Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in combinatorics problem solving abilities of students after the problem based learning model has been applied. This research was conducted in two cycles. From the results of the initial test obtained a percentage of classical completeness of students' combinatorics problem solving ability of 0% with an average value of 1,24; in the first cycle it increased to 80% with an average of 2,80; and in cycle II it increased to 86,67% with an average of 2,86. Improved student test results are also seen in each combinatorics model. In the distribution model, the average value of students in the cycle I is 3,01 and in the cycle II increases to 3,06. In the partition model, the average value of students in the cycle I is 2,70 and in the cycle II increases to 2,81. In the selection model, the average value of students in the cycle I is 2.68 and in the cycle II increases to 2,70. The management of learning carried out by the teacher in the cycle I was included in the good category, in the cycle II it increased very well. From the results of these studies it can be concluded that the problem based learning model can improve students' combinatorics problem solving abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan guna menganalisis kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) yang ditinjau melalui minat belajarnya dalam menyelesaikan persoalan matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X di SMA Tritech Informatika dengan sampelnya yaitu siswa kelas X yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes dan angket. Data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji One-Way ANOVA. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa adalah 74,31 dan mayoritas siswa memiliki tingkat minat belajar pada kategori sedang. Berdasarkan analisis One-Way ANOVA diperoleh nilai F hitung sebesar 29,918 dengan nilai sig. 0,000. Karena nilai F hitung > F tabel (29,918 > 3,285) dan nilai sig. < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,000) maka disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata kemampuan matematis siswa berdasarkan tingkat minat belajar rendah, sedang dan tinggi.

Abstract

The study was carried out in the VIII class of junior school Baitul Aziz of the 2022-2023 school year aimed at analyzing learners' literacy of mathematics skills on the matter of PISA oriented questions with uncertainty and data content. This research implemented a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional research design. The participants of this research was learners of class VIII-1 and VIII-2 as many as 37 learners. The research data included a written test with data analysis by categorizing mathematical literacy abilities into 3 categories, they are low, medium and high. The outcome of the test showed that 1) the mathematical literacy abilities of male learners point to high levels of category at a percentage of 7.14%, a medium figure of 85.71%, and a low category of 7.14%; 2) female learner mathematical literacy abilities indicate at a high category of 17.37%, a medium category of 56.52%, and a low category of 26.09%; 3) it was concluded that the literacy of mathematics of the male learners is equal to the literacy of mathematics of the female learners because the largest percentage of the category falls at medium.

Abstract

This research aims to overcome a problem in the field of mathematics by utilizing the concept of ethnomathematics, especially in terms of social arithmetic. Apart from that, this research can also be used as a mathematics learning resource that introduces Indonesian culture through the use of traditional food. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research that uses an ethnographic approach as a research method. This research will use various methods such as interviews, observation, documentation and literature review to collect data. The researchers also collected secondary data, namely taking quotations from several journals as references. In data analysis, it can be concluded that of the two groups of cassava tapai traders studied, the first group experienced an increase in profits of 39.86% every day. If all the goods are sold, the second group will get a profit of 182.68% every day. So it can be concluded that the second group of cassava tapai traders received greater benefits than the first group of cassava tapai traders

Abstract

The research was conducted with the aim of finding out the implementation of Maghrib Koran recitation in Kwala Mencirim village. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using interview, documentation and observation techniques. This activity is one of the activities designed by Mathematics-2 Education students and students with the aim of increasing the religious beliefs of children in Kwala village to characterize and revive the children's enthusiasm for reciting the Koran after Maghrib. Because this activity has almost never been carried out at the Ainul Yaqin mosque (Kwala Mencirim Emplasm).

