Abstract

Setiap kesenian tentu memiliki pesan tersirat yang ingin disampaikan oleh penciptanya baik melalui gerakan, bentuk, visual maupun audio, dan dapat dikatakan kesenian merupakan suatu sarana dalam mengekspresikan jiwa dan keindahan. Secara tidak langsung kesenian merupakan warisan budaya yang harus dilestarikan dan dijaga agar tidak punah. Jurig sarengseng yang merupakan kesenian asli Kota Banjar yang berasal dari Desa Binangun dan salah satu Warisan Budaya Takbenda Indonesia tentu harus dilestarikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu pelestarian kesenian jurig sarengseng dengan memanfaatkan media sosial yang dimana menganalisis terlebih dahulu jenis dari media sosial dan kegiatan apa saja yang bisa dilakukan pada media sosial tersebut yang dirasa akan pas sebagai salah satu sarana agar jurig sarengseng dapat lestari tidak hilang oleh waktu dan tergeser oleh perkembangan zaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dari ketujuh jenis media sosial beserta kegiatanya, terdapat dua yang dirasa pas dalam pelestarikan jurig sarengseng. Yaitu Media Sharing Networks dan Live Stream Social Media.

Abstract

Pemerintah menyatakan pandemi telah berakhir, namun beberapa kebiasaan baik yang telah dipelajari anak-anak saat pandemi harus dipertahankan agar tetap sehat. Buku komik seri Jojo Anak Jatinangor dari Pusat Studi Komunikasi Kesehatan Universitas Padjadjaran kembali hadir di tahun 2023 dengan format yang berbeda, yaitu buku saku kebiasaan baik. Buku ini menjadi media promosi kesehatan dalam kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PPM). Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk menyosialisasikan tata cara mencuci tangan melalui media buku saku “Sehat Ceria Setelah Pandemi” pada anak-anak di empat Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) Kecamatan Jatinangor. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode storytelling dan observasi pada perilaku peserta sebelum dan setelah dibacakan buku. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat perubahan cara mencuci tangan para peserta yang telah dibacakan buku oleh storyteller.

Abstract

Background: Batik, as an Indonesian art form, has not only evolved but also adapted to present needs while maintaning its cultural roots. Moreover, the current surge in batik sales brings both benefits and challenges for artisans. Purpose: The study examines public relations strategies aimed at enhancing Batik’s image, promoting cultural heritage, and supporting the local economy. Methods: This study employed the social constructivism approach to gain insight into the cultural heritage of Trusmi Batik. The research methodology encompassed the use of observation, interviews, and documentation as techniques to thoroughly comprehend the subject matter. Results: Trusmi Village, renowned for its distinctive batik art, has transformed into a popular shopping center and tourist hotspot. The batik industry seeks to boost household income and capitalize on its proximity to transportation routes. This expansion has not only generated new employment opportunities but has also inspired ventures beyond the field. Additionally, government support and the role of social media in corporate communications have played crucial roles in contributing to the success of Trusmi. Conclusion: The batik industry in Trusmi has brought about a transformation in the region, providing job opportunities and fostering economic prosperity for entrepreneurs and the overall economy. Government investments in branding and the role of social media have played significant roles in contributing to its growth. Additionally, community efforts have resulted in economic benefits, population growth, and advantages in terms of tourism. Implications: The growth of the Trusmi Batik industry holds significant implications, highlighting the significance of promoting cultural heritage and storytelling. Furthermore, it contributes to economic progress, social cohesion, and community ties. Government assistance is paramount in ensuring the enduring sustainability and expansion of the sector.

Abstract

Access to scientific information resources needs to be used by many academicians, especially the students. Some of articles are paywall article so scholarly publications cannot all be freely accessed via the internet and there is an information gap. Because of this, many students access information sources through pirate open access called Sci-Hub. This study aims to determine the differences between male and female students in accessing scientific information sources through Sci-Hub open access pirates. This research provides a gender perspective based on the theory of planned behaviour. This research method uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey format. The population in this study were students of Padjadjaran University with sampling techniques using non-probability sampling techniques, namely purposive sampling and data processing using SPSS. The results found that the male mean was higher on the attitude towards behaviour and perceived behaviour control variables while the female mean was higher on the subjective norm variable but the mean difference was not significant. The conclusion is that overall there is no difference between male and female students in accessing scientific information sources through pirate open access Sci-Hub.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian yang dilakukan di Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Tasikmalaya ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi layanan yang dilakukan melalui program Perpustakaan Keliling untuk menjangkau pemustaka yang berada di daerah-daerah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Peneliti melakukan observasi secara langsung ke Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Tasikmalaya dan melakukan wawancara dengan Kepala Sub Bagian Perpustakaan dan juga beberapa staf perpustakaan dengan kesepakatan bersama dan tidak ada unsur pemaksaan. Setelah mendapatkan data serta informasi dari hasil observasi dan wawancara, peneliti menganalisis data tersebut untuk kemudian dibuat laporan. Peneliti melakukan data analisis dengan mencocokkan hasil wawancara dengan keilmuan yang telah dipelajari sebelumnya serta membandingkannya dengan penelitian terdahulu. Peneliti juga melakukan perbandingan antara teori dengan kenyataan di lapangan. Peneliti menemukan bahwa kegiatan layanan perpustakaan keliling yang dilakukan oleh Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Tasikmalaya merupakan salah satu strategi dalam menjangkau pemustaka dan memberikan layanan terbaik bagi setiap lapisan masyarakat. Meskipun masih terdapat beberapa hal yang belum memenuhi standar perpustakaan umum, akan tetapi Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Tasikmalaya telah melakukan usaha terbaiknya sebagai lembaga informasi yang siap melayani kebutuh informasi seluruh masyarakat Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Meskipun Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Tasikmalaya belum memenuhi standar perpustakaan berdasarkan Peraturan Kepala Perpustakaan Nasional No 8 Tahun 2017 tentang Standar Perpustakaan Kabupaten atau Kota, akan tetapi Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Tasikmalaya telah melakukan layanan terbaik melalui perpustakaan keliling.

