Abstract

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are a digital patient data recording system designed to improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare services. Mataram University Hospital has implemented the EMR system in its patient service process; however, several technical challenges still have the potential to affect service effectiveness. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of hospital services following the implementation of Electronic Medical Records at Mataram University Hospital and to identify the impact of EMR implementation on service effectiveness. This study employed a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The research informants consisted of three registration officers selected through purposive sampling, namely the head of the registration unit, a morning-shift registration officer, and an afternoon-shift registration officer. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through triangulation. The results showed that the implementation of Electronic Medical Records had a positive impact on the effectiveness of healthcare services at Mataram University Hospital. The use of EMR facilitated patient data recording and retrieval, accelerated service processes, improved staff work efficiency, and strengthened coordination among healthcare service units. Nevertheless, several challenges were still encountered, including internet network disruptions, system failures, and differences in staff competency in operating the application. Overall, the implementation of Electronic Medical Records has contributed to improving the effectiveness of hospital services, although further improvements in technological infrastructure and staff competency are still needed to optimize its implementation.

Abstract

Adopting Electronic Medical Record (EMR) infrastructure plays a pivotal role in optimizing operational workflow, data precision, and overall healthcare service standards. Successful EMR integration hinges on multiple operational determinants, including system usability, rapid data retriever accessibility, software stability, data protection, and inter-unit connectivity. This research evaluates the impact of EMR system dimensions on patient care delivery at UPTD BLUD Kopang Public Health Center. Using a quantitative analytical framework with a cross-sectional design, this study targeted the entire staff utilizing EMR at UPTD BLUD Kopang Public Health Center as the population. Employing a total sampling strategy, 50 active respondents were selected. Primary data were gathered through structured questionnaires, direct observation, and documentary analysis, followed by univariate and bivariate evaluations using the Spearman Rank correlation method ().Findings demonstrate that both EMR system performance and patient service delivery are classified in the good category. Statistical computation yielded a Spearman Rank correlation coefficient of with a significance level of (), confirming a robust, positive, and statistically significant relationship between EMR system capability and patient service quality. Enhanced system capabilities directly drive superior service outcomes. It is concluded that EMR system performance significantly drives patient service excellence at UPTD BLUD Kopang Public Health Center. Consequently, continuous software upgrades, robust technical infrastructure maintenance, and ongoing staff development programs are imperative to maximize EMR performance in healthcare administration.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an important indicator of healthcare service quality and hospital performance. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the quality of inpatient staff services and patient satisfaction at Siti Hajar Islamic Hospital, Mataram. An analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from February to May 2026. The study involved 50 inpatient respondents selected using the Lemeshow sample size formula. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and direct observation. Univariate analysis was used to describe the distribution of service quality and patient satisfaction, while bivariate analysis was performed using Kendall’s Tau correlation test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that 100% of respondents assessed the quality of inpatient staff services as very good, while 100% of respondents reported being very satisfied with the services received. Kendall’s Tau analysis demonstrated a statistically significant positive relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction, with a correlation coefficient of 0.381 and a significance value of 0.016 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that better perceived inpatient service quality is associated with higher patient satisfaction. Therefore, maintaining and continuously improving service quality, particularly in terms of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles, is important for sustaining high levels of patient satisfaction at Siti Hajar Islamic Hospital, Mataram.

Abstract

The outpatient registration desk initiates the service pathway for patients and their families. At this point, service quality may be shaped by the officers' accuracy, working speed, courteous manner, and ability to convey information. This research assessed the association of outpatient registration officer performance and supporting facilities with patient service quality at Puskesmas Labuapi in 2026. An analytic observational design and a cross-sectional approach were employed. The study included 50 participants recruited by accidental sampling. Responses were obtained through a Likert-scale questionnaire, and the association between variables was examined using Fisher's Exact Test. Data analysis showed that 45 participants (90.0%) placed registration officer performance in the Good category. The same number, 45 participants (90.0%), categorized patient service quality as Good. The Exact Sig. (2-sided) result was 0.000, below the 0.05 criterion, confirming a statistically significant association between the two variables. Accordingly, more favorable evaluations of officer performance tended to coincide with better patient-perceived service quality at Puskesmas Labuapi.
