Abstract

The abundance of plankton can describe aquatic life. The Jurung fish is a plankton feeder freshwater fish which has high economic value. This study aimed to identify plankton recognition as an indicator of the presence of Jurung fish (Tor sp.) in the Leuser area of the Lokop River in Aceh and analyze the physico-chemical factors associated with attracting plankton in the Lokop River. This research was conducted from February to March 2021. The research showed that the number of types of plankton found in the Lokop river was 17 types (13 phytoplankton and 4 zooplankton). Diversity index value of 1.538364 – 2.133691 and evennes index of 0.542975 - 0.753099 were classified as mesotropic waters with moderate fertility levels. In general, based on observations of plankton in the Lokop river, Jurung fish could be cultivated from upstream to downstream. However, it is better to be at station 1 (upstream) because there are still a lot of plankton species so that the food needs of the Jurung fish can be fulfilled.

Abstract

It is necessary to collect data on the species of fish that live in a body of water, one of which is by carrying out an inventory of fish species. The method used is purposive sampling in places that are thought to have lots of fish, are easy to reach and represent the river area. The research parameters in this activity are the level of diversity, level of uniformity, level of dominance, level of species richness, level of similarity, distribution pattern, relationship between length and weight and condition factors. The aim of this research is to provide real benefits in an effort to find out the potential of what species of fish are found in the Leuser Ecosystem, especially the Celike River. There are 13 species of fish found in the Celike River in the Leuser Conservation Area, East Aceh, belonging to 7 families with a total of 132 individuals. The diversity index value is classified as moderate with a value for station 1 of 1.26 and station 4 of 1.49. The highest uniformity index is at station 5 and station 3. The uniformity index value at these stations has the same index (E = stable 0.91). Stations 2, 3, 4, 5 and station 6 have the highest dominance index values in the high category (C=0.87-1.18).Keywords:IchtiofaunaCelike RiverLeuser EcosystemExploration

Abstract

Many factors encourage the exploitation of the blue swimming crab in the estuarine water of Langsa City. Therefore, maintaining crab populations in nature through fishing regulation becomes an important effort. Evaluation of the biological aspects of the blue swimming crab population the estuarine waters of Langsa City has the main role in the arrangement of regulation. This study aimed to determine the biology of the blue swimming crab population in the estuarine waters of Langsa City. This research was carried out in August 2022 in the estuarine waters of Langsa City. The method used was the survey method. The crab samples were taken randomly from the crab fishermen as much as 10% of the catch. Sampling once a week at 2 different location points for 1 month. The results showed that the relationship between carapace width and weight of male and female blue swimming crabs (Portunus pelagicus) had a negative allometric growth pattern because of the value of b 3, namely 1.22 and 1.21. The sex ratio of blue swimming crabs was not 1:1 or unbalanced. Gonadal maturity of male crabs was highest in level I, meanwhile the female could achieve the gonadal maturity in level V. During the research, the water quality of estuarine waters was in optimum condition. Keywords:Blue swimming crabBiological aspectEstuarinePopulation

Abstract

Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) is a commodity with high economic value because it is a consumption fish. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of different colors of rearing containers on the growth and survival of freshwater pomfret fry. The method used in this study was an experimental method with 4 treatments repeated 3 times. In each treatment, a different color was given: P1 = transparent (control), P2 = black, P3 = blue, P4 = green. The results of these treatments significantly affected absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, and daily growth rate. Meanwhile, the survival rate and feed conversion ratio did not have a significant difference. The highest absolute weight growth was found in P3 at 13,67g, while the lowest absolute weight growth was found in P1 at 8,75g. The highest absolute length growth was found in P3 at 3,49cm, while the lowest absolute length growth was found in P1 at 2,39cm. Meanwhile, the highest daily growth rate was found in P3 at 34,18g, while the lowest daily growth rate was found in P1 at 21,88g. From the results of providing different container colors in the maintenance container, the brighter the color used, the better the resulting growth is categorized

Abstract

The abundant availability of purple sweet potatoes in Cot Cut Village at a very low price is the backdrop for this community service activity. The processing of purple sweet potatoes into value-added products is expected to increase the added value of this commodity. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide homemakers in Cot Cut Village with training in making purple sweet potato sticks. Socialization, training, and direct practice of making purple sweet potato sticks are the methods used in this community service. The results of this community service indicate that the community has gained knowledge of the purple sweet potato processing process, which can increase product competitiveness. Processing purple sweet potatoes into sticks is a strategy to increase the independence and economic welfare of the Cot Cut Village community in the Aceh Besar Regency.

Abstract

White snapper (Lates calcarifer) is a marine fish that has important economic value and contains high nutritional value as a consumption fish. In the white snapper cultivation system, the emergence of disease outbreaks is one of the main threats. One of the diseases that often occurs in white snapper cultivation is bacterial disease. The type of bacteria that causes serious disease and threatens the economy and sustainability of white snapper production is Vibrio alginolyticus. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of soaking mangrove leaf extract (Rhizophora apiculata) in white snapper to prevent Vibrio alginolyticus and to determine the appropriate dose of mangrove leaf oil extract to prevent Vibrio alginolyticus bacterial disease. The research method used is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were: P1 = 0 ml mangrove extract/L, P2 = 0.5 ml mangrove extract/L, P3 = 1.5 ml mangrove extract/L and P4 = 2.5 ml mangrove extract/L Results: The best healing time was found in P4 with a duration of 23 hours and the best survival was also found in P4 with a percentage of 96.67%, while the lowest survival was found in P1 at 56.67%. The range of water parameters during the study were temperature in the range of 28oC-29oC, pH 8, DO 4-5 mg/L water, salinity 31 ppt, ammonia 0.4, nitrate <0.01 and nitrite <0.1. The conclusion of this study is that soaking in standard oil leaf extract is effective in preventing Vibrio alginolyticus bacteria in white snapper.
