Abstract

Background: Aging is a natural process and no one can avoid it. The aging process is also a physiological process that will occur in all living things. This process covers all organs of the body including the skin which is one of the body tissues that directly shows the occurrence of the aging process Aim: This research aims to analyze ethanol’s antioxidant extract of pandanus leaves through DPPH method. Method: This type of research is using experimental research designs to determine the antioxidant activity affected by time, and temperature with the DPPH method, a formulation of the effects of the ethanol extract of fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifous Roxb). Findings: It has active antioxidant activity and IC50 extract of fragrant pandan ethanol on the 5th day with a temperature of 50° C and on the 3rd day with a temperature of 35° C which is the best antioxidant activity.

Abstract

PT XYZ had a method called the on book method to determine the amount of coal tonnage in the ROM stockpile.. This method used the initial stock from the survey calculation resut at the beginning of each month, the incoming coal to the stockpile used truck count method, and the outgoing coal from stockpile used weighbridge calculation. PT XYZ used the survey calculation results at the beginning of the next month rather than on book method result to determine the difference. The Coal tonnages based on survey result data on April 2 was 34.225,454 tons. Whereas, for the on-book calculation, the stock at March 2 was 38.409,083 tons, the coal in 2 March - 2 April was 71.154 tons, and the coal out of 2 March - 2 April was 67.994,52 tons, so the final stock obtained was 41.568,56 tons. The difference from those two methods comparison was 7.343,11 tons. This research discover the factors causing the differences between two methods i.e. incompatible vessel capacity on the truck counts tonnage calculation, disorganized stockpile patterns, declining ROM stockpile base conditions, spilled material, total station tools and weighbridges which had not been calibrated yet.

Abstract

Gauss's elimination is an effective mathematical method for solving linear equation systems and is widely applied in various fields, including financial modeling. This article aims to apply Gauss's elimination method in solving complex financial modeling models in banks, especially in credit portfolio analysis and risk management. This study uses a quantitative approach by applying Gauss's elimination to bank financial data, involving a linear equation system that represents the relationship between risk factors, credit interest, and payment capacity. The results of the analysis show that this method is able to provide an efficient and accurate solution in determining the optimal combination of credit portfolios and minimizing default risk. The simulation also confirmed the reliability of Gauss's elimination in handling large-scale data with a variety of financial parameters. The conclusion of the study is that Gauss's elimination is not only relevant in a theoretical context but also highly applicable in the banking industry to improve data-driven decision-making. The contribution of this research to science is to provide an innovative approach to utilize classical mathematical methods in solving modern problems in the financial sector, as well as to provide a basis for further research in the field of linear equation-based financial modeling.

Abstract

High humidity in Indonesia, which is considered a tropical country, encourages the growth of various types of microorganisms. Fungi are one type of microorganism that thrives in Indonesia. This fungus can infect its host causing a disease known as candidiasis when it grows too quickly in response to physiological changes or decreased immunity. Candida albicans and other fungi are able to thrive on a synthetic medium called Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) medium. This medium is only available in some locations and is rather expensive. Red kidney beans as an alternative are used to replace SDA media. Fungal growth is aided by the nutrients found in kidney beans. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not boiled water derived from red beans could be an alternative medium for planting Candida albicans fungi. This kind of descriptive research was conducted in a pre-experimental laboratory observation using the fungus Candida albicans as a parameter and kidney beans as a substrate. Candida albicans fungi can be grown using red bean juice media which is an alternative to SDA media. However, in red bean media, Candida albicans fungi have a smaller size than SDA media. Which is the only macroscopic difference between the two types of fungal colonies. Even so, the small characteristics remain the same. Keywords: Sabouraud dextrose agar (SDA), Red beans, Candida albicans
