Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the role of zakat in poverty alleviation in Indonesia, focusing on the impact of zakat as measured by the Zakat Impact Assessment (KDZ) and the CIBEST Welfare Index. Using a quantitative descriptive analysis method with an ANCOVA approach, this study examines the relationship between these variables in the period 2018-2022. The results of the analysis indicate that zakat plays a significant role in poverty reduction and welfare improvement, with a greater impact in areas with higher welfare. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant negative impact on the effectiveness of zakat distribution, as reflected in a decrease in the KDZ level. The average KDZ during the study period was 0.503 and the average CIBEST was 0.297. Two-Way ANOVA analysis showed that the CIBEST variable significantly influenced KDZ (F = 4.273, p < 0.001), with a large impact (η² = 0.558), while the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant effect with a moderate impact (η² = 0.128). This study suggests that to increase the impact of zakat, there needs to be stronger synergy between zakat institutions, the government, and the community as well as the integration of zakat into broader development policies, especially in areas with high poverty rates.

Abstract

Income inequality in Indonesia, remains as a serious global issue. This study is driven by the existing inter-regional disparities and the limited integration of gender indicators in inequality analysis, particularly across all provinces in Indonesia. The issue of income distribution inequality is certainly influenced by various factors. This study was conducted with the aim of understanding the effect of the Gender Empowerment Index (GEI), Human Development Index (HDI), poverty, and Domestic Investment (DI) on income inequality in Indonesia. The data in this study is secondary panel data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics, covering 34 provinces over the 2015-2023 period. The research method is the fixed effects model. The findings indicate that GEI does not have a statistically significant impact. On the contrary, HDI has a significant negative effect, while poverty and domestic investment have a significant positive effect on income distribution inequality. These findings highlight the need for inclusive human development policies, equitable investment distribution, and targeted poverty reduction strategies. This study also contributes by providing evidence-based recommendations to reduce interprovincial disparities in Indonesia and strengthen discussions on more equitable and fair policies.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: The development of ornamental fish feed technology plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term viability of fisheries in Trenceng Village, Sumbergempol, and Tulungagung Regency. The objective is to develop alternative technology for manufacturing fish feed that may effectively reduce production expenses and fulfil the requirements of ornamental fish growers. Method: The approach promotes self-sufficiency among ornamental fish producers in producing fish feed. This is done in response to the declining pricing of ornamental fish and the comparatively high feed cost. Practical Applications: This technology's practical application is to create food self-sufficiency for ornamental fish farmers in terms of ease of price access and physical. Conclusion: Ornamental fish farmers are anticipated to benefit from implementing alternative fish feed technologies, as it will assist them in managing volatility and reductions in product revenue. Therefore, this technology can enhance the sustainability of fisheries in Trenceng Village, Sumbergempol, and Tulungagung Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the existence of regional infrastructure and the number of poor people and to know the distribution of infrastructure in each district/city in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The data used is a primary data crosssection derived from Village Potential Data Collection (Q-Podes). This study uses two methods, namely, Ordinary Least Square Regression, to determine the relationship between variables and Geo-Map Orange Data Mining to determine the distribution and equitable distribution of infrastructure. Empirical results show that areas with electricity sources from the State Electricity Company (PLN), Information and communication infrastructure, trade and service infrastructure, agricultural infrastructure, and good sanitation can reduce the number of poor people. However, drainage infrastructure, cultural and health education infrastructure, and transportation infrastructure have not been able to reduce the number of poor people in DIY. In addition, the occurrence of uneven development, which is seen in the uneven infrastructure in each region, is also an inhibiting factor in reducing the number of poor people in DIY.

Abstract

Panjerejo Village is one of the gourami-producing villages in East Java. This village is located in Rejotangan District, Tulungagung Regency. Gurami fish is one of the freshwater fish commodities that is widely cultivated in Panjerejo Village. Even though it is widely cultivated, fish farmers are also faced with various challenges that affect the growth of their fish. These challenges are grouped into two factors, namely internal factors and external factors. Therefore, KKN UNS Group 03 seeks to increase the technical knowledge and skills of fish farmers through a socialization program for the development of gourami fish cultivation with a focus on providing vitamins and quality feed. This program involves the stages of problem identification, data collection, program planning, and program implementation. Through this activity, it is hoped that it can increase the knowledge and technical skills of gourami fish farmers and make a positive contribution to the local economy of Panjerejo Village. The results show an increased understanding of the importance of providing nutrition and good maintenance techniques for gourami fish farmers.

Abstract

Roads are strategic infrastructure that support connectivity and regional development. The deterioration of road quality can hinder mobility and suppress economic activity. This study analyzes the factors affecting road quality, particularly those related to road damage, by emphasizing the role of the Special Allocation Fund (DAK), institutional quality measured through the democracy index and corruption cases, and political competition. A quantitative approach using panel data regression was applied to 33 provinces in Indonesia over the 2021–2023 period. The visualization results reveal disparities in road quality between Java and non-Java regions. Statistical tests show that DAK and institutional quality do not have a significant effect on road quality. Conversely, political competition has a significant effect, indicating that healthy political competition promotes accountability and efficiency in infrastructure management. The study also finds that the control variables—vehicle volume and per capita income—have a positive and significant relationship with the ratio of damaged roads. The implications of this study highlight the need to improve Indonesia’s road infrastructure quality by strengthening political competition and enhancing budget governance.
