Abstract

Pengetahuan mengenai Pañca-sīla buddhis sebagai landasan hidup bagi setiap umat Buddha sangatlah penting. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mengkaji Pañca-sīla buddhis dari segi kepustakaan. Penelitian mengenai Pañca-sīla buddhis diteliti secara kualitatif dengan menggunak studi kepustakaan yang mengandalkan buku, artikel, jurnal maupun literatur terkait untuk mengetahui fakta-fakta ilmiah mengenai variabel penelitian terkait. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diketahui bahwa Pañca-sīla buddhis merupakan dasar moral utama Buddhis terdiri dari (1) bertekad melatih diri menghindari pembunuhan makhluk hidup (Pānātippātā Veramani Sikkhāpadam Samā-diyāmi); (2) Bertekad melatih diri menghindari pencurian atau mengambil barang yang tidak diberikan (Adinādānā veramaņĩ sikkhāpadaņ samādiyāmi); (3) Bertekad melatih diri menghindari dari perbuatan asusila (Kāmesumicchācārā veramaņĩ sikkhāpadaņ samādiyāmi); (4) Bertekad melatih diri menghindari ucapan yang tidak benar atau berbohong (Musāvādā veramaņĩ sikkhāpadaņ samādiyāmi); (5) bertekad menghindari minuman yang menyebabkan lemahnya kesadaran (Surāmerayamajjhapamādatthānā veramaņĩ sikkhāpadaņ samādiyāmi). Praktek pañca-sīla buddhis mengarah pada peningkatan pengendalian diri dan kekuatan kepribadian. Tujuan pelaksanaan pañca-sīla buddhis sebagai landasan moral bagi umat Buddha, memuat dua tujuan; Pertama, memungkinkan manusia untuk hidup bersama dalam komunitas beradab dengan saling percaya dan menghormati. Kedua, merupakan titik awal perkembangan spiritual menuju pembebasan. Buddha mengemukakan manfaat dari pelaksanaan pañca-sīla buddhis di dalam Māhaparinībbānā-suttā kepada para perumah tangga antara lain: membuat orang bertambah kaya, mendatangkan nama baik, menimbulkan percaya diri dalam pergaulan dengan berbagai golongan manusia, memberi ketenangan disaat menghadapi kematian, setelah meninggal dunia, akan terlahir kembali dialam surga. Penelitian ini kemudian mempunyai kontribusi terhadap ketekunan dan kegiatan umat Buddha dalam melaksanakan Pañca-sīla buddhis sekaligus untuk memperkaya kajian Buddha Dharma di Indonesia.

Abstract

Kebutuhan manusia bukanlah hanya sandang, pangan dan papan melainkan pendidikan juga merupakan kebutuhan pokok setiap orang. Hal ini dimungkinkan untuk mewujudkan manusia yang memiliki pengetahuan yang baik, sehingga pembangunan mental manusia akan tetap berjalan dengan baik meskipun perkembangan zaman terus melaju pesat seiring berjalannya waktu. Tujuan penelitian ini kemudian adalah untuk mendukung pembangunan moral dalam pendidikan karakter melalui pendidikan agama. Metodologi penelitian yang kemudian digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan buku, jurnal maupun literatur terkait lainnya, yakni studi kepustakaan (library research). Berdasarkan hasil pengumpulan dan analisis data, diketahui bahwa agama Buddha merupakan salah satu agama yang memandang bahwa pendidikan perlu ditanamkan pada setiap manusia sebagai upaya untuk melindunginya dari tindakan kejahatan atau perbuatan yang salah dan mengakibatkan penderitaan. Buddhism memandang pentingnya pendidikan untuk membantu manusia mewujudkan kebahagiaan. Pertama, seseorang harus mempelajari pengetahuan atau mengembangkan teori, selanjutnya seseorang harus bijaksana untuk mempraktikkan dengan sebaik-baiknya pengetahuan yang diperolehnya, dengan demikian seseorang akan mendapatkan hasil sesuai pengetahuan dan praktik yang telah dikembangkan. Adapun implikasi atau kontribusi daripada penelitian ini adalah pembentukan konsep pendidikan dalam pandangan agama Buddha, serta memperkaya wawasan Buddha Dharma bagi umat Buddha Nusantara.

