Abstract

This study aimed to describe the resilience strategies used by Indonesian sailors in dealing with pressure and stress on board. This type of research used qualitative descriptive research with the determination of informants consisting of 7 informants selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that there are several resilience strategies used by Indonesian sailors in dealing with pressure and stress on board, including a) Cognitive strategies are managing feelings of stress and longing through positive thinking patterns, effective communication, and focusing on goals and the future of the family; b) emotional strategies are to combine social support, emotional management, spirituality amid tough work challenges and isolation situations at sea; c) social strategies are by building solid relationships, open communication, and emotional support from coworkers; d) professional strategies are by combining increased competence, discipline, self-management, and adaptability.

Abstract

The Kajang people are known for their lives based on traditional values, traditional beliefs, and distinctive local wisdom. They are here to preserve traditions amidst the blows of globalization. With this local wisdom, researchers are interested in analyzing the social construction of the Kajang traditional community to maintain their local wisdom. This research used a qualitative approach through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and data analysis using grounded theory analysis techniques. The research results show that the Kajang indigenous community faced challenges in maintaining their local wisdom amidst social changes and external influences. However, with its social construction, it maintained local wisdom through externalization, objectivation, and internalization processes. With this social construction approach, the Kajang traditional community can show resilience and initiative to preserve local wisdom and strengthen social ties between community members. This research will not only provide new insights into the local wisdom of the Kajang people in efforts to preserve culture, community development, and policy development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Latar belakang: pariwisata yang berlangsung merupakan bagian integral dari kegiatan konservasi, memperkuat ekonomi lokal dan mempromosikan rasa hormat yang lebih besar terhadap perbedaan budaya pada masyarakat. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan mendeskripsikan strategi pemberdayaan masyarakat pesisir berbasis ekowisata di Kabupaten Alor. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen wawancara mendalam. Lokasi penelitian ini berada di Kabupaten Alor Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Jenis penelian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dan data dikumpulkan oleh peneliti dengan observasi langsung dan wawancara mendalam. Informan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari Kepala Dinas Pariwisata, Kepala Seksi Kesejahteraan Sosial, Komunitas Pencinta Pariwisata Lokal (KPPL), Camat Pantar Barat Laut, Pemerintah Desa Kayang, Masyarakat Sekitar Objek Wisata. Hasil: Penelitian menunjukan bahwa strategi pemberdayaan masyarakat pesisir berbasis ekowisata di Kabupaten Alor dilaksanakan dengan dua strategi pemberdayaan, meliputi: 1) pemberian pendampingan/pelatihan kepada masyarakat pesisir, dimana pelaksanaan pemberdayaan dapat dilakukan dengan penyuluhan dan pelatihan sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesadaran, motivasi, pengetahuan, keterampilan dan kesetiakawanan dari generasi muda yang membentuk ekowisata yang berbasis pada pemberdayaan masyarakat lokal, 2) sinergitas dalam program pemberdayaan masyarakat pesisir, dimana pemerintah daerah Kabupaten Alor khususnya Dinas Pariwisata bekerja sama dengan pemerintah desa, akademisi, penggiat pemberdayaan, pemerhati lingkungan, masyarakat dan wisatawan dalam melaksanakan program pemberdayaan ekowisata berkelanjutan untuk kawasan wisata pesisir dengan mengedepankan program pemberdayaan masyarakat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana kemampuan mengelola pembelajaran guru, bagaimana mutu pembelajaran guru dan bagaimana strategi guru dalam kemampuan mengelola dan mutu pembelajaran. penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data melalui pengumpulan data, reduksi data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) kemampuan mengelola pembelajaran guru dikategorikan atas 3 yaitu: a) kategori baik adalah guru menunjukan pengetahuan tentang kemampuan mengelolah pembelajaran; b) kategori cukup baik adalah guru menunjukan kemampuan mengelola pembelajaran dengan menunjukan pengetahuan dengan konsep-konsep pembelajaran secara terstruktur dan sistematis namun tidak menunjukan pengetahuan tentang berbagai pendekatan pedagogis; c) guru kategori kurang baik pada proses pembelajaran adalah perencanaan tujuan pembelajaran yang ingin dicapai tidak nampak (2) mutu pembelajaran guru adalah dengan mengikutkan para guru dalam forum ilmiah yang menunjang mutu pembelajaran guru (3) strategi guru dalam kemampuan mengelola dan mutu pembelajaran adalah perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang matang berdasarkan perangkat pembelajaran dan pendekatan terhadap siswa yang mempunyai kendala dalam proses pembelajaran baik verbal maupun non verbal.This study aims to analyze how teachers' learning management skills are, how the quality of teachers' learning is, and how teachers' strategies are in managing and quality learning. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. In this study, researchers used data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques through data collection, data reduction and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that (1) teachers' learning management skills are categorized into 3, namely: a) good category is teachers showing knowledge about learning management skills; b) fairly good category is teachers showing learning management skills by showing knowledge with learning concepts in a structured and systematic manner but not showing knowledge about various pedagogical approaches; c) teachers in the less good category in the learning process are planning learning objectives to be achieved are not visible (2) the quality of teacher learning is by involving teachers in scientific forums that support the quality of teacher learning (3) teacher strategies in managing and quality learning skills are mature learning planning and implementation based on learning tools and approaches to students who have obstacles in the learning process, both verbal and non-verbal.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of social interaction in forming and maintaining the symbolic meaning of Tedong Bonga in the Tanah Toraja Society . The study uses an explanatory case study approach and uses a purposive sampling technique with 1 key informant, namely a traditional figure and 7 supporting informants, youth or students from Tana Toraja. Data collection in this study was carried out through interviews, observations and documentation. The data analysis technique used was qualitative. This study uses triangulation to obtain data validity. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that tedong bonga is a cultural symbol that has spiritual, social, and economic meaning for the Toraja Society . This meaning is formed and maintained through social interaction in the Rambu Solo' procession, activities at the animal market, and informal education by traditional elders. In addition to being a symbol of respect for ancestors, tedong bonga also reflects the social status of the family. The role of traditional elders is very important in passing on these values ​​to the younger generation so that they remain sustainable amidst changing times.

