The COVID-19 pandemic and measures to prevent its spread caused a severe contraction in the world economy. The International Monetary Fund projects that the global economy will shrink by around 4.4 percent in 2020, the worst recession since the Second World War. Abstract

This research discusses the concept of anger emotional control, a phenomenon that often occurs in the scope of society related to fellow humans, as a person easily vents his anger against anyone without accurate prevention and handling both verbally and nonverbally and how these topics will be discussed. Regarding the emotion of anger, it can usually be understood as bad behavior such as saying rudely, hitting, and showing scary expressions, with the guidance of lust al-anger can result in evil, for someone who cannot control his anger will fall into a loss. The definition of this assumption has been developed and found in dictionaries as well as current indexes. As a source of guidance for Muslims, the Qur'an provides many explanations about the emotion of anger in the focus of the term Ghadab and Ghilzah, so that this verse is easy for everyone to understand, of course it needs to be interpreted clearly and concisely. Therefore, the author here would like to try to offer a clear and concise explanation of the problem of conceptual control of anger emotions from the perspective of Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah in the tafsir of Al-Azhar, regarding the analysis of anger emotions in the Tafsir Al-Azhar and the stages of controlling the emotions of anger in the Quran according to the Tafsir Al-Azhar. This research is library research, for which the author takes steps to identify, collect, process and study existing data related to anger emotions, both in the form of primary and secondary data accurately and factually. Meanwhile, the secondary data in question are other literature in the form of research books and other articles which of course are related to the problem of controlling anger emotions in the Qur'an and Tafsir Al-Azhar. This study found several conclusions that the Qur'an describes anger in various terms, but the researcher's focus is on the terms ghadab and ghilzah. A more actual understanding of anger recognizes that this trait does have a place in certain situations, but it doesn't always have to be expressed physically. Often, it takes an internal effort to overcome it. The concept of anger is not only limited to its literal meaning, but it is also understood as a condition that has the potential to bring harm, which can cause a person to deviate from the truth. And according to the tafsir of Al-Azhar by Buya Hamka, the stages of controlling the emotion of anger are by dhikr to Allah, being patient, forgiving others, and doing ihsan, that is, always doing good to others.

Abstract

Qawm is one of the terms used in the Qur’an to refer to a group of people. Using a qualitative study with an analytical descriptive approach based on library research, this study explored the meaning of the word qawm in the Qur’an through the semantic approach of Toshihiko Izutsu. The aimed of this study was to uncover the true meaning of qawm and formulate a final conclusion regarding the weltanschauung or worldview associated with the term. The semantic analysis based on Izutsu’s method involves several steps: identifying the key term, determining its basic and relational meanings, revealing its historical development, and finally describing the weltanschauung of qawm in the Qur’anic context. The findings showed that in the Qur’an, qawm does not merely signify a group based on ethnicity or culture, but rather a community evaluated through their attitude toward divine teachings. The term encompasses both men and women who live together as a group. The Qur’an classifies qawm into two categories: positive characters—those who believe in and obey Allah; and negative characters —those who reject His teachings and ultimately face destruction. This view indicated that the Qur’an does not judge people based on their origins, but on their faith and moral character. Thus, the concept of qawm reflects the Qur’anic worldview that highlights the importance of spiritual and ethical values in shaping both individual and collective identity.

Abstract

The study of the Qur'ān is not only conducted by Muslim scholars, but also by Western scholars known as orientalists. This study aims to critically analyze the challenges posed by orientalists to the integrity of the Qur'ān, focusing on four main issues: claims of influence from previous religious texts, the Qur'ānic codification process, variations in recitation (qira'at), and the authenticity of language and text structure. The method used in this research is a qualitative study with a literature approach, namely through a critical review of the works of orientalist figures such as Abraham Geiger, John Wansbrough, Richard Bell, and Arthur Jeffery, as well as comparisons from the views of Muslim scholars such as M.M. Al-Azami and Toshihiko Jeffery. Al-Azami and Toshihiko Izutsu. The results show that although orientalists have contributed to opening up a space for academic dialogue about the Qur'ān, many of their claims contain methodological biases and historical assumptions that do not consider the context of Islamic revelation. On the other hand, Islamic scholarly tradition shows that the Qur'ān has undergone a systematic codification process since the time of the Prophet Muhammad, and that variations in recitation (qira'at) are part of the linguistic richness that remains within the framework of Islamic orthodoxy.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Determining the beginning of the Hijri months often gives rise to differences of opinion, especially between Islamic organizations Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). These differences stem from the different method used for hisab (astronomical calculation) and rukyat (moon sighting), as well as the interpretation of Quranic verses. This study aims to analyze the interpretation of Quranic verses concerning the crescent moon and hisab to compare the perspectives of Muhammadiyah and NU. This study uses a qualitative approach with the thematic interpretation method of Quranic verses related to the crescent moon and reckoning. Data were obtained from primary sources such as the Koran and tafsir books, as well as secondary sources such as books and journals. The data were then analyzed comparatively to identify differences between the two groups. The results show that Muhammadiyah prioritizes hisab based on rational interpretation of Quranic verses, while NU prioritizes rukyat with a textual approach based on texts and hadith. These differences have practical implications for determining the beginning of hijri, which are often inconsistent. Different understandings of verses about the crescent moon and hisab reflect the epistemological characteristics of each mass organization. Despite their differing approaches, both aim to safeguard the validity of sharia and the unity of the Muslim community.
