Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui optimalisasi produksi enzim ekstraseluler (lignin) dan efektivitasnya dalam memecah lignin dalam media serat sawit. Tujuan lainya yaitu mengetahui perubahan gizi media serat sawit yang ditandai dengan peningkatan protein, penurunan kadar serat, dan produksi gula reduksi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 3x3. Faktor pertama yaitu sumber energi yaitu Dedak, molases, dan poles. Faktor kedua, yaitu tingkat urea dalam substrat, masing-masing 0% (U0), 1% (U1), dan 2% (U2). Seluruhnya terdapat 9 perlakuan, masing-masing perlakuan diulang empat kali. Peubah yang diamati yaitu panjang miselium. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis sidik ragam, bila analisis ragam menunjukkan perbedaan dilanjutkan dengan Uji DMRT. Perlakuan yang menghasilkan panjang miselium tertinggi (pertumbuhan terbaik) kemudian diambil data per periode pertumbuhan untuk dianalisis kandungan gizi, kadar lignin, gula pereduksi, dan kandungan enzim lignasenya. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan One Way Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan terbaik yaitu pada media serat sawit yang diberi urea 1% dan poles 10% (U1P10) dengan panjang miselium 94,25 mm dan yang terendah pada pemberian Urea 0% dan Dedak 10% (U0D10) yaitu 30 mm. Kandungan gizi pada periode pertumbuhan V lebih baik dibandingkan periode lainnya dengan kandungan protein 7,4085%, dan yang terendah pada periode pertumbuhan I yaitu 3,5152%, sedangkan kandungan ADF paling rendah juga pada periode V yaitu 10,66% dan tertinggi pada periode I yaitu 19,30%. Kandungan lignin terendah diperoleh pada periode pertumbuhan V yaitu 7,23%. Begitu juga produksi gula pereduksi tertinggi dicapai pada periode V yaitu.7,485 mg/g. Disimpulkan bahwa aktivitas enzim dan kandungan gizi terbaik pada serat sawit yang difermentasi pada fase kelima atau setelah difermentasi selama 20 hari. Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the number and price of sacrificial cattle sold before the pandemic and during the Covid-19 Pandemic and to analyze the market structure for sacrificial cattle in Batang Hari Regency based on the concentration of sellers. This study used a survey method by taking 50% of the total sub-districts in Batang Hari Regency. Then the data was obtained from a sample of sacrificial cattle traders who were taken by the census in the selected sub-districts. In this study seen from the concentration of sellers using the concentration ratio formula (Kr) and market share (market share). Data were analyzed using the data distribution normality test with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and the Shapiro-Wilk test. Test the difference using the Non-Parametric Test using the Kruskal Wallis Test followed by the Post Hoc Test using the Mann-Whitney Test. In conclusion, there was a difference in the number of sacrificial cattle sold by sacrificial cattle traders in Batang Hari District before the pandemic and during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pengembangan Pemeliharaan ternak kerbau dengan sistem UMO. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus di Kecamatan Muara Bulian Kabupaten Batang Hari. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif partisipatif dengan analisis data menggunakan analisis SWOT (Strenghth, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) dan analisis Matriks QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matriks). Pemeliharaan ternak kerbau dengan sistem UMO mampu mengatasi kelemahan dengan memanfaatkan kekuatan, dan mampu memanfaatkan peluang dan menghadapi ancaman yang ada. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah strategi dalam pengembangan ternak kerbau pada sistem pemeliharaan UMO di Kecamatan Muara Bulian Kabupaten Batang Hari adalah mempertahankan kearifan lokal dalam pengembangan ternak kerbau dengan mempertahan lahan sawah sebagai tempat penggembalaan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using various levels of forage sengon leaves (Albizia falcataria) as a source of condensed tannin on dry matter intake (DMI), organic matter intake (OMI), digestible dry matter intake (DDMI), digestible organic matter intake (DOMI), dry matter digestibility (DMD), and organic matter digestibility (OMD). This study used sixteen young male ettawa cross-breed goats aged 8–12 months with an average body weight range of 19±1.8 kg. The study was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD) with four treatments and four bodyweight groups as replicates. Diet treatments consisted of R0: 60% Brachiaria mutica (BM) + 0% A. falcataria (AF) Leaf + 40% Concentrate (CON), R1: 50% BM + 10% AF Leaf + 40% Concentrate, R2: 40% BM + 20% AF Leaf + 40% CON, and R3: 30% BM + 30% AF Leaf + 40% CON. The results showed that the use of sengon leaves as a source of condensed tannin in diets significantly (P 0.05) reduced DMI, OMI, DDMI, and DOMI but did not significantly (P > 0.05) affect DMD and OMD values. This study concluded that AF leaf as a forage source containing condensed tannin made up as much as 30%, or equivalently, 50%, of the forage in the diet of young male ettawa cross-breed goats without having any effect on diet intake or digestibility.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the dominant factors, both direct and indirect, to the success rate of the IB program in West Tanjung Jabung Regency. This research was carried out from 12 December 2020 to 6 January 2021. The objects observed in this study were all inseminators and a sample of breeders from each inseminator. The data obtained from this study are primary data and secondary data. The data were analyzed using Stepwise Multiple Regression analysis and processed using SPSS. The results of the analysis show that the success of Artificial Insemination in West Tanjung Jabung Regency has been good, this can be seen from the S/C value per inseminator of 1.54 ± 0.46. The dominant factors directly and indirectly influence the success of AI in West Tanjung Jabung Regency such as the length of time of raising livestock, the skill factor of the inseminator, the work area factor, the age factor of the acceptor. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the success of the Insemination program (Artificial AI) in West Tanjung Jabung Regency is quite good. This can be seen from the Service Perception (S/C) value in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, which is 1.54 ± 0.63, which shows the fertility level of acceptor cattle is quite good, the dominant factors that influence the success of AI in West Tanjung Jabung Regency are length of breeding, inseminator factors, area factors and acceptor age factors, while the farmer's knowledge factor and BCS factor do not significantly affect the success of AI in Tanjung Regency. West Jabung, the BCS factor does not have a significant effect because livestock from the study in the West Tanjung Jabung Regency area have a homogeneous BCS score.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the morphometry comparison of spermatozoa of simental cattle and ongole cattle such as head length, head width, head area, middle piece length, tail length and overall body length. This research was carried out at the UPTD Laboratory of the Livestock Breeding Center, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry Food Crops Service, Jambi Province. This methodology uses exploration and observation of spermatozoa, using a microscope with a magnification of 400 times. The samples measured were 480 spermatozoa, taken from frozen semen randomly at the Department of Horticultural Food Crops and Livestock, Jambi Province, then smear preparations were made with eosin dye. The variables observed were head length (PK), head width (LK), head area (LKP), middle piece length (PMD), tail length (PE) and overall body length (PTK). The research results showed that the morphometry of simental cattle spermatozoa PK (9.46 µm), LK (5.11 µm), LKP (41.96 µm), MD (13.77 µm), PE (47.68 µm) and PTK ( 70.92 µm). Meanwhile, the size of the spermatozoa of Ongole cattle PK (9.48 µm), LK (5.17 µm), LKP (42.57 µm), MD (13.83 µm), PE (47.96 µm) and PTK (71.28 µm); The statistical results obtained were not significantly different in the morphology of the two cow spermatozoa. The relationship between PTK parameters of simental cattle spermatozoa and PE was very significant (r=0.870) and likewise for Ongole Cow Spermatozoa, the relationship between PTK and PE was very significant (r=0.953). This situation shows that there is a very close relationship between body length and tail length. The percentage of X chromosome simental cattle spermatozoa was (44.38%) and Y chromosome spermatozoa was (55.62%), while the percentage of X chromosome Ongole cattle spermatozoa was (45.83) and Y chromosome carrying spermatozoa was (54.17).

