Abstract

Abstract

This research is important because several behavioral and psychological factors such as religiosity, Islamic business ethics, trust, satisfaction, and perception are frequently reported to influence the motivation of sharia  consumers.  This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, Islamic business ethics, trust, satisfaction and perception on the motivation of sharia consumers in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) method. This study was conducted with a quantitative approach and data collection techniques through Accidental Sampling, with a sample size of 110 respondents obtained through questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) method. The population in this study were sharia consumers in Indonesia.Based on the empirical findings, this study contributes theoretically by clarifying the roles and interactions of religiosity, Islamic business ethics, trust, satisfaction, and perception in shaping sharia consumer motivation. The results also present practical implications for sharia business actors and policy makers in designing strategies that strengthen and sustain sharia consumer motivation. The novelty of this study lies in its analytical shift from prior research that primarily emphasized sharia consumer purchasing behavior, toward a deeper examination of consumer motivation. Furthermore, this study extends the discussion of boycott-related motivations by integrating non-economic variables such as religiosity, Islamic business ethics, trust, satisfaction, and perception.

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is essential for learning English as it supports the development of the four language skills. However, many Indonesian students face difficulties due to uninteresting instruction and low motivation. This study aimed to examine the effect of a game-based web application (Wordwall) on the vocabulary mastery of EFL students. A quantitative quasi-experimental design was employed involving two classes consisting of 32 students each. The experimental group was taught using Wordwall, while the control group received conventional instruction. Vocabulary mastery was measured through pre-test and post-test instruments. The findings revealed that the experimental group showed significantly greater improvement than the control group, with mean post-test scores of 74.37 and 59.38, respectively. Statistical analysis confirmed that there was a significant effect of using Wordwall on students’ vocabulary mastery (t = 14.883, p < 0.05). Furthermore, the effect size analysis using Cohen’s d indicated a large effect (d = 0.86). These findings demonstrate that the use of Wordwall as a game-based web application has a significant effect on EFL students’ vocabulary mastery at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Background:Final-year students often struggle to find and integrate relevant scientific information for their theses. Institutional repositories offer a curated source of information that can potentially aid in the completion of their studies, but their utilization is still under-optimal. Aims:This study aims to analyze students' information search strategies through the IAIN Parepare repository and to interpret how the information found is used to facilitate the completion of the thesis. Methods:The research used a qualitative case study approach, involving final-year students of IAIN Parepare through in-depth interviews, observation, repository searches, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Result:The results of the study indicate that students experience difficulties in the early stages of thesis writing, particularly in determining theories and methods, and finding writing examples. The repository helps reduce uncertainty in information searches, provides relevant thesis references, and makes it easier for students to understand the writing structure according to academic guidelines. The students' search process aligns with Kuhlthau's ISP theory, Wilson's Information Behavior, and Ellis and Marchionini's information search model. Conclusion:Institutional repositories play a strategic role in improving information literacy, facilitating the thesis writing process, and supporting students in completing their studies. They serve not only as reference providers but also as effective learning tools that strengthen students' academic abilities.

Abstract

Student compliance with school rules is essential for safe, orderly learning and is shaped by socialization across home and school contexts. This study examined the profile of the family environment and its relationship with compliance among Grade 5 pupils in an Indonesian public elementary school. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted with 52 students selected through random sampling from a population of 105. Data were collected using two Likert-type questionnaires measuring family environment and compliance with school rules and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. Most students reported a “good” family environment (55.76%) and “good” compliance (53.84%). Family environment was positively associated with compliance (r = .334, p = .015) and significantly predicted compliance (B = 0.469, t = 2.508, p = .015), explaining 11.2% of variance (R² = .112). The findings indicate that supportive and structured home conditions contribute modestly to rule-following, while substantial variability likely reflects school climate, peer dynamics, and individual self-regulation. Strengthening home–school alignment may support more consistent student discipline. Keywords: family environment; student compliance; school rules; elementary school; parental monitoring
