Abstract

Aceh has great talents and prodigy who need intervention. Talking about these talents should start with understanding them as a whole, who they really are, how can we identify them, how can we best serve them for their best potential growth.  Designing the programs that best suit them become the next step after carefully selecting them. Later, we need to formulate special programs, special schools, special human resource who will work with them to boost these prodigies’ abilities. Failing to do so will only result in undermining and downgrading their ability instead of doing them a favor. It is highly recommended that government start tapping into this as early as possible for maximum result. In this short article, I also present on how government should work with these talents and prodigies by carefully selecting them. Selection process will later base the whole programs and determine its success. Different approach and interventions are presented here as option and ways to be taken and considered for best result possible.  These approaches are not the only solution to be considered. There should be more out there that government should also consider. Last aspect, but not least, is developing human resources who will teach them. Teachers must be carefully selected and trained so that they can understand and are able to pace up and formulate the curriculum that best serve their students’ need.

Abstract

The Indonesian is a nation that is very rich in culture. Rapa’i Daboih is one of the customs and cultures that developed in Acehnese society which demonstrates the magic of the immune dance and is played by 6-8 people in groups. This research is conducted to preserve the Rapa’i Daboih culture and pass it on to the younger generation since it is starting to lose its grip upon the eyes of the Acehnese people. This study aims to explore the background history and development of Rapa’i Daboih in Aceh, how it existed and has grown, up to the current era. The study brings about two main objectives; a) to understand the implementation and procedures of Rapa’i Daboih; b) to study the background history of Rapa’i Daboih and its early development in Aceh, especially in North Aceh. This study was conducted in Ulee Pulo dan Paloh Lada village, two villages in the North Aceh district. The study undertook a conventional qualitative approach method starting with an interview with actors in the subject and followed by observation and documentation of their activities in the field.ABSTRAKIndonesia merupakan bangsa yang sangat kaya akan budaya. Rapa’i Daboih merupakan salah satu adat dan budaya yang berkembang di masyarakat Aceh yang mempertunjukkan kesaktian tarian kebal, dan dimainkan oleh 6-8 orang secara berkelompok. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melestarikan budaya Rapa’i Daboih dan mewariskannya kepada generasi muda, karena sudah mulai kehilangan cengkeramannya pada masyarakat Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali latar belakang sejarah dan perkembangan Rapa’i Daboih di Aceh, asal muasal munculnya, dan perkembangannya hingga saat ini. Studi ini memiliki dua tujuan utama; a) memahami pelaksanaan dan prosedur Rapa’i Daboih; b) mempelajari latar belakang sejarah Rapa’i Daboih dan awal perkembanganya di Aceh, khususnya di Aceh Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Ulee Pulo dan Paloh Lada, dua desa di Kabupaten Aceh Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif konvensional yang diawali dengan wawancara dengan aktor-aktor yang menjadi subjek penelitian dan dilanjutkan dengan observasi dan dokumentasi kegiatan mereka di lapangan.

Abstract

Breast cancer awareness is a critical component of women's health promotion, aiming to increase knowledge about the disease, its risk factors, and early detection methods. This program was designed to raise awareness about breast cancer among women through information dissemination, leaflets, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. Drawing on existing research, the program emphasizes the importance of early detection through regular self-examination and screening. Studies have shown that public health campaigns can effectively initiate behavior change and improve health beliefs related to breast cancer screening. By leveraging insights from previous campaigns and research, this program seeks to empower women to prioritize their breast health, enhance awareness, and promote early detection strategies. The abstract highlights the significance of tailored interventions, community engagement, and targeted awareness initiatives in addressing the growing concern of breast cancer among women.

Abstract

The Mudik tradition in Indonesia, attracting millions of people annually, involves mass migration from urban areas to hometowns during major holidays. While traditionally a time for family reunions and cultural activities, Mudik is a complex phenomenon with profound implications for Indonesian society, especially among different ethnic groups. This study utilizes qualitative ethnography to explore the social and cultural impact of Mudik in Indonesia. Participants from diverse ethnic backgrounds, such as Javanese, Sundanese, Balinese, and Madurese, provide valuable insights. Findings show that Mudik preserves cultural traditions, strengthens family ties, and promotes group cohesion. However, modernization has led to changes in Mudik gatherings. Nonetheless, it remains a strong link connecting migrant workers with their families, positively influencing social ties and work performance. Additionally, Mudik contributes to the formation of social identity and cultural practices. Respondents' experiences highlight the diversity of Mudik traditions and the need for a nuanced understanding to address stereotypes within Indonesia's cultural landscape. This research sheds light on Mudik's significance for different ethnic groups in Indonesia.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dari representasi surealisme dalam dalam drama Korea While You Were Sleeping yang tayang pada tahun 2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kepustakaan yang berpusat pada analisis drama tanpa ada pembanding dengan karya sastra lainnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif, dengan menganalisa scene drama Korea While You Were Sleeping. Data dari penelitian ini adalah scene serta dialog dari drama Korea While You Were Sleeping. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah drama Korea While You Were Sleeping. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik catat dan Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dari drama Korea While You Were Sleeping, ditemukan 75 data yang merepresentasikan surealisme. Terdapat dua jenis surealisme yaitu murni dan ekspresif, dimana 40 di antaranya merupakan data surealisme murni, dan 35 lainnya merupakan data dari surealisme ekspresif. Kedua jenis tersebut direpresentasi dalam bentuk scene serta dialog yang berbentuk mimpi, pembicaraan mengenai mimpi, usaha mengubah masa depan, realita yang sejalan dengan mimpi, mimpi dan masa depan yang berhasil diubah, dan flashback (kilas balik).Kata kunci: Surealisme, Drama Korea, While You Were SleepingABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the forms of surrealism representation in the Korean drama 'While You Were Sleeping' which aired in 2017. It is a literature review that focuses on the analysis of the drama without any comparison to other literary works.    The research method used was qualitative research, which allowed the researcher to examine the entire content of the Korean drama 'While You Were Sleeping' and represent its surrealistic form. The data for this study consisted of scenes and dialogues from the drama. The data source was the drama itself. The data collection technique used was note-taking and non-participant observation. Based on the research conducted on the Korean drama 'While You Were Sleeping,' 75 instances of surrealism were identified. Among them, 40 were pure surrealism, while the remaining 35 were expressive surrealism.  Both types are represented through scenes and dream-like dialogues, discussions about dreams, attempts to change the future, reality that aligns with dreams, successfully altered dreams and future, and flashbacks.Keywords: surealism, Korean Drama, While You Were Sleeping

