Abstract

Mistletoes are one group of hemiparasite plants, including the Lorantaceae family that have potential as medicinal. These hemiparasite plants can attack flowering plant (Magnoliophyta) and non-floweing plant (Pinophyta), especially on the main stems, branches and twigs. The objective of this research is to identify the species of mistletoe and its hosts, make identification key, descriptions, and to make a distribution map of mistletoe in Joben Resort forest south of Mount Rinjani Lombok. This study is descriptive explorative research with three kinds of collecting sample methods i.e exploration, continous strip sampling, and delenation method. The research found five species of mistletoes are included in three genera i.e Amyema cuernosensis, Amyema enneantha, Amyema tristis, Macrosolen retusus and Scurrula artropurpurea. These five kinds of mistletoe are associated with 23 hosts species of plants, 18 genera from 13 families. The most favorite host of these mistletoes is Ficus septica, and the most agresive mistletoe is Scurrula artropurpurea. The important finding of the research is finding new species or new record of mistletoes. The benefit of these new record or new species is providing new material of new medicinal for treating some diseases such as various cancers.

It also revealed factors that influence students to have difficulty in making inference while engaged in conversational listening. The result indicated that students listening comprehension in making inference was poor. Besides, the data from the questionnaire showed that non-linguistic factors such as ineffective strategy, inability to apply inference strategy, and insufficient background knowledge were more dominant influencing students difficulty in making appropriate inference rather than that of linguistic and paralinguistic factors. Abstract

Village fund is state budget allocated to all villages in Indonesia. This fund is used to finance rural administrative government, rural development, rural empowerment and community development. One of the Village Fund Allocation’s (Alokasi Dana Desa/ADD’s) goals is to reduce poverty and inequality as well as to improve community welfare. Poverty alleviation is a global action under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This research is aimed to analyze the impact of Village Funds on community welfare by employing the intervening variable poverty levels in Central Java Province. Secondary data from 29 districts in Central Java were used in this research. This was a quantitative research which employed Path Analysis Method. The independent variable in this research was Village Fund and the dependent variable was community welfare which utilized poverty as the intervening variable. Based on the Path Analysis Method, this research found that Village Fund had no impact on community welfare in Central Java province. However, through indirect path analysis, it was found that Village Fund had an impact on community welfare in terms of poverty level. This finding showed that Village Fund had a direct impact on reducing poverty level, and the poverty level affected the community welfare in Central Java accordingly.

Abstract

Abstract: Economic theory in the household production literature suggests that the division of labor within households is based on the comparative advantage of specific investments and intrinsic biological differences between males and females. Males are typically regarded as breadwinners, whereas females are believed to be responsible for raising children and performing domestic work. Moreover, domestic tasks performed by housewives are not accorded enough economic significance; these tasks are also not included in the calculation of Gross Domestic Product and Gross NationalProduct. This study aims to estimate the monetary value of the domestic tasks performed by housewives in urban Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. To this end, this study employs the general replacement cost approach. A primary survey of 385 respondents was conducted to collect information from housewives in Surakarta. The purposive sampling technique was used to generate are presentative sample covering all five districts of Surakarta. The findings show that the average monthly monetary value of housewives in Surakarta is close to 2.5 million Rupiah. The monetary value varies according to the following parameters: age group, educational qualifications, age of children, and housewives’ roles—that is, those who perform only domestic work and those who take up jobs in the public sphere in addition to performing domestic work.

Abstract

Gyrinops versteegii (Thymelaeaceae) is one of the agarwood-producing trees originating from Lombok, there are five provenances, namely Pantai, Madu, Buaya, Soyun, and Beringin. This study aims to compare the morphological structure of pollen in five provenances of G. versteegii in Lombok. The method of sampling and data analyzes were used random sampling and descriptive. Samples were taken from West Lombok: Sidemen Village (Pantai), North Lombok: Menggala Village (Buaya), Gangga Village (Beringin), Central Lombok: Taman Baru Village (Madu), and Soyun from Karang Pule Village, Mataram. The study parameters were pollen diameter and pollen morphology: shape, aperture, and sculpture. The results showed that the size of pollen from Buaya was wider than that from Madu, Beringin and Pantai. Based on the length of the polar axis/equatorial diameter, Buaya Provenance, Beringin and Pantai pollen are round in shape, and Madu Provenance is subprolate in shape. The Buaya, Madu and Beringin provenances have a monocolpate opening type, and the Periporate type for the Pantai provenance.

Abstract

Abstract

Endogenous growth theory assumes that human capital is a prominent factor in regional economic growth. However, the imbalance of human capital between regions is still a major problem in economic growth in Indonesia. Previous studies on regional economic growth have recognized the importance of considering spatial aspects as a determinant of regional economic growth. The geographical area in the form of an archipelago with a large number of administrative districts and cities produces pros and cons regarding the influence of spatial aspects on the regional growth of urban districts. This study aims to analyze the distribution of human capital using the Alternative Human Development Index (AHDI) approach and the effect of human capital and spatial aspects on the regional economic growth of urban districts in Indonesia within the framework of endogenous growth theory. The research method uses geometric mean to measure the Alternative Human Development Index, Geographic Information System (GIS) to see the distribution of human capital and regional economic growth in Indonesia, and the spatial regression Spatial Autoregressive Moving Average (SARMA) used to analyze the spatial aspects of human capital and regional economic growth in Indonesia. The results show that human capital in Indonesia is still unequal between the western and eastern parts of Indonesia. Human capital and spatial factors have positive effects and are the most influential determinants of Indonesia's regional economic growth, as indicated by the value of the spatial lag weight matrix of the dependent variable (ρ) and the spatial error term (λ) that is positive.