Abstract

Corn straw is an alternative feed from agricultural waste that can be widely used by farmers as ruminant feed. This study aims to determine the fiber content and in sacco digestibility of corn straw fermented with Trichoderma harzianum. The design of this experiment was Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The samples were treated with 5 length of fermentation time, namely: 0 (control) , 4, 8, 12 and 16 days. Nylon bag technique was applied to evaluate the sample degradation. Corn straw that has been ground to a size of 2 mm, taken as much as 5-6 g, then put into a nylon bag and incubated in the cattle rumen for 72 hours. The results showed that corn straw fermentation using Trichoderma harzianum increased the content of NDF, ADF and the degradation of ADF but dit not increased the NDF and hemicellulose digestibility. In conclusion, the best fermentation time is 12-16 days under aerobic conditions.

Abstract

Jumlah populasi ternak sapi di Provinsi Jambi selama dua dekade lebih mengalami naik turun, meskipun menunjukkan adanya tren kenaikan. Tidak stabilnya populasi sapi di Provinsi Jambi disebabkan pertumbuhan dinamika populasi yang selalu turun naik setiap tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dinamika pertumbuhan gross dan net populasi ternak sapi di Provinsi Jambi dan perbedaan antara kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jambi, serta faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis data sekunder dalam bentuk data tahunan/berkala (time series). Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis trend dan analisis uji beda serta analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil analisis trend menunjukkan bahwa ada trend peningkatan gross populasi ternak sapi sebesar 2,96 % per tahun dan net populasi sebesar 3,70 % per tahun selama periode 2010-2017. Hasil uji beda menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan gross dan net populasi ternak sapi pada kelompok populasi banyak, sedang dan sedikit antara kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jambi. Tidak terdapat pengaruh kelahiran (X1), pemasukan (X2) terhadap gross populasi ternak sapi di Provinsi Jambi. Tidak terdapat pengaruh pengeluaran (X1), pemotongan (X2), dan kematian (X3) terhadap net populasi ternak sapi di Provinsi Jambi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial feasibility of compost processing by farmer groups in Purwodad and Dataran Kempas Villages, Tebing Tinggi District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency. The research method used is a survey method. The data obtained are primary and secondary data. Data analysis uses Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The results of this study conclude that the farmer groups processing compost from cattle waste, plantation waste, and palm oil processing waste by farmer groups in Dataran Kempas Village are higher when compared to farmer groups in Purwodadi Village in Tebing Tinggi District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted to determine the effectiveness of condensed tannin from sengon leafs extract in protection of Indigofera zollingeriana leafs meal protein (IZLMP). The experiment was conducted using a complete randomize design consisting of five treatments, four replications and two experimental units. The treatments was P0 : IZLMP +0% condensed tannin (CT), P1: IZLMP + 0.5% CT, P2: IZLMP + 1% CT, P3: IZLMP + 1.5% CT, P4: IZLMP + 2% CT. Parameters measured was N-ammonia, total protein, rumen undegradable protein (RUP) and ruminal pH. The experimental result showed that protection of IZLMP with CT decreased ammonia concentration, increasing total, RUP value, and without effect on ruminal pH. The experiment concluded that the use of CT from sengon leaf extract at a level of 2% was effectively used to protect the IZLMP from degradation by rumen microbes.
