Abstract

UMKM Rambak rumahan merujuk pada usaha mikro, kecil, atau menengah yang UMKM Rambak rumahan merujuk pada usaha mikro, kecil, atau menengah yang berfokus pada produksi rambak dengan skala produksi yang dilakukan di rumah. Biasanya, UMKM ini dimulai oleh individu atau kelompok kecil yang memanfaatkan peralatan dan fasilitas rumahan untuk membuat rambak.  Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berjudul “Pengembangan UMKM Produksi Rambak Suci di Sragen.” berupa sosialisasi pelatihan produksi kerupuk bawang, pengemasan dan pemasaran kerupuk bawang dalam peningkatan pendapatan UMKM. Pada tanggal 27 Februari 2024, mahasiswa dan dosen ITB AAS Indonesia dan  UTP Surakarta melakukan observasi dan wawancara di UMKM Rambak Suci, yang dikelola oleh Ibu Sa’adah di Trobayan, Kalijambe, Sragen. Dalam kunjungan tersebut, mereka mempelajari sejarah, produk, dan proses produksi kerupuk Rambak Suci. Pelatihan praktek pembuatan kerupuk dilakukan secara offline, menggunakan bahan-bahan seperti tepung terigu, tepung tapioka, bawang putih, garam, dan terasi udang, serta alat-alat seperti timbangan, mesin pengaduk, dan pengukus. Proses pembuatan kerupuk meliputi pencampuran bahan, penyaringan adonan, pengukusan, pemotongan, pengeringan, dan pengemasan. Produk yang dihasilkan sekitar 30 kg adonan dalam 100 kemasan. Hasil observasi menunjukkan peningkatan penjualan kerupuk karena stabilnya harga jual meski bahan baku meningkat. Tim ITB AAS Indonesia dan UTP mengusulkan solusi untuk pemasaran dan keuangan, termasuk pemasaran online, pembuatan spanduk, microsite, dan logo, serta nota penjualan untuk memudahkan pencatatan dan branding. Media sosial Instagram diperbarui karena pengelola sudah familiar, sedangkan pembuatan akun TikTok dan legalitas NIB tidak dilakukan karena keterbatasan dan keberatan dari pihak UMKM.Kata kunci: produki rambak, rambak, Rambak Suci, Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM)

Abstract

Desa Kismoyoso, Ngemplak Boyolali telah memiliki beberapa tradisi sosial dan keagamaan yang dilaksanakan setiap tahun, namun kesadaran remaja masjid untuk berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan tersebut menurun seiring waktu. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ke ini adalah untuk optimalisasi peran remaja masjid dalam mengelola kegiatan keagamaan dan sosial secara lebih efektif. Dalam periode kegiatan selama bulan Ramadan tahun 2024, fokus utama adalah meningkatkan kegiatan keagamaan dan sosial di Desa Kismoyoso. Remaja masjid menjadi kelompok sasaran utama, dengan tujuan meningkatkan keterlibatan mereka dalam mengelola kegiatan social dan keagamaan. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan mengajak remaja di sekitar masjid Desa Kismoyoso untuk mengaktifkan kembali kegiatan sosial dan keagamaan yang ada. Beberapa kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam program KKN ini meliputi kegiatan tadarus setelah shalat tarawih, kegiatan pengajian bergilir, bakti sosial dengan pendistribusian sembako kepada warga kurang mampu, pengajian akbar atau kuliah sore, kegiatan nonton film bersama setelah khataman Al-Qur'an, dan kegiatan evaluasi serta perpisahan dengan remaja masjid. Melalui kegiatan-kegiatan ini, terlihat partisipasi yang baik dari remaja masjid dalam memperkuat kegiatan keagamaan dan sosial di desa, serta membangun hubungan yang harmonis antar komunitas. Keseluruhan, program KKN di Desa Kismoyoso berhasil memberikan manfaat yang signifikan bagi masyarakat desa dalam meningkatkan kesadaran keagamaan, solidaritas sosial, dan kesejahteraan ekonomi lokal. Dengan dukungan berbagai pihak dan kolaborasi yang baik, diharapkan program ini dapat berkelanjutan dan memberikan dampak positif yang lebih luas bagi masyarakat desa dan para pelaku KKN di masa mendatang. Remaja Masjid Desa Kismoyoso memiliki potensi yang besar dalam memperkuat kegiatan keagamaan dan sosial di masyarakat. Mereka dapat menjadi agen perubahan yang mendorong partisipan aktif dalam kegiatan dan keagamaan seperti pengajian, pengembangan keterampilan sosial, serta memperkuat nilai-nilai spiritual dan moral di kalangan generasi muda. Maka dari, pengembangan optimalisasi peranan remaja masjid sangat menguntungkan untuk membuat perubahan desa Kismoyoso menjadi lebih maju dalam bidang sosial maupun bidang keagamaan. Kolaborasi antara remaja masjid dan UMKM dapat menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih berdaya dan inklusif.. Dengan memanfaatkan potensi remaja masjid dan teknologi digital, desa Kismoyoso dapat merasakan manfaat dari peningkatan kesadaran keagamaan, penguat hubungan sosial, serta pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan. kolaborasi antara remaja masjid dan UMKM dalam mengoptimalkan peran mereka dapat memberikan dampak yang signifikan bagi pembangunan masyarakat Desa Kismoyoso secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

