Abstract

This research is based on the low mathematical problem-solving ability of students, one of which is because during the learning process students tend to be silent and not confident when answering the practice questions given, there is no courage to answer every question given. The purpose of this study is to find out students' mathematical problem-solving ability reviewed from mathematical disposition. This type of research is a qualitative description research. The research subjects were selected 3 students out of 29 students, namely, one student for each category of mathematical disposition, including high, medium, and low mathematical disposition categories. The instruments used are questionnaire instruments, mathematical problem-solving ability tests, and interview guidelines. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. The data validity technique used is triangulation technique. Based on the results of this study, students with a high category of mathematical disposition have a level of mathematical problem-solving ability with a very good category. Then students with a moderate category of mathematical disposition have a level of mathematical problem-solving ability with a sufficient category. Furthermore, students with a low category of mathematical disposition have a different level of mathematical problem-solving ability, which is less and less

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Student Activity Oriented Learning (PBAS) strategy on mathematics learning outcomes. This pre-experimental study used a research design. Static Group Analysis using Isolated Randomised Control Group Architecture. The demographics of this study consisted of VIII grade students of SMP N 4 Kinali. The sampling technique used was random sampling. In this research sample, Class VIII.3 represented the experimental group, while Class VIII.1 as the control group. The calculation results show that t_(count) is smaller than ttable. This means that the Ho test decision is rejected with a significance level of α = 0.05. At a significance level of α = 0.05, the P value is determined to be 0.001 through Minitab, indicating that the P value is below α. Ho's agreement was rejected, while H1 was granted. The results showed that the application of Student Activity Oriented Learning (PBAS) strategies significantly improved the academic achievement of students in class VIII of SMP N 4 Kinali in the 2023/2024 school year

Abstract

This research is backed by the observation results of the researcher, which show that the learning activities of ninth grade students are still teacher-centered. The teacher has used media in the form of teaching aids. However, it appears that the students are still not interested in the media provided. The purpose of this research is to determine whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students using the expository learning model with interactive media iSpring Suite in the ninth grade at MTs Muhammadiyah Pakan Sinayan. This study is an experimental research. The population in this study consists of all ninth grade students at MTsS Muhammadiyah Pakan Sinayan, which consists of 4 classes totaling 69 students. The sample was selected randomly (random sampling) after conducting normality tests, homogeneity of variance tests, and mean equality tests on the population. The sample size was 34 students. The research instrument used was a test to assess student learning outcomes. Based on the data analysis, the calculated t-value was greater than the critical t-value in both the control and experimental groups. Therefore, it was concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students using the expository learning strategy with interactive media iSpring Suite were better than those of students using the expository learning strategy without interactive media in Class IX at MTsS Muhammadiyah Pakan Sinayan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to enable students to develop creativity, ability, and problem-solving power according to their own will. This type of research is pre-experimental research with the Static Group Comparison Design research design. The samples in this study were students of class VIII.3 as the experimental class and VIII.1 as the control class. The instruments in this study were observation sheets of learning activities and problem solving tests. The results of this study obtained a recapitulation of observations of student learning activities showing active criteria with an average of 62.49%, and based on the results of the analysis of student problem solving tests using the t-test and using Minitab software assistance which indicated that H0 was rejected. From the calculation results obtained tcount = 1.812 while ttable = 1.670. By using Minitab software, P-value (0.03) < α (0.05) is obtained. So it can be concluded that "Solving student math problems using the Jigsaw cooperative learning model is better than solving student math problems using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 1 Koto XI Tarusan".

Furthermore, the learning process carried out by teachers uses conventional learning, resulting in a lack of student activeness during the learning process. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the MURDER learning model on students' understanding of mathematical concepts. This type of research is quantitative. The research method used is an experimental research method with a Posttest Only Group Design. The research population is grade X Phase E students at SMA N 1 Lembah Melintang. Sampling was carried out using a simple random sampling technique. The sample in this study was students from class XE2 as the experimental class, totaling 33 people, and class XE4 as the control class, totaling 33 people. The research instrument used was a test of students' mathematical concept understanding abilities. The data analysis technique using the t-test obtained t_hitung=5,08 and t_tabel=1,67. While using Minitab Software obtained P_Value=0,000. Because t_hitung>t_tabel and P_Value<α with a significance level of α=0,05, H_0 is rejected. The results of the study are "There is an influence of the MURDER learning model on students' understanding of mathematical concepts."
