. This finding confirms that collaboration between Islamic financial literacy and financial technology can be an effective solution to overcome the challenges faced by MSMEs.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to ascertain the impact of banking zakat and corporate social responsibility (CSR) on financial performance. The study employed a purposive sampling technique, specifically utilizing financial reports and annual zakat transactions data from PT. Puduarta Insani Tembung for the period of 2018-2022. The research employs many data analysis techniques, including descriptive statistical analysis, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, t test, f test, and coefficient of determination test. The findings from the multiple linear regression analysis indicate that partially zakat has a favorable, albeit statistically insignificant impact on financial success. On the other hand, corporate social responsibility (CSR) has a considerable influence on financial performance. The findings demonstrate that both zakat and corporate social responsibility (CSR) have a simultaneous impact on financial performance. The coefficient of determination test reveals that zakat and corporate social responsibility (CSR) have a 32.2% impact on financial performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of digital marketing and brand image on Generation Z's interest in investing in digital gold through digital-based Islamic Financial Institutions, with a case study on Sharia Banking students at UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. The research method used is Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students as research samples. The analysis results show that both variables—digital marketing and brand image—have a significant and positive influence on interest in digital gold investment. The research model is able to explain 82.2% of the variation in Generation Z's interest in digital gold investment. These findings indicate that strengthening brand image and implementing effective digital marketing strategies are crucial to increasing digital gold investment interest among students. The practical implication of this research is that Islamic financial institutions need to optimize digital marketing and build a strong brand image to attract young investors.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the sustainability of the craft business in Mekar Sari Village, Asahan Regency. Design/Method/Approach: This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques include interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The subjects in the primary data collection consisted of five informants: palm broom business owners, business workers, business treasurers, and two product buyers. Secondary data were obtained from various relevant literature sources, such as books, scientific journals, online articles, and documents that support this research. This study adopts the SWOT analysis method to identify and eliminate various factors affecting microenterprises’ development. This analysis will divide internal factors affecting micro businesses into two main categories: strengths and weaknesses. On the other hand, the analysis will also include external factors that involve opportunities that can be used for the advancement of micro businesses, as well as threats that can be challenges or risks that need to be watched out for. Findings: The results of this study show that micro businesses with palm oil brooms obtained an IFAS score of 3.428571 and an EFAS score of 3.363636, which puts them in quadrant III. In the quadrant, the suggested strategy is a turnaround strategy, which aims to reduce internal weaknesses by taking advantage of existing opportunities. This turnaround strategy can be integrated with Islamic economics, focusing on justice, social responsibility, sustainability, and community empowerment. Originality/Values: This study’s implications can Help develop the palm oil broom craft business by using a SWOT analysis development strategy that includes strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, combining the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) concept. Thus, this craft business can develop not only in terms of profit but also make a positive contribution to the community and the surrounding environment, which ultimately increases market attractiveness and supports the sustainability of the craft business in palm oil brooms in the long term.