Abstract

Background of the study: The use of AI Text Generator (ATG) provides many conveniences for students, especially in accessing information in the form of text to make research proposals as a requirement for completing academic studies in lectures, but on the other hand the use of this technology also has a negative impact if not used wisely. Purpose: To describe the correlation between student information literacy and the utilisation of AI Text Generator in completing academic studies Method: Simple correlation to determine the level or degree of correlation between two variables. Findings: There is a significant correlation between students' information literacy and its five indicators with the utilization of AI Text Generator in completing academic studies. The level of correlation is in the moderate category. The types of AI Text Generator most widely used by students are ChatGPT, Perplexity, and followed by several other types of ATG. The reasons students use ATGs include developing ideas and information, efficiency, writing assistance, concept development, reference, problem solving, and improving the quality of writing. Conclusion: The existence of a correlation with a level of correlation strength that is in the moderate category indicates that these two variables influence each other but are not completely dependent on each other.

Abstract

The rise of social media has undeniably improved engagement, politics, and communication. The emergence of X has revolutionized political conversations and strengthened the political engagement of both citizens and politicians. It is crucial that we conduct a thorough examination of the importance of this phenomenon, particularly in the Indonesian context. This study aims to delve into the role of X in shaping political participation among Indonesian youth. The study was conducted among three hundred male and female students from five prestigious universities in West Java, Indonesia: UNPAD, ITB, UPI, UIN, IPB, and Telkom University. For data collection, the researcher used a quantitative method in which closed-ended questionnaires were distributed. In addition, the researcher also conducted interviews with randomly selected respondents to ask them about their experiences with X. This study shows that X greatly influences young people and plays an important role in teaching political awareness. X impacts young people by helping them gain knowledge about fundamental political rights. The results also show that messages on X influence respondents’ political orientation and help them decide who to vote for in elections. In addition, the study shows that X has become an excellent source to connect political leaders with their constituents. By analyzing the approaches of political leaders and young people behind the use of X, this study contributes to future research on political influence on social media, especially X.

Abstract

Background: Mental health is increasingly being recognized as a severe problem. While there has been an increasing awareness of mental health and psychological well-being for economic and social development over the past two decades, there has not been a corresponding increase in mental health investment. Social media platforms allow healthcare practitioners to take full advantage of the potential of social media. However, this good thing is followed by a bad thing, where more and more information is accessible; people use that information to benchmark that they also have a "mental disorder" while not consulting a professional (psychologist/psychiatrist). Incidents like this are commonly referred to as self-diagnosis. Method: Therefore, this study will discuss the existence of information and promotion through accurate and explicit content related to self-diagnosis, using qualitative research with a case study approach. Results: The results obtained are that this accessibility allows the public to seek information about the symptoms they are experiencing, thereby facilitating early detection of mental health disorders. The power of social media to engage audiences to improve communication and expand the capacity to promote programs, products, and services should be valued in health promotion. Conclusion: Social media platforms, regardless of time or location, allow practically infinite opportunities to interact and communicate with others. This ease of use of on-demand communication may be critical in increasing social connection among people suffering from mental illnesses who have difficulty interacting in person.

Abstract

Nature school is an educational institution that implements a learning model by nature. This learning model combines exploration and theory to provide balanced skills. This study aims to analyze the efforts to improve student literacy and identify the obstacles faced in its implementation at Nature School (Sekolah Alam) of Bandung. This research specifically discusses the effectiveness of literacy activities in the learning model with nature. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with a case study type. The results show that literacy activities in the nature learning model help improve students reading and writing skills. Each level has different achievements, but with the same process, including reading literature to gain initial knowledge, exploration of the surrounding environment to broaden horizons, and application of the results of reading and exploration into writing. The obstacles in this process include differences in student abilities, where there are students who read quickly and slowly, as well as difficulties in communicating what has been read and vice versa. Contribution: This study highlights the innovative integration of nature-based learning with literacy development, demonstrating that engaging students in their environment can significantly enhance their reading and writing skills.

Abstract

The arrest of Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sparked widespread media attention, which has been intensively reporting on the case. In response to this situation, the Bandung City Communication and Information Agency (Diskominfo) has strengthened its relationship with the mass media to maintain the image of the city government. This study analyzes the Diskominfo media relations strategy in managing publications amidst the crisis. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with data analysis techniques based on the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The findings show that Diskominfo utilizes various strategies to reduce negative images, such as press releases, press conferences, and cooperation with the media. The relationship between Diskominfo and the mass media is interpreted as mutually beneficial cooperation; the media obtains easier access to information, while Diskominfo can convey positive narratives to the public. However, this relationship raises concerns from the public regarding the potential for reducing media independence. In conclusion, Diskominfo's media relations strategy effectively manages the crisis, although a balance is needed to maintain transparency and independence of the news.
