Abstract

Perlindungan diri merupakan kemampuan yang harus dimiliki setiap individu untuk menghindari berbagai bentuk kejahatan termasuk kekerasan seksual. Penelitian sebelumnya banyak membahas pencegahan dari sisi orang dewasa, namun jarang menyoroti langsung kemampuan perlindungan diri anak. Penelitian ini merupakan intervensi pre-post-test design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bertujuan melihat efektivitas Program Pelatihan Perlindungan Diri (P3D) dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan perlindungan diri sebagai upaya pencegahan kekerasan seksual. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 45 orang anak perempuan usia 7-8 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen penelitian dan dianalisis menggunakan Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Hasilnya menunjukan adanya peningkatan rata-rata pengetahuan yang signifikan sebelum dan setelah memperoleh pelatihan. Pengetahuan tersebut bersifat menetap pada follow up test yang dilakukan setelah jeda waktu dua minggu. Pada penelitian selanjutnya dapat dilakukan follow up test berulang untuk mengukur konsistensi pengetahuan anak. Hasil penelitian dan modul yang digunakan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh lembaga perlindungan anak, orang tua dan guru di sekolah dalam mencegah kekerasan seksual pada anak usia dini.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship and influence of academic motivation and perceived creativity fostering teacher behavior (P-CFTB) on student engagement in Statistics online learning courses in Indonesia. The research used a cross-sectional design study with a quantitative approach. Three standardized scales (academic motivation scale, perceived creativity fostering teacher index, and university student engagement inventory) were filled out by 533 psychology undergraduates who participated. All data were analyzed statistically by descriptive, correlational, and multiple linear regression tests. The results show that academic motivation and student engagement, P-CFTB and student engagement were related moderately and positively (r = 0.582, r = 0.593; p < .001, respectively). Furthermore, academic motivation and P-CFTB simultaneously affected students’ learning engagement by 48%. The result shows that when students’ academic motivation is combined with creativity fostering teacher behavior, student engagement in online learning increases.

Abstract

Students avoid statistics class because they believe it is tough, however, the topic will be easier to understand if they participate in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to discover the relationship between perceived creativity fostering teacher behavior and student engagement, as well as the role of academic self-efficacy as a mediator in statistics courses for undergraduate psychology students. This is a quantitative study that uses mediation analysis. The data was collected using the University Student Engagement Inventory, the Perceived Creativity Fostering Teacher Index, and the College Academic Self-Efficacy Scale, with 533 participants. The participant criteria were Bachelor of Psychology students who had completed and passed the Statistics course no more than three semesters before filling out the survey questionnaire. The findings reveal that the perceived creativity fostering teacher behavior has an effect on SE through the academic self-efficacy variable. However, because perceived creativity fostering teacher behavior can directly influence self-efficacy, there is a partial mediation effect between variables. This study implies that one way to improve students' involvement in statistics learning is to increase perceived creativity fostering teacher behavior and self-efficacy.

Abstract

Analyzing human potential by using fingerprint analysis makes fingerprint analysis can be an alternative method to understand human potential. Before this trend became popular, psychological assessment is the best way to assess human ability for a certain purpose, such as selection, placement test, etc. There is a significant difference between those approaches that needed to be carefully studied, especially for fingerprint analysis. The accuracy of fingerprint analysis can reach to 90% even can figure out 13 weeks old babies' potentials. Scientifically there is no support evidence for this study. In psychology, there is a theory about human development that is not only determined by genetics. Environment brings great influence in determining psychological changes in human. This study focuses on the differences of the results between two approaches, conventional psychological assessment (TKD) and fingerprint analysis. In order to make this study to be more specific, this study will only examine two types of multiple intelligence, which are verbal linguistic and mathematical logic. The results of the study show that fingerprint analysis differs from TKD in assessing verbal linguistic intelligence but not in mathematical logic intelligence. Secondly, the result of fingerprint analysis in verbal-linguistic intelligence and mathematical logic are insignificant can predict actual condition that TKD has.

Abstract

The 4.0 industrial revolution that is taking place in Indonesia has created a changing situation, which has left SMK students confused in choosing careers after graduating from school. This problem can be overcome if students have a career decision self-efficacy (CDSE). This study aims to determine the effect of planned happenstance skills on CDSE mediated by career exploration behavior. This research was conducted on 789 vocational students (399 male students, 390 female students) in the Depok and Jakarta areas. The results showed that the career decision self-efficacy of vocational students was influenced by planned happenstance skills and mediated by career exploration behavior, even with a low level of correlation. Based on the results of this study, career counselors can help vocational students improve career decision self-efficacy by teaching planned happenstance skills.

