Abstract

This community development program aimed to equip Gen Z students at SMA Al Azhar 19 Ciracas with essential entrepreneurial competencies, focusing on the application of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) as a fundamental tool for business planning and development. To achieve these objectives, the program employed a blended approach that combined theoretical instruction with practical, interactive activities. The initiative commenced with a preliminary assessment to evaluate the students' baseline understanding, followed by dynamic lectures, workshops, and the incorporation of interactive games to ensure high levels of engagement and active participation. The program enabled students to apply the BMC framework to their own business ideas, supported by continuous feedback from mentors, fostering iterative learning and improvement. Results demonstrated significant enhancements in the students’ understanding and ability to develop and communicate their business concepts effectively. Furthermore, the program’s findings have practical applications, as the students are now better prepared to utilize the BMC in real-world scenarios, driving innovation and entrepreneurship within their communities. In conclusion, this initiative not only improved entrepreneurial education by nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills but also contributed to the students’ readiness for future business endeavors, ultimately supporting their roles as innovative contributors to their local economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of disaster risk on the stability and the ability of rural Indonesia to mobilize third-party funds. The data used in this research comprises information from 1,502 rural banks across 283 cities or regencies in 37 provinces. Observations of these rural banks were conducted over five years, from 2019 to 2023, yielding an unbalanced panel data with 7,226 observations. The methodology employed in this study is panel data analysis using a fixed effect model. The results indicate that disaster risk has a negative and significant effect on the stability of rural banks. In contrast, the ability of rural banks to mobilize third-party funds is not affected by disaster risk. A more in-depth analysis reveals that differences in rural banks' characteristics also influence the impact of disaster risk. Rural banks located on Java Island and those not owned by the government are more significantly impacted in terms of financial stability. Meanwhile, government-owned rural banks are more affected by their ability to mobilize third-party funds. These findings suggest that rural banks located on Java Island and those not government-owned should implement better risk mitigation measures, such as collaborating with larger financial institutions for asset management, to reduce the negative impact of disaster risk on economic stability.

Abstract

The study intends to evaluate the influence of peer-to-peer lending (P2P lending) on banks performance, focusing on differences in core capital classifications. Using data from the Financial Service Authority and Bank Indonesia websites, the analysis spans the fourth quarter of 2021 to the third quarter of 2023. The results reveal that P2P lending negatively affects bank performance, with more significant adverse impacts observed in banks with lower core capital, categorized under KBMI 1 and 2, compared to KBMI 3 and 4. These findings underscore the need for regulatory policies tailored to address the vulnerabilities of smaller banks, including measures to promote consolidation and capital augmentation. This study offers valuable insights into the interplay between financial technology and banking regulations, providing practical implications for policymakers and stakeholders.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in the world before 2020 has changed the business world drastically, affecting companies in various sectors including property & real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This research aims to determine the influence of profitability, liquidity and firm size ratios on financial distress in properties & real estate companies listed on the IDX for the 2020-2022 period. The research results showed that all of the 8 companies studied experienced financial distress and simultaneously the profitability ratio (ROE), liquidity (CR) and firm size (FS) variables had a significant effect on financial distress (FD). Partially, the profitability and liquidity ratio variables have a significant effect on financial distress, but the firm size variable does not have a significant effect on financial distress. It can be said that the higher the value of the profitability ratio (ROE) variable, the lower the occurrence of financial distress. Then, the lower the value of the liquidity ratio (CR) variable, the lower the occurrence of financial distress. Finally, the firm size variable which does not have a significant effect on financial distress shows that a lower value will also reduce the risk of financial distress, although not significantly.