This research describes ice-breaking (ice breaker) and the importance of ice-breaking in the teaching and learning process. This research is library research. The analysis shows that using ice-breaking requires preparation and planning, including materials, methods, and media. Ice-breaking usually can be used as warm-up activity at the beginning of learning. Ice-breaking must generate favorable impressions of students. Besides, the teacher must have strong impulses when delivering ice-breaking, must be sensitive to the classroom environment, adaptable to the student’s condition, and facilitate the students' needs. The teacher has the authority to vary or modify the game varieties of ice breaking while ensuring the duration needed. The ice-breaking is not only creating a joyful environment but also providing meaning and relevance to the subject material being presented.  Icebreaker activities can be an effective way to create a comfortable and interactive learning environment in the classroom. They break the ‘ice’ to create a relaxed and positive atmosphere, allow students to feel comfortable, interact with classmates, open their minds to a more effective learning process, and solve students' concentration, absorption, learning interests, attention, motivation even learning outcomes. Ice-breaking activities can be applied to all subjects and can be combined with learning methods or other game techniques. The teacher as a learning facilitator may not leave the learning principles including learning how to learn, how to think, how to do, and how to live together. For teachers, preparing ice breaking in learning is the same as upgrading teachers’ pedagogical, personal, social, and professional competencies.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to find out the number of medical terms found in the book End of Days and to know the lexical meaning of medical terms found in the book End of Days. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative research method. Based on the analysis, the researcher found there are 220 medical terms found in the book End of Days Chapter VII with the sub-theme The End of Days through My Eyes. There are medical terms that show the name of diseases or disorders, the name of the place, part of the body, and other related medical terminology. The writer also translates the lexical meaning by using Dictionary of Medical Terms by Peter Collin and Dictionary of Medical Acronyms and Abbreviations by Stanley Jablonski to translate the acronyms and abbreviations of the medical term in the English book of The End of Days. There are many acronyms found in the book. Based on the results of the analysis of lexical meaning, the researcher concludes that the book has a variety of uniqueness in the content because the writers Sylvia Browne with co-writer Lindsay Harrison include medical terms in the book.

Abstract

This study simulates the use of Book Creator application in making and designing e-module of the material TOEFL courses. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The result analysis shows that e-module can be created in Book Creator. We can open Chrome browser then type book creator.com on the search page. If the book creator has opened, click Create Free Account. We click “New Book”. The e-book size display will appear. The first page (cover) of e-book will be opened. On the right side of the cover there is a “+”, “i” icon and a triangular-shaped play icon. Next select the “+” icon and click “shapes” to create a second color background on the e-book page. We can select the “+” icon to add content to the page. We can select "media" then "import". We will take the contents of the files contained in the device then select the file. The selected file will appear on the e-book page. To add other content such as text, images or audio, select the “+” icon and the menu list below it. To see the appearance and content of the e-book that we created, we can click the play sign in the upper right corner. To share the e-book link, click the play sign, then click the share button on the menu bar and then specify how we want to share the e-book. Book Creator is a book creation application to make an attractive type of book. Book Creator is a simple tool for creating multimedia digital books in any academic area, from elementary school to college. Create content by combining text, music, video, drawings, photographs, and appsmash, a book will be read in different languages, including word highlighting and page flipping. Publish implies to make a book available for online viewing, download as an ePub file, or print as a PDF. Book Creator can bring creativity to our classroom, assist hesitant writers engage, and enable students to show their learning through books created by teachers and students all across the globe.

Abstract

This research describes the use of Google Bard as an Al-Powered Chatbot Tool for writing English essays. This research is descriptive qualitative. The analysis shows that Bard is an Al-powered chatbot tool designed by Google to simulate human conversations using natural language processing and machine learning. Besides supplementing Google search, Bard can be integrated into websites, messaging platforms, or applications to provide realistic, natural language responses to user questions. Users can collaborate with Bard to brainstorm ideas, spark creativity, and accelerate writing productivity. Several ways to use Google Bard are: Visit the official website https://Bard.google.com or https://Bard.google.com/chat and make sure that we have logged in to our Google account. A chat room of Bard will open. Type and send prompts (commands/questions). Bard will read the prompts and present the responses. Bard has alternative answer drafts based on the criteria we want. Click on one of the three drafts that fit our criteria. The researcher does several trials using Bards. The view shows “Hi, I’m Bard. Tell me what’s on your mind, or pick a suggestion. I have limitations and won’t always get it right, but your feedback will help me improve”. The researcher asks “Hallo, good afternoon. Can you help me to do my English assignment?”, then Bard answer “Bard answers “Yes, I can help you to do your English assignment”, then adds several tips for writing an essay and mentions specific types of assignments i.e essays, research papers, and creative writing assignments. The researcher asks Bard specifically “Can you write English an essay which consists of 1 paragraph about "The Importance of AI in English Language Teaching (ELT)?”. Bard answers “Sure, here is a 1-paragraph essay about the importance of AI in ELT. Bard explains the benefits of AI in ELT and also explains AI-powered apps and games in ELT. As stated by Bard “Bard is an experiment”. As we try, Bard may give inaccurate or offensive responses or information. It is certainly possible to carry out further research to find out about the quality results of English essays written by Bard which include grammar, spelling, punctuation, or other aspects.

