Abstract

Background: The results of interviews of 15 students who have low motivation are because students who are too active in organizations will generally be distracted by organizational activities such as meetings and activities outside of lectures, especially for students who have not been able to manage the time between lectures and the organization so that the consequence is that students One of the reasons for low motivation and learning achievement is that the academic score is not enough, even if it is not passed on time Learning achievement can be influenced by motivation, among others, starting from the stimulus process (stimulation) given to students can be accepted or rejected. If the stimulus is not accepted, it means that the stimulus cannot influence learning achievement. However, if students receive the stimulus well, then there is attention from the student, and the stimulus effectively affects learning achievement. If the stimulus is accepted, students understand this stimulus and proceed to the next process. After that, students process the stimulus so that there is a willingness to learn for the stimulus's sake. Finally, with the support of facilities and encouragement from the environment, the stimulus affects action or changes in student motivation to be more active in learning. Objective: To explore the relationship between learning motivation and learning achievement in students who organize at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UMSurabaya) the academic year 2014-2015.Methods: Cross-sectional approach to correlational analytic research. Results: The research results of 65 students organized at FIK UMSurabaya academic year 2014-2015 found the right learning motivation, namely as many as 33 (51%). Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) alters blood biophysics, yet most bioelectrical impedance spectroscopy (BIS) studies examine only glucose and overlook hematological or morphological factors. This comparative study analyzed venous blood samples from normoglycemic individuals (n = 5) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients (n = 5) under fasting and postprandial conditions. Assessments included glucose, hemoglobin, complete blood count, erythrocyte morphology, and wide-band BIS (100 Hz – 100 kHz). T2DM patients consistently showed higher impedance than controls, with partial reductions postprandially but clear intergroup separation. Morphological analysis revealed an increased number of abnormal erythrocytes, including schistocytes, teardrops, and elliptocytes, consistent with membrane remodeling and hemorheological disturbance. Wide-band BIS detected frequency-dependent signatures shaped by glucose, hemoglobin, membrane capacitance, and cytoplasmic resistance. By integrating biochemical, hematological, and morphological data, this study established a multidimensional electrohematological profile of diabetes. Including both fasting and postprandial states addressed a key gap in previous BIS work and emphasized the clinical relevance of postprandial variability. These findings highlight BIS as a promising, non-invasive adjunct for diabetes monitoring, with translational potential for hybrid diagnostic strategies, wearable sensors, and point-of-care technologies.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus has raised concerns about structural and functional changes in blood cells, as well as changes in blood impedance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between electrical impedance values measured with the Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer (BIA) in diabetes patients. Blood samples were collected from 5 healthy people and 5 diabetes patients for the study. Electrical impedance testing with a BIA. The impedance method determines the electrical properties of blood by measuring its resistance and reactance at various frequencies. The results of the BIA are analyzed and compared to body health parameters such as the blood glucose level index. The average electrical impedance value in diabetes mellitus patients measured at a frequency of 100 Hz to 100 kHz with a current injection of 10 μA was found to be lower than the average electrical impedance value in healthy people. This study shows that the electrical impedance value of diabetes mellitus patients is lower than the impedance value of healthy people. This is consistent with diabetes mellitus patients' blood glucose levels, which are higher than healthy people's blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Blood, a vital tissue comprising blood cells within the plasma matrix, plays a crucial role in transporting oxygen, nutrients, and functional components throughout the body. Insufficient blood levels can lead to disorders or life-threatening conditions, necessitating blood transfusions for those experiencing deficiencies. Blood banks store blood products to meet transfusion needs, emphasizing safety, donor health, patient conditions, cross-matching accuracy, and storage quality. Examining stored blood indicates an individual's physiological response to environmental changes, with quantitative and qualitative changes visible through whole blood cell count and impedance parameters. Electrical impedance spectroscopy, which measures these biological properties, shows that although blood cell count remains stable over 35 days, impedance characteristics change significantly. Analysis of the Nyquist Zriil plot reveals a consistent decrease in Zriil values, indicating reduced extracellular resistance (Res) over time. These impedance changes reflect alterations in blood morphology, providing crucial insights into the quality of stored blood. In conclusion, electrical impedance spectroscopy effectively monitors stored blood quality, detecting significant changes in extracellular resistance over extended storage periods. These findings underscore the importance of regular monitoring and proper management of stored blood to ensure its safety and effectiveness for transfusions.
