Learning is essentially a process of interaction between students and their environment, resulting in a change in behavior for the better. The results of observations made at Nusalaut Central Maluku Christian High School in history subjects, it is known that the cognitive learning outcomes of students are still low. One learning model that can train students in overcoming these problems is to apply the problem solving model. This study aims to improve history learning outcomes through a problem solving model in class XI students for the 2022/2023 academic year. The subjects of this class action research were 30 students in class XI as the recipients of the action, while the subjects of the action were the history teacher as the teacher, colleagues as the subjects observing the learning process, and the school principal as the data source subject. Methods of data collection are done through test techniques, observation and documentation. This action research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of this study indicate that the use of problem solving learning models can improve the history learning outcomes of class XI SMA Kristen Nusalaut. This can be seen from the average value of student history learning outcomes which also increased, namely before the action of 70.93 in the first cycle of 77.85 and in the second cycle of 85.46. In addition, the percentage of student learning completeness, namely before the action was 66.67%, in cycle I was 73.33% and in cycle II was 93.33%.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to reconstruct the past of the VOC (Verenigde Oouts Indiche Compagnie) activities in Pontianak, West Kalimantan in the 16th century to the attempt to occupy the area for trade purposes and then the efforts of the Dutch East Indies government to legitimize its power in the early 18th century. this paper is to reconstruct the traces of the VOC, the Dutch East Indies trading company in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. The area which was originally under the rule of the first Sultan of Pontianak Syarif Abdurrahman who pioneered the initial settlement and trading activities with traders from the archipelago and the outside world is also highlighted in this research. Therefore, the problems that will be studied in this research are: 1) What were the conditions of the early life of the people of Pontianak before the arrival of the VOC? 2) What was the attitude of the local authorities and the community when they received the VOC in Pontianak? 3) What was the main purpose of the VOC occupying the Pontianak Territory? 4) How was the process of forming the administrative area of the Dutch East Indies in Pontianak? The method used in this writing is the historical method which consists of heuristics, verification, and interpretation stages to make a deeper analysis and interpretation of the data that has been criticized and then sorted to arrive at the last stage, namely Historiography. The results of the reconstruction of the VOC traces to efforts to legitimize the power of the Dutch East Indies government in Pontianak show that due to competition in the world of trade between various traders from the archipelago and China, England, India, Portugal, Spain in Pontianak resulted in occupation and colonization by the Dutch. In addition, the occupation of the Pontianak area by the Dutch was to dispel pirates who always made traders uncomfortable from the Malacca Strait, the West Coast of Borneo, the Sulu Islands, Mindanau to the Maluku islands.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the history of the Wapauwe Old Mosque including the architectural aspects and the objects in it. The study employed archaeological approach using a systematic procedure based on four main steps, namely: heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Historical approach was taken to describe the historical background of the mosque. At the same time, the archaeological process was used to describe the physical structure of the mosque building. This study found that the Wapauwe Mosque is one of the oldest historical mosques in Maluku, located in Kaitetu State, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province. It was built in 1414 by an Islamic preacher, namely Perdana Jamilu. Wapauwe Mosque’s ancient characteristics can be seen from thatched leaves as the roof and gaba-gaba (sago fronds) as walls. The mosque was built without using nails in each connection segment. The function of pins was substituted by ties from ropes or gamuttu. At the four corners of the mosque's tributary, there was wood carved with calligraphy written: Muhammad (north-south corner) and Allah Muhammad (east-west junction). Abstract

Tan Malaka was a militant, radical, and revolutionary fighter who contributed many original ideas towards achieving Indonesia's independence. Discussing Tan Malaka is highly contradictory because his name is often associated with Marxist communism, which is banned in Indonesia. However, he was not a fundamentalist Marxist; instead, he used Marxism as a tool in the struggle to achieve the goal of Indonesian independence. As a result, Tan Malaka's name has never been seriously introduced to the public, especially to the younger generation in the educational system. The purpose of this article is to analyze Tan Malaka's struggle in order to revive his legacy, which has been buried in oblivion, and to instil his fighting spirit and exemplary character in the process of shaping the current generation. The method used in writing this article is a literature study. The results of this article indicate that Tan Malaka's existence should be equated with the founders of Indonesia, with the hope that his ideas, as expressed in his works, can be used as a reference for building a better nation in the future. Though Tan Malaka is no longer with us, his fighting spirit can serve as an example for the present generation.

Abstract

Education is the main key in building an intelligent and competitive generation. However, in remote areas such as Werwaru Village, Southwest Maluku, the challenges in education are quite significant, especially in increasing children's interest in learning. Gaps in facilities, lack of motivation, and limited resources are the main obstacles to their academic development. This research aims to explore the role of free tutoring activities carried out by KKN students at Pattimura University PSDKU MBD in increasing children's interest in learning in Werwaru Village. This program is carried out for 30 days with a frequency of three times a week and involves various interactive and creative learning methods, such as group learning, personal approaches, and educational games. The research results showed an increase in children's motivation and enthusiasm for learning, which was reflected in improvements in understanding of subject matter and increased student test scores. However, challenges related to program sustainability remain a major concern, especially after KKN students complete their assignments. This research suggests the need for partnerships with local institutions to ensure this program can continue to run and have a positive impact on future generations.

The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with an experimental design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 42 students and 1 teacher. Data collection techniques through questionnaires in the form of pre-test and post-test statements with a Likert scale of 5 to assess student activity and learning outcomes. Data analysis used a paired sample t-test to determine whether there was an influence between the two variables assisted by the SPSS Version 26 program. The results showed that the use of animated videos in social studies learning was stated to be effective so that learning activities took place optimally and were able to improve activeness and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students learning outcomes on the topic of World War II by using the Flipped Classroom learning model for 11th-grade students at SMA PGRI 1 Kairatu. This research is a classroom action research conducted at SMA PGRI 1 Kairatu. The subjects of the study were 30 students in grade XI. Data collection techniques included observation, questionnaires, and written tests. The test results showed an increase in classical completeness, where at the initial test only 10 students (33%) met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), which improved to 20 students (67%) in cycle I, and in cycle II reached 28 students (93%) who achieved mastery according to the KKM. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Flipped Classroom learning model has a positive impact on improving students learning outcomes on the World War II topic in grade XI at SMA PGRI 1 Kairatu.
