Abstract

The socialization and basic training activities in leadership and journalism at SMAN Nusa Bangsa, Banjarwangi Village, Garut Regency, aim to enhance students' knowledge and skills in leveraging the era of digitalization 4.0. This training includes the introduction of leadership theories, journalism basics, and the use of digital media such as professional cameras and smartphones. Starting with a socialization session on the importance of leadership and journalism, the material presented covers the definition of leadership, types of leadership, the role of leadership in organizations, and journalism techniques including news writing and interviewing. Practical training sessions are conducted through leadership simulations and hands-on practice in news writing and interviewing. Students are divided into small groups and assigned tasks to lead the group and create and present their journalistic work. The results of the activities show significant improvements in students' understanding and skills in leadership and journalism, and increase their motivation to pursue higher education. Students are also able to promote the potential of Banjarwangi Village, such as tourism, culinary arts, crafts, and agriculture through quality journalistic content. Evaluation and reflection demonstrate long-term positive impacts on village development and community welfare, making students active agents of change in utilizing digital technology to enhance local potential.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the Instagram account @rumahvaksinasi_garut in enhancing access to and awareness of vaccination in Garut Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive method and Pierre Levy’s New Media theory as the foundation, this research explores how Instagram functions as an interactive and network-based digital communication medium. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of Instagram content. Thematic analysis was applied to understand how educational content, vaccination schedules, testimonials, and interactive features such as Q&A and polls create an active and responsive communication space. The findings indicate that Instagram @rumahvaksinasi_garut effectively provides easily accessible vaccination information and fosters an active social interaction space between administrators and the community. Through educational content, testimonials, and interactive features, this account successfully builds trust and community participation in vaccination programs. Consistent and strategic use of social media makes Instagram an effective communication tool to expand vaccination coverage and raise public health awareness in the rapidly evolving digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of TikTok micro-influencers as an effective public relations strategy to enhance the presence of the Gulapadi brand in today's fast-evolving digital era. It combines three important marketing communication approaches—advertising, sales promotion, and social media marketing—to achieve comprehensive and optimal results. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, gathering data through in-depth interviews with four groups of informants: micro-influencers, consumers, employees, and digital marketing experts. The findings demonstrate that micro-influencers successfully deliver promotional content in a manner that is not only engaging but also credible, which helps increase consumers' purchase intentions. Additionally, two-way interactions through comments and electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) deepen the emotional connection between the brand and its audience, fostering a stronger relationship. As a result, utilizing micro-influencers on TikTok proves to be a powerful strategy that not only sustains brand existence but also broadens market reach and builds consumer loyalty in the midst of a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of understanding of technology among MSMEs in creating content that can attract consumers in Garut Regency. The purpose of this community service is to help and educate MSME actors in creating good content on social media so that it can attract consumers. The method used in this community service uses a direct mentoring method for MSMEs with several stages including observation, preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results of this service show success where MSME actors are very interactive in this activity to solve their problems and concerns in the content creation process. It is hoped that MSME actors can apply the understanding they gain in this content creation mentoring activity.

Abstract

Investigative journalism is a form of news coverage in which journalists delve deeply into information or events that may expose corruption, analyze government policies or private company practices, or uncover economic, political, and cultural trends. Investigative news coverage is typically obtained by investigative journalists when they are interested in an issue and have a strong desire to find out something. Therefore, the work of investigative journalism is not constrained by time pressure; often, investigative journalists spend years, even decades, working on a single investigative report. In this study, the author employs the theory of critical discourse analysis by Teun A Van Dijk, which focuses on the textual dimensions of a magazine, news, or broadcast. Based on this, it is important to conduct a critical discourse analysis of Tempo magazine. This research analyzes two issues: microstructure and superstructure. The study also uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with observation as the data collection method. The results of this research show that, in terms of microstructure and superstructure discourse, Tempo magazine with the title "TREASURE OF TAX OFFICIALS" can be considered a means for the implementation of investigative journalism through the careful choice of words, language, sentence structure, and style, successfully uncovering a case of tax officials' corruption.

