Abstract

The Workshop on Using Articulate Storyline to develop learning media for Junior High School Teachers in Agam Regency aims to provide training for teachers so that they are able to develop their own learning media according to the characteristics of their students. This activity was successful in increasing teachers' conceptual understanding and practical skills in integrating learning technology. Post-workshop evaluation revealed significant improvements in teachers' conceptual understanding regarding the use of Articulate Storyline for online and/or digital learning at the Junior High School level. Participants gain in-depth insight into the user interface, key features, and potential applications. In addition, this workshop was effective in improving participants' practical skills, including designing interactive learning materials, selecting appropriate media, and integrating multimedia elements. The result is that teachers feel more confident and ready to face the challenges of online and/or digital learning and are able to create more dynamic learning. The transformation of the teaching paradigm is the main highlight, namely teachers experiencing a positive shift in their approach to technology in everyday teaching. This workshop not only provides technical expertise, but also creates the foundation for a mutually supportive and inspiring learning community in Agam Regency. Overall, this workshop succeeded in creating a positive and sustainable impact in improving the skills and learning approaches of junior high school teachers in Agam Regency.

Abstract

The Kurikulum Merdeka provides freedom for schools, educators and students to innovate, learn creatively and independently. Then, along with the technology development, teachers are also demanded to innovate materials for teaching to help the process of learning in related with the curriculum. The results of observations in the field shown that the material for teaching used have few practice questions related to daily life and the material is quite dense, so teaching materials are needed that contain more questions related to daily life. To overcome this problem, the innovation provided is an Integrated Science E-module Oriented to Problem Based Learning. The research aims are to produce an Integrated Science E-Module Oriented to Problem Based Learning on Organ System Material that is has validity and practicality to use for class VIII SMP students. The research type used is research and development (R&D), using a 4-D model which have 4 phases, that are define, design, develop and disseminate. However, the research just conducted until the development phase. The instruments in this research were a validation questionnaire sheet and a practicality questionnaire sheet. The test of validity results obtained a value of 83.43% in the category in very valid. The test of practicality results by the teacher obtained a score of 98.61% in the category in very practical and the test of practicality results by students obtained a score of 89.51% in the category in very practical. According on these results, the conclusion that the Integrated Science E-Module with Problem Based Learning Orientation on Organ System Material has met the valid and practical category for use by class VIII SMP students.

Abstract

Background: Science literacy is the capacity to use clinical information to pick out troubles and draw conclusions based totally on proof so that you can understand and make selections approximately nature and modifications made to nature via human activities. Based on PISA data and preliminary study data, the literacy of science competencies of Indonesian students is still low. One of the learnings that has a positive influence on science literacy is problem-based learning (PBL). Methods: This study applied the Quasi Experiment method with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Gunung Talang, Solok Regency, West Sumatra in class VII in the 2023/2024 school year. Results: The average value of the experimental class is higher than the average of the control class on the posttest data. The hypothesis test results show that t'count 3.372 is greater than t'table 2.008, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Conclusion: The application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model affects the science literacy skills of students in Indonesian Ecology and Biodiversity material.

Abstract

Kurikulum merdeka was implemented in 2022. The characteristics of the kurikulum merdeka were the development of soft skills and character, focus on essential materials, and flexible learning. The low learning outcomes of students were still a problem. One of the efforts that can be done was to apply the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by performance assessment. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by performance assessment on the learning outcomes of grade VIII students on organ system material. This type of research was Quasi Experiment, with a Non Equivalent Control Group Design research design. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The experimental class used the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by performance assessment while the control class used conventional methods. Based on the hypothesis test with the t test, the calculated value = 2.654 and ttable = 2.006. From the data shows that if tcalculate > ttable, h1 was accepted, it was concluded that there was an influence of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by performance assessment on the cognitive learning outcomes of grade VIII students on organ system material.

Abstract

This research .was based on the results of a preliminary study conducted at SMPN 16 Padang, which showed that students' cognitive learning outcomes were still not optimal in science learning. This research aims to determine the influence of the video-assisted Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on learning outcomes for Indonesian Ecology and Biodiversity Material. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a non equivalent control group design research design. The population in this study were all the 7th grader at SMPN 16 Padang. Sampling used purposive sampling technique. So we obtained one experimental class by applying the video-assisted Problem Based Learning model, namely class VII.6 and one control class with the conventional learning model, namely class VII.7. Data collection was carried out through pre-test and post-test. The data obtained were analyzed using inferential statistical analysis and the results obtained from the similarity test of the two pre-test and post-test averages were respectively 0.067 for the pre-test sig, and 0.000 for the post-test sig, which means that H0 is rejected or there is a significant difference in both classes because sig < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the application of the video-assisted PBL model on the learning outcomes of Indonesian ecology and biodiversity material.