Abstract

Transgender sex workers often experience discrimination, social stigma, psychological pressure, and limited access to employment, education, and legal protection. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the psychological impacts on transgender sex workers, based on interviews with four informants in the Sawerigading area of Makassar City, selected through purposive sampling. This research employs a qualitative case study approach using interviews and observations to understand the psychological impacts in a deep and contextual manner. Data were analyzed thematically through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that transgender sex workers in Sawerigading experience psychological pressure due to stigma, discrimination, and economic demands. The conflict between self-acceptance and social rejection generates stress, anxiety, and the use of defense mechanisms. The lack of social support worsens their mental condition, indicating the need for serious attention to create a fair, inclusive, and humane environment. Therefore, it is crucial to improve access to mental health services, public education to reduce stigma, strengthen social support, and develop inclusive policies that protect the rights and dignity of transgender individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of implementing a deep learning approach within the Merdeka Curriculum framework on the character development of students at Amanah Nusantara High School. The urgency of this research arises from the growing national demand for educational practices that not only strengthen students’ cognitive mastery but also cultivate character values aligned with the Profile of Pancasila Students an area where empirical evidence remains limited, particularly in digital era learning contexts. This study employs a mixed-methods design using a one-group pretest–posttest model. The research participants consist of 29 eleventh-grade students and two Sociology teachers. Quantitative data were collected through a character education questionnaire encompassing responsibility, honesty, care, social awareness, and work ethic, while qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews and observations of classroom activities. Descriptive analysis indicates an improvement in the mean character education score from 72.3 (SD = 8.9) in the pretest to 78.9 (SD = 7.4) in the posttest. The Shapiro–Wilk test confirmed normal data distribution (p > 0.05), and a paired-samples t-test showed a significant increase, t(28) = 4.12, p = 0.0003, with a medium-to-large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.76). Qualitative findings further reveal that the deep learning approach enhances student participation, moral value reflection, and collaborative work, especially during activity-based learning. However, several challenges emerged, including time limitations and the absence of comprehensive character assessment instruments. Overall, the findings confirm that the deep learning approach is effective in cultivating students’ character through reflective, collaborative, and project-based activities aligned with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and the Pancasila Student Profile. The study highlights an urgent need for systematic teacher training and the development of character assessment frameworks to support sustainable deep learning practices in Indonesian schools.

Abstract

Kekerasan seksual adalah momok yang sangat menakutkan, sejak tahun 2021 sampai dengan tahun 2024 tercatat sedikitnya terdapat 82 kasus kekerasan seksual yang terjadi di lingkungan kampus yang terdaftar di Komnas Perempuan, angka ini masih terbilang sedikit dengan melihat banyaknya kasus yang belum sempat dilaporkan atau bahkan cenderung ditutup-tutupi. Fenomena seperti ini sering kita sebut dengan fenomena gunung es, dimana kasus yang muncul dipermukaan hanya segelintir namun kenyataannya kasus serupa sangat banyak yang tidak terekspose. Kasus kekerasan seksual setidaknya telah diatur dalam Undang undang No. 12 Tahun 2022 tentang Tindak Pidana Kekerasan Seksual, Permendikbudristek No. 30 Tahun 2021 tetang Pencegahan dan Penanganan Kekerasan Seksual di Lingkungan Perguruan tinggi, kemudian diperbaharui menjadi Permendikbudristek No. 55 Tahun 2024 tentang Pencegahan dan Penanganan Kekerasan di Lingkungan Perguruan Tinggi (PPKPT). Regulasi yang hadir nyatanya masih menyisakan tanda tanya karena kekerasan seksual masih saja kita temukan, untuk itu hadir sebuah metode baru dalam hal penanganan dan pencegahan kekerasan seksaul yang dikenal dengan metode intervensi BANTU yang melibatkan semua elemen masyarakat dengan tujuan betul-betul memberantas tindak kekerasan seksual di lingkungan kampus dengan membangun kesadaran bersama oleh setiap warga kampus. Kata kunci: Kekerasan, Seksual, Metode, BANTU