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan literasi membaca siswa melalui dampak penggunaan Wattpad. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 1 Dewantara yang berjumlah 208 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik kuesioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan literasi membaca siswa melalui dampak penggunaan Wattpad secara per indikator, yakni kognitif dengan persentase (83,33%) dalam kategori dampak yang sangat tinggi, diversi dengan persentase (27,78%) dalam kategori dampak yang rendah, dan identitas personal dengan persentase (83,33%) dalam kategori dampak yang sangat tinggi. Secara keseluruhan, penggunaan Wattpad memiliki dampak positif terhadap kemampuan literasi membaca siswa SMA Negeri 1 Dewantara. Persentase rata-rata sebesar 64,81% dalam kategori tinggi yang menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Wattpad dapat membantu siswa memperluas wawasan literasi, mengembangkan identitas personal, dan memperkaya pemahaman siswa tentang sastra.Kata kunci: dampak, penggunaan Wattpad, literasi membaca ABSTRACTThis research aims to determine the level of reading literacy skills among students through the impact of using Wattpad. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The population in this study consists of 208 students from grade XI at SMA Negeri 1 Dewantara. The sampling technique was done using purposive sampling, with a sample size of 30 students. Data collection was done using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the level of reading literacy skills among students through the impact of using Wattpad, categorized by indicators, are as follows: cognitive impact with a percentage of 83.33% in the category of very high impact, diversion with a percentage of 27.78% in the category of low impact, and personal identity with a percentage of 83.33% in the category of very high impact. Overall, the use of Wattpad has a positive impact on the reading literacy skills of students at SMA Negeri 1 Dewantara. The average percentage is 64.81% in the high category, indicating that the use of Wattpad can help students expand their literacy knowledge, develop personal identity, and enrich their understanding of literature.Keywords: keyword 1, keyword 2, keyword 3, keyword 4, maximal 5 keywords

Abstract

Tes International English Language Testing Services i(IELTS) imerupakan standard tes uji kemampuan berbahasa Inggris yang valid dan terpercaya. Writing dalam IELTS relevan dengan dunia pendidikan di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Oleh karena itu, tim dosen Universitas Malikussaleh mlaksanakan program pelatihan Writing IELTS kepada guru-guru Bahasa Inggris SMA dan SMK Se-Kota Lhokseumawe guna meningkatkan kapasitas mereka dalam memahami tabel, garfis, maupun bagan serta mengembangkannya dalam tulisan yang baik dan teratur. 42 orang guru Bahasa Inggris tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas, SMA dan SMK di wilayah pemerintahan Kota Lhokseumawe di undang guna mengikuti pelatihan ini. Para peserta diajarkan materi writing, task 1 dan task 2, dan mengembangkan high order thinking. Kegiatan ini difasilitasi oleh 2 orang tutor dari unsur dosen Unimal mengajarkan materi pelatihan serta memfasilitasi kegiatan sampai dengan selesai. Para ipeserta merespon kegiatan dengan baik. Mereka mengukuti instruksi dan berusaha menyelesaikan sessi sampai dengan selesai. Banyak guru yang berharap agar diberikan pelatihan selanjutnya guna pengembangan kapasitas keilmuan yang lebih baik

Abstract

Health literacy plays a critical role in education. Incorporating health literacy into educational programs improves students’ ability to make knowledgeable health decisions and supports a better and healthier lifestyle. This study aims to unveil the attitudes, preparation, and obstacles or resources that teacher-training students have while including health literacy in their lessons. It seeks to ascertain their opinions on encouraging health-conscious classrooms, their level of preparedness to use health literacy, and the obstacles or facilitators to its successful use. This study emphasizes the value of incorporating health literacy into teacher preparation programs, stresses the roles that educators play in raising health awareness, and makes recommendations for changes to educational policies. With a focus on the senior year of Indonesian Language Education majors at the Faculty of Education, this qualitative study incorporated semi-structured interviews with five Lecturers and fifteen randomly selected students from Indonesian Language Majors. The study found that real-world health subjects encourage engagement, and health literacy improves student well-being by encouraging healthy practices that improve focus and learning. A lack of resources can make students less confident when researching content, therefore they require courses that are structured and have defined strategies. Integration is difficult due to time restrictions, but tools such as online resources and guest lectures, as well as cross-disciplinary inclusion, can promote successful learning.