Abstract

Distance learning as an impact of COVID-19 pandemic becomes a challenge for teacher effectiveness. The current study examined the role of psychological capital as a mediator of the relationship between openness to experience and teacher effectiveness. This study involved 172 senior high school teachers in Jabodetabek as respondents who are currently conducting distance learning. Respondents are 117 female teachers (68%) and 55 male teachers (32%) who have teaching experience in the range of 5 months to 35 years (M = 161.34, SD = 121.8). The mediation analysis results revealed a significant indirect effect between openness to experience and teacher effectiveness through psychological capital, ? = .999, p < .01, 95% CI [.668, 1.369]. These findings prove that psychological capital mediates the relationship between openness to experience and teacher effectiveness. Therefore, teachers should have high openness to experience to increase psychological capital so teacher effectiveness will also increase.

Abstract

Understanding and improving teacher well-being are essential prerequisites for effective teaching. However, studies on teacher well-being in Indonesia are few. This mixed-method study was conducted to identify the factors that influence the well-being of teachers in primary schools in Indonesia. Data were collected through self-rating and open-ended questions from 209 primary school teachers followed by semi-structured interviews with eight teachers. The results of the self- rating survey illustrated that the teachers were very satisfied with their lives as a teacher. Well-being was considered important in their work, because it can exert a positive impact on students. The results of the thematic analysis demonstrated that relational and professional dimensions are the most frequently cited themes in the responses as factors that support and inhibit well-being. The lack of learning facilities and infrastructure in schools are cited as the most inhibiting factors. The study discussed potential explanations for the findings in relation to teacher well-being.

Abstract

Pendekatan membacakan buku cerita oleh guru akan membantu anak meningkatkan keterampilan kognitifnya dalam memahami cerita yang dibacakan sebelum memasuki tahapan pembaca mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara pendekatan shared book reading (SBR) dan pemahaman anak terhadap cerita. Penelitian ini menggunakan within subject designdengan melakukan kontrol kondisi untuk membandingkan skor pemahaman anak terhadap cerita pada masing-masing kondisi yang diberikan. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 orang guru dan 21 orang anak (rentang usia 4-5 tahun) di Satuan PAUD Sejenis (SPS). Data kuantitatif yang diperoleh mengenai pemahaman anak terhadap cerita dianalisa menggunakan uji sign test. Penelitian ini juga memberikan pelatihan pada guru serta melakukan pengukuran terhadap keterampilan guru. Pengukuran pemahaman anak terhadap cerita dan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan pendekatan saat membacakan buku cerita dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali pada tahap pre-test,post test 1dan post test 2, untuk melihat peningkatan yang terjadi setelah pemberian intervensi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan skor pemahaman anak terhadap cerita saat guru membacakan cerita dengan pendekatan SBR dengan nilai probabilitas lebih kecil dari 0.05, yaitu 0.01. Hasil tersebut berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan skor keterampilan yang diperoleh guru setelah diberikan pelatihan pendekatan SBR yang ditampilkan di dalam grafik.

Abstract

Dalam Riset Kesehatan Dasar 2013 di Indonesia, permasalahan gizi pada anak salah satunya adalah angka obesitas yang masih tinggi. Angka kejadian obesitas ini secara global akan meningkat dengan prediksi mencapai 9,1% atau sebanyak 60 juta anak pada tahun 2020. Obesitas tidak hanya merugikan secara fisik tetapi juga secara psikologis. Permasalahan psikologis yang dialami oleh anak-anak obesitas adalah body image discontent atau ketidakpuasan anak terhadap bentuk tubuhnya. Hal ini dapat terjadi sejak usia dini dikarenakan perlakuan bully dari pihak keluarga ataupun teman mengenai bentuk tubuhnya. Salah satu faktor yang berperan dalam kejadian obesitas adalah minimnya kontrol diri terkait perilaku makan. Perilaku makan yang dimaksud adalah mengonsumsi makanan yang tidak sehat (tinggi kalori) atau mengonsumsi makan dalam jumlah yang berlebihan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memperbaiki kemampuan kontrol diri terkait perilaku makan pada anak obesitas usia 6 – 8 tahun. Teknik yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan metode penggolongan makanan (berdasarkan jenis, porsi, dan frekuensi) mengikuti aturan warna lampu lalu lintas yang disebut dengan ‘Lampu Lalu Lintas Makanku’. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain before-after experimentaldan dianggap dapat memperbaiki kontrol diri terkait perilaku makan pada anak obesitas usia 6 – 8 tahun dinilai dari perbaikan skor pre test dan post test partisipan.

Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan masa yang sangat penting dalam pengembangan karier. Dukungan orang tua dan juga keterampilan remaja dalam memanfaatkan peristiwa tak terduga sebagai peluang karier memengaruhi efikasi diri dalam membuat keputusan karier. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran planned happenstance dalam memediasi hubungan career-related parent support dan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier pada siswa SMP. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 136 siswa SMP. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Career-Related Parent Support Scale, Career Decision Self-Efficacy-Short Form, dan Planned Happenstance Career Inventory yang diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa career-related parent support memengaruhi efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier secara langsung maupun melalui mediasi planned happenstance. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat menganalisis hubungan career-related parent support dan planned happenstance.