Abstract

Desain grafis mulai dikenal dan dimanfaatkan oleh manusia sejak abad ke-19 sebagai sarana komunikasi visual. Dalam perkembangannya hingga era modern saat ini, desain grafis digunakan untuk menyampaikan pesan melalui elemen visual seperti gambar, teks, dan garis. Media ini memungkinkan komunikasi baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung antar individu. Desain sendiri merupakan representasi visual yang melibatkan konsep geometri kompleks. Meski tampak sederhana dan kurang estetis, proses penciptaan desain membutuhkan analisis mendalam untuk menghasilkan ide baru. Desain grafis mencerminkan cara berpikir manusia dalam menyederhanakan informasi agar mudah dipahami. Pelatihan desain grafis ini dilaksanakan di Gedung D Asrama Putra, dengan peserta dari Santri Putra dan Putri Multimedia, masing-masing berjumlah 4 orang. Kegiatan berlangsung selama 2 hari, dari pukul 08.00 hingga 16.00. Metode pelatihan mencakup penyampaian materi dan praktik langsung menggunakan perangkat seperti laptop. Hasilnya, peserta mampu memahami prinsip keseimbangan, mengatur kontras, memberi warna dan pola pada objek, serta mendesain logo yang menarik. Kegiatan ini juga mendorong kreativitas individu maupun kelompok sebagai bekal awal untuk memasuki dunia kerja.

Abstract

This study examines the communication strategy of the Health Office and the cadres of the Cihuni Village Posyandu, Pangatikan District, Garut Regency in an effort to accelerate stunting reduction. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of posyandu cadres, village officials, and health center workers. The results of the study show that the success of stunting prevention socialization is influenced by three main factors: the preparation of simple and relevant nutrition messages, the selection of appropriate communication channels, and the credibility of communicators. A combination of face-to-face through posyandu, home visits, and the use of digital media such as WhatsApp has been shown to increase the participation of mothers under five and encourage behavior change, such as increased adherence to exclusive breastfeeding and monitoring of child growth. The obstacles faced include low attendance of residents during the harvest season, limited educational media, and diverse health literacy. However, the community's response showed an increase in knowledge and active involvement in posyandu activities, indicating the effectiveness of the communication strategy implemented. This research emphasizes the importance of synergy between village governments, health workers, and posyandu cadres in conveying contextual and sustainable health messages to achieve the national target of stunting reduction.

Abstract

Social media, especially Instagram, is now the main tool for politicians to build public image and communication, especially ahead of the 2024 Regional Elections in Garut. Princess Karlina uses Instagram to display her personal and campaign side, analyzed with Goffman's dramaturgy theory highlighting front and back stage strategies in shaping an authentic political image. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with an analysis of the content of @bestiputri Instagram uploads and in-depth interviews with account managers. Each upload is analyzed based on visual, narrative, and audience interaction elements, and then categorized as a front or back stage to understand @bestiputri digital political communication strategy holistically. The front stage contains formal activities and campaigns, while the back stage displays a personal side. Image-damaging elements are hidden, so Instagram becomes a performance arena for shaping public opinion and emotional closeness to Instagram voters is effectively used @bestiputri to build and manage self-image through front and back stage strategies. The dramaturgical approach allows politicians to organize their presentations, choosing what is shown, thus emphasizing the strategic role of social media in local political campaigns and showcasing the involvement of women politicians in the digital space.

Abstract

Pendidikan tinggi memegang peranan penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Namun, berdasarkan data, tingkat partisipasi masyarakat Indonesia dalam pendidikan, khususnya di Kabupaten Karawang, masih tergolong rendah. Salah satu inovasi untuk menumbuhkan minat melanjutkan pendidikan adalah penggunaan media edutainment yang menggabungkan unsur edukasi dengan hiburan, seperti tayangan Clash of Champions dari Ruangguru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh tayangan tersebut terhadap minat siswa SMA untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang perguruan tinggi. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Pembelajaran Sosial dari Albert Bandura yang menekankan empat komponen pembelajaran melalui pengamatan, yaitu attention, retention, reproduction, dan motivation. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei kuantitatif melalui kuesioner, dengan teknik sampling kuota, melibatkan 60 siswa kelas 12 SMA Negeri 1 Tirtajaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan seluruh dimensi teori berada pada kategori cukup tinggi. Analisis korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang kuat dan positif antara paparan program Clash of Champions dengan minat siswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa program pendidikan yang dikemas dengan elemen hiburan dapat secara efektif meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan.

Abstract

This study analyzes the dynamics of political communication and voter responses in the 2024 Garut regional election by highlighting differences in campaign strategies, the role of the media, and the influence of local institutions. Drawing on political communication theory—including agenda setting, framing, political storytelling, and populist communication—and a neo-institutionalist approach, this study explains how formal and informal institutions shape the effectiveness of political messages. Using media content analysis, digital discourse analysis, word network visualization, and in-depth interviews, the study finds that the Helmi–Yudi ticket emphasizes an image of experience and stability, while the Syakur–Putri ticket prioritizes a narrative of change through populist and digital strategies. Social media remains a dominant arena in shaping public opinion, while Garut's socio-religious structure continues to influence voter preferences. This research contributes to the development of a model that integrates political communication and neo-institutionalism, while enriching the study of voter behavior at the local level.