Abstract

E-learning relies on technology. It requires hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Most e-learning environments today are Web-based, so they can be accessed via Web browsers (using HTTP) over a TCP/IP network such as a university or campus network. The objective of this research is to describe the implementation and to find the strengths and weaknesses of the institution's platform of e-learning in ITB AAS Indonesia. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The result analysis shows that ITB AAS Indonesia has an e-learning system that can be accessed at https://itbaas.ac.id/elearning/. The learning process may be governed or managed by a system based on LMS (Learning Management System). The implementation of online English teaching by using e-learning consists include planning, implementation, and evaluation. In preparing English language teaching, the lecture follows instructions for creating materials. Before uploading material, the English lecturer prepares the material file that he/she wants to upload, fills in all material identities (title of the material, choice of courses, choice of class, material content) then uploads material files. In the implementation of English Language Teaching, the English lecturer prepares the media of video conferencing in online learning. The English lecturer carries out online learning by using Zoom meetings and YouTube Live Streaming. In evaluation, the English lecturer can evaluate by giving the mid-term and final semester tasks in the e-learning platform. The e-learning system in ITB AAS Indonesia has advantages, of course, it also has disadvantages. Therefore, the process of improving the e-learning application is still required and needs to be improved for the success of the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

With the rapid advancement of information technology, the need for effective educational platforms has become pressing. ITB AAS Indonesia has taken steps to meet this need by developing an e-learning system using the CodeIgniter framework. This paper discusses the development process of the e-learning platform designed to provide an enhanced learning experience for students and faculty. By adopting a user-centered approach and applying structured development methods, this system offers advanced features that support remote learning, user interaction, and educational content management. Evaluation results indicate that this platform enhances accessibility and efficiency in the teaching and learning process, significantly contributing to modern education in Indonesia.

Abstract

QuillBot is an online application to paraphrase writing, avoid plagiarism, summarize long sentences and improve grammar to be more precise and look professional. The objective of this research is to review the QuillBot as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool system for students’ in paraphrasing and rewriting English writing both in the free and premium versions. This research applies descriptive qualitative. The data used is an English abstract article. The results show that QuillBot paraphrasing tools use several ways to paraphrase the text: 1) paraphrasing by using equations or synonyms, 2) paraphrasing by changing the form of the word, 3) paraphrasing by using active or passive sentences, and 4) paraphrasing by changing the order of words in sentences. This paraphrasing uses Standard Mode, which serves to balance changes to the text when users input them but still keeps them from changing the actual (original) meaning of the text, also making the result look more original. QuillBot is one of the paraphrasings and summarizing tools that can be used by students for rewriting any content based on a state-of-the-art AI system. This tool can be the students’ alternative which provides a solution by helping paraphrase when students do not have the idea to paraphrase English writing manually. However, a good knowledge of vocabulary and understanding of English grammar, of course, will help students or other users (s) both in using online or manual paraphrasing to be better or the best quality.

Abstract

This research simulates the use of QuillBot Grammar Checker in assessing students' writing errors in English essays. This research is descriptive qualitative. QuillBot announces the availability and accessibility of a new grammar checker. QuillBot's grammar checker can help users (teachers/lecturers) check writing errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling. The analysis shows that two examples of students’ essays are evaluated by QuillBot Premium. The 1st student’s essay shows 209 words with 21 errors. It consists of grammatical errors (word class) such as nouns, pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions, and adjectives. The 2nd student’s essay shows 161 words with 20 errors. It consists of grammatical errors (word class) such as nouns, pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions, adjectives, and interjections. Users can choose two options (replace or ignore). Replace means change the error words, while ignore means keep maintaining the words In using QuillBot, users type Quillbot in the Google search engine, log in if needed, several menus will appear, and click Grammar Checker. Write or copy the English essay that we want to check. Errors in writing will appear with red underlines completed by many words and the number of errors in an essay. If we want to click repair, select Fix All Errors. QuillBot utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automatically scan text for grammatical, punctuation, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization issues, highlighting them and allowing users to correct them individually or in bulk with a single click. Teachers/lecturers can use corrective evaluations by using QuillBot as an alternative online tool besides the popularity of Grammarly. Regarding the accuracy level of using QuillBot in evaluating students' writing errors, it may need to be improved. However, other online grammar check applications can be considered and tried besides evaluation manually.
