Abstract

The existence of complex dynamics in the behavior of individuals in groups can explain the theoretical constructs of individual and group relations that continue to develop today. One of the developed theoretical contracts is the theory of identity fusion. This study aims to compile an identity fusion scale based on Gomez, Swann, Vazquez, Brooks, Buhrmester, & Jetten's verbal identity fusion scale in 2011. There are several processes for compiling a measuring instrument in this study. First, by conducting an open-ended questionnaire to find behavioral indicators that emerged. The second is to test the content validity using Aiken's V content validity coefficient value. Third, to test the construct validity by doing Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Fourth is to test the validity of the criteria by correlating the scale of identity fusion and social identity. Finally, the researcher estimated the reliability of the final item compilation. The results showed that 27 items could use to measure verbal identity fusion, with a Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0.935. Based on the correlation results, there is a positive relationship between identity fusion and social identity. Although there are different perspectives in explaining individual behavior, the fusion of identity and social identity is a complementary and related construct.

Abstract

Women are a group that is vulnerable to becoming victims of the impacts of climate change, the availability of air to meet sanitation needs, disasters that can occur at any time, and secondary impacts from economic problems that may arise. This research illustrates how literacy can strengthen women, open their minds, change paradigms about the environment, and even move women to try to be active and independent in responding to the impacts of climate change. Using qualitative methods, researchers carried out inductive coding on the results of interviews with five people with the highest New Ecological Paradigm Scale scores from sixty-six subjects selected using the criteria of women aged 18-40 years who liked to read literacy in the form of novels by female writers from Indonesia. Word Frequency analysis found that five words had context and formed the theme of this research, namely women, nature, mothers, characters, and the environment. This research reveals how feminist ecopsychological literacy can change views, determine attitudes, and mobilize Indonesian women to be pro-environmental and independent in responding to climate change, which causes changes in the natural environment.

Abstract

The high usage of TikTok among Generation Z has the potential to encourage online self-presentation behavior, often accompanied by anxiety about missing out on others' social experiences. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational survey method, involving 400 Generation Z respondents who actively upload content to their personal TikTok accounts. The instruments used included the Fear of Missing Out scale adapted from Kurniawan & Utami (2022), and the Online Self-Presentation scale derived from the Presentation of Online-Self Scale (POSS) developed by Fullwood (2015). Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman technique. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between FoMO and self-presentation, indicating that the higher the level of FoMO, the greater the tendency for individuals to engage in online self-presentation. These findings offer important insights into the digital identity dynamics of Generation Z and how social pressure on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, can influence self-presentation behavior.

Abstract

Abstract

High school graduates in Indonesia's coastal areas, including Agam Regency, face high unemployment rates due to limited access to career information and curriculum gaps. This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity of teachers at SMAN 1 Tanjung Mutiara in providing career guidance through digital module-based training using a Training of Trainers (ToT) approach. Twenty-two teachers participated in the training, which was evaluated using the Kirkpatrick model at the reaction and learning levels. The results indicated high participant satisfaction regarding the training materials and facilities. Furthermore, 81% of participants showed an increase in knowledge, supported by the Wilcoxon signed-rank test results showing a significant statistical increase (p < .001). The success of this program proves that digital module-based teacher training is effective in enhancing students' career readiness and expanding access to higher education in coastal regions.

Abstract

The adaptation of the Attitudes Toward Voluntary Childlessness Scale is a useful measurement tool for assessing aspects related to being childfree, such as families who do not wish to have children, the necessity of children for a family to be happy/meaningful, and whether society supports individuals' choices not to have children. The adaptation of the Attitudes Toward Voluntary Childlessness Scale is essential because there is no suitable measurement tool in Indonesian to accurately measure the concept of being childfree, especially in the context of families who choose not to have children. This measurement tool consists of 24 items and has undergone six stages of adaptation following cross-cultural adaptation guidelines. Through testing on 50 adults in Indonesia, a reliability coefficient of 0.906 was obtained to measure indicators related to individuals who do not have children, the necessity of children for a family to be happy/meaningful, and whether society supports individuals' choices not to have children. Therefore, the adapted Attitudes Toward Voluntary Childlessness Scale can be used in future research to predict various variables related to the concept of being childfree in Indonesia.

Abstract

Final-year university students are vulnerable to future anxiety because they are in a transitional phase from academic life to the workforce and adulthood. In the digital era, doomscrolling, defined as the repeated consumption of negative information through social media, may intensify students’ concerns about their future. This study is important because final-year students not only face academic pressure and career uncertainty, but are also increasingly exposed to negative information on social media that may affect their psychological condition. This study aimed to examine the contribution of doomscrolling to future anxiety among final-year university students. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design using simple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 384 students aged 21–25 years who actively used social media and had accessed negative news content, selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Doomscrolling Scale and the Future Anxiety Scale. The results showed that doomscrolling contributed positively and significantly to future anxiety among final-year university students. The higher the students’ tendency to engage in doomscrolling, the higher their anxiety about the future. These findings indicate that repeated consumption of negative information on social media may serve as a psychological risk factor for students in facing their future. The results of this study are expected to serve as a basis for universities to develop digital literacy programs, career counseling, and psychological support for final-year students. ABSTRAK Mahasiswa tingkat akhir rentan mengalami future anxiety karena berada pada fase transisi dari dunia pendidikan menuju dunia kerja dan kehidupan dewasa. Abstract

This study examines the relationship between peer conformity and online gambling addiction among adolescents. With the advent of digital platforms, gambling has become increasingly accessible, particularly for adolescents and young adults, leading to significant mental health risks. This study aims to investigate how peer influence impacts gambling behavior and the potential for addiction. A qualitative approach using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to investigate individuals' lived experiences. Semi-structured interviews with university students who had engaged in online gambling were used. Findings indicate that peer pressure plays a significant role in motivating individuals to gamble online, often driven by a desire for social acceptance. Participants reported feeling compelled to conform to group norms, which reduced their self-control and awareness of the risks involved. The emotional need for belonging emerged as a significant factor influencing their decisions. Furthermore, this study highlights the detrimental psychological effects, including anxiety and depression, stemming from gambling-related stress. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the importance of understanding peer dynamics in preventing online gambling addiction. The insights gained can inform future interventions aimed at fostering resilience among adolescents and reducing the risks associated with online gambling. Readers are encouraged to explore social influences on individual behavior as they navigate this critical issue.