Abstract

Inquiry enables the student to learn through many activities that can improve student attitudes, processes, and thinking skills. Inquiry learning helps students develop their ability to solve the problem, think critically and reflectively. Applying inquiry-based activities in laboratory courses is one way to prompt the student-centered learning in general biology courses. The research aimed to develop a valid and practical inquiry-based laboratory manual for biology education students. This study used the ADDIE model to develop the product, the stages involve analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation was conducted on 30 biology education students who take general biology courses. The data were collected by the validation sheet and questionnaire of student responses. The inquiry-based laboratory manual that has been developed gets a very decent category as a validation result. Practical of inquiry-based laboratory manual obtained from student response and it got a very practical category. The product is expected able to guide the student to do an inquiry process in laboratory activities.

Abstract

Pembelajaran menjadi aspek yang sangat menentukan dalam penilaian adiwiyata. Namun, merancang pembelajaran terintegrasi adiwiyata masih menjadi kendala bagi guru. Sehingga sebagian besar sekolah tidak dapat mencapai batas minimum untuk lolos menjadi sekolah adiwiyata baik tingkat kota, provinsi, maupun nasional. Selain lemah dalam merancang pembelajaran berupa RPP, guru juga kurang mampu mengangkat isu lokal. Sedangkan sekolah adiwiyata di Tanjungpinang baru mencapai tidak lebih dari 20%. Peningkatan kemampuan guru Tanjungpinang dalam menyusun RPP terintegrasi adiwiyata yang berbasis kearifan lokal mutlak diperlukan agar sekolah adiwiyata di Tanjungpinang semakin meningkat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini dilakukan bagi guru-guru calon sekolah adiwiyata tingkat kota, sekolah adiwiyata tingkat kota, dan sekolah adiwiyata tingkat provinsi di Tanjungpinang. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan dan pendampingan penyusunan RPP. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyusun RPP terintegrasi adiwiyata berbasis isu-isu kritis lokal bagi guru-guru di Kota Tanjungpinang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dalam bentuk tatap muka dan daring mulai tanggal 10-17 Oktober 2018. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan PKM bagi guru-guru berlangsung dengan baik. Guru-guru antusias dan terlibat aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan. Hampir semua guru sudah mampu meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam menyusun RPP. RPP yang digunakan oleh sekolah adiwiyata sebenarnya sama dengan RPP sesuai regulasi kurikulum Kemendiknas, karena regulasi kurikulum sudah memuat pelestarian lingkungan. Dengan demikian tidak ada istilah khusus untuk RPP dan kurikulum sekolah yang melaksanakan adiwiyata.

Abstract

Data dari PISA, penelitian terdahulu, observasi kelas, serta studi awal di SMPN 26 Padang menunjukkan bahwa literasi sains siswa masih tergolong rendah. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan ini, diterapkan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen tipe Nonequivalent Control Group Design dan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VIII, dengan kelas VIII.1 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan VIII.4 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri atas soal literasi sains, angket respons siswa, dan lembar observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil uji beda rata-rata parametrik menunjukkan nilai thitung sebesar 8,0815 dan ttabel sebesar 2,0032, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran model PBL tergolong sangat baik, dengan persentase keterlaksanaan sebesar 96%. Angket siswa menunjukkan respons positif sebesar 94%. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran berbasis masalah terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan literasi sains siswa kelas VIII IPA di SMPN 26 Padang.

Abstract

Cognitive ability is one of the essential aspects emphasized in the Merdeka Curriculum. One of the ways to enhance students’ cognitive ability is by applying the Project Based Learning-STEM (PjBL-STEM) model. This research was motivated by observations conducted on Grade VIII students at SMPN 21 Padang during the 2024/2025 academic year. The observations revealed that although the teacher implemented the PjBL-STEM model, its application was not fully optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the PjBL-STEM learning model on students’ cognitive ability on the topic of vibration and wave. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a posttest control group design. Purposive sampling was used to select the samples. Grade VIII students taught using the PjBL-STEM model served as the experimental group, while another Grade VIII class taught using conventional discovery learning served as the control group. The research instrument was an objective written test. The collected data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. The t-test results showed a t-count of 10.283 and a t-table value of 2.036, where tcount ≥ ttable. Therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, indicating a significant effect of the PjBL-STEM model on students’ cognitive ability in junior high school.

Abstract

The general background of this research is the limited teaching materials equipped with project-based learning assessment instruments as recommended in Kurikulum Merdeka. The purpose of this research is to produce a Project Based Learning (PjBL) based e-module on the structure and function of living creatures topic that is valid, practical and effective.The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with 4-D model’s consisting of the stages of defining, designing, developing and disseminating. However, this research was only untill the development stage due to time constraints. The research instruments consist of teacher questionnaires, student questionnaires, validity test questionnaires, practicality test questionnaires, and effectiveness test questionnaires. The data obtained was analyzed using a formula to analyze the results of validity, practicality and effectiveness tests. The research results show that the PjBL-based e-module developed is valid with an average 88%. The level of practicality is practical with an average 88%. The level of effectiveness is effective which is 84% ​​on average. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the PjBL-based science learning e-module on the material Structure and Function of the Body of Living Creatures meets the valid, practical and effective categories.