Abstract

Teacher interpersonal communication is an important component of learning that shapes teacher-student interactions. The quality of effective communication can influence students' learning behavior in attention, participation, discipline, and academic responsibility. Observations at Pelita Bangsa Elementary School found suboptimal student learning behavior, including low concentration, low participation, and poor discipline. This condition indicates the importance of examining the influence of teacher interpersonal communication on the learning behavior of Buddhist students. This study aims to analyze the levels of teacher interpersonal communication and Buddhist student learning behavior, and the influence of teacher interpersonal communication on student learning behavior at Pelita Bangsa Elementary School. This study used a quantitative, correlational design through field research. The sample consisted of 38 Buddhist students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The reliability test showed a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.975 for teacher interpersonal communication and 0.981 for learning behavior. Data analysis used simple linear regression and product-moment correlation with SPSS. The results of the study showed t = 7.740 > t table = 1.688 (p < 0.05), a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.790, and a determination coefficient (R²) of 0.625. Teacher interpersonal communication accounted for 62.5% of student learning behavior, while other factors influenced 37.5%. In conclusion, teacher interpersonal communication has a positive and significant influence on the learning behavior of Buddhist students at Pelita Bangsa Elementary School. It is an important factor in optimizing learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to find the effect of adversity quotient intelligence on the learning outcomes of Buddhist religious education. The problems that occur in students are that there are students who admit that they have never received a ranking, rarely study at home, and there are also students who cannot focus for a long time when studying, and the teaching method is less effective. In addition, learning carried out by teachers is still primarily done conventionally, and the lack of learning facilities is also the cause of weak student learning motivation in carrying out the learning process. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population in this study was 133, with a sample of 100 obtained by the Proportional Random Sampling sampling technique. The study results showed a significant adverse effect between adversity quotient intelligence on the learning outcomes of Buddhist religious education with a t count of -3.804 and a significance value (p) of 0.000 <0.05. From the results of the simple regression analysis calculation, the R Square value was obtained at 0.136. This means that adversity quotient intelligence influences the learning outcomes of Buddhist religious education by 13.6%, and other factors influence the remaining 86.4%. The adversity quotient value measures an individual's ability to handle and overcome challenges. Students with high AQ may feel burdened if students face challenges or difficulties in the learning process regularly. Excessive stress and fatigue can harm learning outcomes.

Abstract

The family environment is the first place of education for children because this is where children first receive education and guidance. The research purpose is to explore the influence of the family environment on the motivation of the Buddhist youth in Buddhist Temples throughout Pringsewu Regency in Lmapung Province. The problems faced include low educational motivation allegedly influenced by lack of family support, economic factors, and ineffective communication. The study developed the quantitative method and survey data collection tecnique with a questionnaire and supported by SPSS program This study involved a population of 87 number of people. This study's results show a significant influence of the family environment on educational motivation. These findings show that family support is essential in increasing the motivation of young people in monasteries.

Abstract

This study aimed to find the effect of gamification methods on the enthusiasm of Buddhist Sunday School students to learn. The problems that occur are challenges for Buddhist Sunday School teachers in class management such as human resources, facilities and infrastructure and implementation of learning, low enthusiasm for learning of Buddhist Sunday School students, limitations in using learning methods, some students were seen chatting during the worship service, many pre-kindergarten students played during the worship service, and some children arrived late to Buddhist Sunday School. This study used a quantitative research approach by providing questionnaires to respondents. The subjects of this study are 30 people, obtained by a total sampling technique, namely using the entire population as respondents. The study results showed a significant favorable influence between the gamification method and students' enthusiasm for learning. The study result states that the gamification method affects learning enthusiasm by 52.1%, and other factors influence the remaining value of 47.9%. This study has practical implications in education; gamification can be considered in the learning process, such as using points, levels, or challenges to motivate students and make learning more enjoyable.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of mindfulness and self-efficacy on the emotional regulation of high school students. Emotion regulation is the ability of individuals to manage and control their emotions effectively, which is very important in students' psychological development. Along with the increasing academic and social demands among high school students, mindfulness and self-efficacy are essential to help better regulate emotions. This study uses a quantitative survey method. The research population was 139 high school students, with a sample of 104 students using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires tested for validity and reliability and then analyzed using multiple regression techniques to test the influence of mindfulness and self-efficacy on emotional regulation. The study showed that mindfulness and self-efficacy positively and significantly affected students' emotional regulation. Mindfulness, which includes full attention to the physical body, feelings, and mind, has been proven to help students be more aware of their emotions and manage them more effectively. Self-efficacy, as an individual's belief in their ability to overcome challenges, is significant in helping students cope with difficult emotional situations.

Abstract

The research puropse is to deepen the effect of collaborative learning strategies on improving students' cooperation skills in Buddhist Sunday schools. One of the problems faced in the learning process in Buddhist Sunday schools is that some students do not show good cooperation. In addition, some students are less interested in participating in these activities, which is caused by a dislike of the learning methods applied. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The study population consisted of 44 students, with a sample of 15 students taken through a sampling technique from another monastery. The study was conducted at a Buddhist Sunday school in a monastery, with respondents from students in the 2024/2025 academic year. The analysis results using simple linear regression indicate that collaborative learning strategies significantly affect cooperation among Buddhist Sunday school students. The research has limitation in the period of time to deepen the study and for the next researcher to develop the methodology on do the deeply observation with a case study method.