Abstract

Stunting is a developmental disorder in children caused by poor nutrition, repeated infections, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. A child can be defined as stunted if his age height is more than two standard deviations, below the provisions of the Child Growth Standard. The high incidence of stunting in Indonesia is one of the factors due to people's misunderstanding about stunting where they consider it reasonable about the proportion of their children's height, the mother's understanding factor is a very important factor in preventing stunting where stunting in children tends to occur in mothers who have less understanding. Understanding from mothers/expectant mothers really needs to be improved optimally to prevent and break the chain of stunting.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Mathematics learning media in the form of a Math Pocket Book with a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) approach that is valid, practical, and effective, with a focus on enhancing student motivation and creating an engaging learning environment. The research was conducted at SMPN 3 Medan during the academic year 2023/2024, using the Research and Development (R&D) method and following the 4-D model (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate) developed by Thiagarajan. The validation results of the Math Pocket Book by validators showed a validity rate of 86.67%, indicating excellent validity. Furthermore, in a small-scale trial involving 20 students from class VIII-H, an N-Gain score of 62.49% was obtained in comparison between pre-tests and post-tests, demonstrating a sufficient level of effectiveness for use as a Mathematics learning media. Additionally, based on teacher responses to the questionnaire, the book was considered highly practical, with a practicality rating of 96.47%. According to student responses in the questionnaire, the book was also deemed highly practical, with a rating of 82.59%. Based on the results and discussions of the research conducted, the Math Pocket Book with a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) approach is considered to meet the standards of validity, effectiveness, and practicality required for use as a Mathematics learning media for 7th-grade junior high school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian yang menggunakan metode pendekatan desriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan secara utuh dan mendalam mengenai sesuatu yang kita teliti atau kita amati.Salah satu keterampilan yang harus dikuasai siswa adalah menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika. Hasil penelitian tentang kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh para siswa tersebut dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika adalah kesalahan dalam membaca soal dilakukan sebanyak 0 kesalahan, kesalahan dalam memahami soal dilakukan sebanyak 28 kesalahan, kesalahan dalam mentransformasi soal dilakukan sebanyak 38 kesalahan, kesalahan dalam memproses soal dilakukan sebanyak 38 kesalahan dan kesalahan dalam penarikan kesimpulan dilakukan sebanyak 38 kesalahan. Terdapat 4 jenis kesalahan dari 5 jenis kesalahan dalam metode Newman yang dilakukan oleh peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Angkola Barat yaitu kesalahan dalam memahami soal, kesalahan dalam mentransformasi soal, kesalahan dalam memproses soal, dan kesalahan dalam penarikan kesimpulan. ABSTRACT This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach aimed at providing a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the subject being researched or observed. One of the essential skills students must master is solving word problems in mathematics. The research findings regarding the errors made by students in solving mathematical word problems show the following: no errors were made in reading the problem, 28 errors occurred in understanding the problem, 38 errors were made in transforming the problem, 38 errors happened in processing the problem, and 38 errors occurred in drawing conclusions. Out of the five types of errors in the Newman method, four types were identified among the eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Angkola Barat: errors in understanding the problem, errors in transforming the problem, errors in processing the problem, and errors in drawing conclusions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa masih rendah dan siswa merasa pembelajaran matematika kurang menarik dan membosankan. Hal ini perlu diatasi dengan model pembelajaran yang tepat, yaitu dengan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi – eksperimen (eksperimen semu). Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tambangan, dengan jumlah sampel 26 siswa kelompok eksperimen dan 25 siswa kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Pengujian validitas instrument dengan menggunakan rumus masing-masing yang dibantu dengan Microsof Excel. Serta uji t-test untuk pengujian hipotesis penelitian. Hasi penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis game “berburu ubur-ubur” terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji hipotesis uji t yang menunjukkan bahwa nilai thitung > ttabel yaitu 2,074 > 2,009 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dari hasil temuan penelitian maka pembelajaran berbasis game layak diterapkan di dalam kelas sebagai salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Tambangan. ABSTRACK This study was motivated by the fact that students' problem-solving abilities are still low and students feel that mathematics learning is less interesting and boring. This needs to be overcome with the right learning model, namely with a learning model that can improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The research methodology uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental approach (quasi-experiment). The population of the study was students of class XI of SMA Negeri 1Tambangan, with a sample size of 26 students in the experimental group and 25 students in the control group. Data collection techniques used tests. Testing the validity of the instrument using each formula assisted by Microsoft Excel. As well as a t-test for testing the research hypothesis. The results of the study revealed that there was an influence of the game-based learning model "jellyfish hunting" on students'mathematical problem-solving abilities. This is evidenced by the results of the t-test hypothesis test which showed that the t-count value> t-table, namely 2.074> 2.009, then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. From the research findings, game-based learning is feasible to be applied in the classroom as one of the solutions to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities at SMA Negeri 1 Tambangan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 24 Medan. Salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi masalah ini adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching And Learning. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen (Eksperimen Semu). Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 24 Medan, dengan jumlah sampel 30 siswa kelompok eksperimen dan 30 siswa kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan kelas yang sudah ada (Sampling purposive). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan tes yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa adalah dengan menggunakan tes berbentuk uraian. Adapun hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching And Learning terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji hipotesis dengan “uji t” yang menunjukkan bahwa nilai T-hitung = 5.9930 dan T-tabel= 2.00172 maka dapat dikatakan bahwa T-hitung > T-tabelmaka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Maka dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching And Learning terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 24 Medan. ABSTRACK This research was motivated by the low ability to understand mathematical concepts of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 24 Medan. One solution to overcome this problem is to use the Contextual Teaching And Learning learning model approach. This research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type of research (Quasi Experiment). The population was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 24 Medan, with a sample size of 30 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group. The sampling technique used in this research was based on existing classes (purposive sampling). The data collection technique used in this research is a test that is used to determine students' ability to understand mathematical concepts by using a test in the form of a description. The research results obtained show that there is an influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. This is proven by the results of hypothesis testing with the "t test" which shows that the value of t-count = 5.9930 and t-tabel = 2.00172, so it can be said that t-coun t > t-table then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So from these results it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Contextual Teaching And Learning learning model on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts at SMP Negeri 24 Medan.
