Abstract

The master of ceremony (MC) is one of the abilities that teachers must have when guiding activities carried out in schools, both formal and informal. However, the problem in the field is that not all teachers are ready if given the task of hosting even though they are used to teaching in class, due to the unpreparedness and inability of these teachers to host events with diverse audiences other than students. This community service activity aims to train teachers to prepare themselves to be flexible and communicative hosts. The method used is divided into preparation, implementation and evaluation focused on the preparation of emcee, namely the ability to compile event rundowns and make cue cards. The result of this activity is an increase in the ability to write a host guide in the form of a cue card containing important information that helps when doing emcee practice. In addition, there is flexibility and calmness of participants in guiding both formal and informal event activities

Abstract

The opening of a new study program at an institution must meet several aspects, including feasibility studies. The feasibility study can provide an overview of the prospects of the Study Program that will be opened. FKIP Universitas Terbuka (UT) has several potentials that can be considered to open a new Master of Education study program Indonesian. This research aims to produce an academic paper in the form of recommendations to UT leaders about whether or not the plan to open the Master of Education Study Program Indonesian be opened based on a) The response of prospective Master students to the plan to open a PJJ-based Indonesian Education Study Program; b) The competence of Master of Education graduates Indonesian needed by the community; c) Response from education experts (Association/reviwer Ban PT) to the feasibility of organizing a PJJ-based Indonesian Education S2 study program. The research method uses a descriptive design by conducting a survey in the form of questionnaire distribution, based on region. The results of the questionnaire data collection were analyzed using quantitative methods, then the FGD (interview) data was analyzed qualitatively using SWOT analysis. The research population of (1) undergraduate students of UT Indonesian Education who have programmed the TAP (Final Project Program) course, (2) Participants. Sampling using Proportional Area Random Sampling technique. The results showed that UT has the potential to open a Master of Education Indonesian study program. However, it is still necessary to develop and discuss in detail the curriculum that will be offered to prospective students.

Abstract

In the process of learning Indonesian scientific paper materials, one of the core competencies is the ability to compile and convey complete scientific findings through written papers. However, many students face difficulties when it comes to the writing process. This study aims to understand the learning process of scientific paper writing in the classroom, analyze the factors that contribute to students' struggles in developing scientific papers, and describe the challenges that students face. The research involved high school students who were studying scientific work materials. Qualitative research with descriptive analysis methods was used to gather data. The study revealed that external factors have a considerable impact on students struggling with writing scientific papers. These factors encompass a classroom atmosphere with insufficient learning support, an unsuitable learning environment for scientific paper writing, and inadequate provisions for planning and delivering appropriate learning materials.

Abstract

The integration of explainer videos in language learning has gained significant attention due to their ability to present complex linguistic concepts in a visually engaging and structured manner. This study examines how students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Universitas Terbuka (UT) engage with explainer videos and compares their effectiveness in enhancing language proficiency. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through questionnaires and open-ended responses from students at both institutions. The findings reveal key patterns in student engagement, preferred video formats, and perceived learning benefits, including improvements in vocabulary acquisition, listening comprehension, and speaking confidence. Differences in institutional learning environments and accessibility also influence student experiences with explainer videos. The study further identifies challenges faced by learners, such as attention span limitations and the need for more interactive elements. Insights from this research contribute to the development of more effective video-based instructional strategies for language learning, catering to diverse student needs across different educational contexts.

Abstract

Background: Pelatihan pembuatan bahan ajar interaktif ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan guru SMK mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia untuk dapat menghadirkan materi dan bahan ajar yang lebih menarik dan sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah meningkatkan kompetensi dan keterampilan guru dalam membuat bahan ajar interaktif berbasis digital yang dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran berupa aplikasi Heyzine Flipbooks dan iSpring Suite 11. Metode: Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) melalui 3 tahapan yaitu perencanaan dan persiapan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan evaluasi kegiatan dengan melibatkan 20 guru SMK DKI Jakarta. Hasil: Pelatihan ini mengahasilkan produk bahan ajar interaktif dengan berbagai tema dalam pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berdasarkan kurikulum dan tujuan pembelajaran untuk siswa kelas X SMK yang dihasilkan oleh 20 peserta pelatihan. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kualitas media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMK serta mendorong guru untuk lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi terutama pemanfaatan aplikasi Heyzine Flipbooks dan iSpring Suite 11.

Abstract

Abstract: Literature learning in class XI, one of which is that students are expected to be able to make poems from the literacy process. Variations in literacy are not only in short stories and novels but also in the form of understanding song lyrics. This study aims to analyze figures of speech and meaning in the lyrics of the songs Tutur Batin by Yura Yunita and Jiwa Yang Bersedih by Ghea Indrawari for learning literary skills in high school based on poetry writing skills. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive to describe the style and meaning of song lyrics that can be applied to learning literature in high school. Based on the results of this study, several figures of speech: (1) Comparative, consisting of personification, litotes, and synesthesia; (2) Affirmation, consisting of repetition, apheresis, rhetoric, ellipsis, and tautology; (3) Satirical, consisting of irony and cynicism. In addition, the lyrics of this song use rhyming words in each lyric. The meaning the song has in common is that it describes empathy and appreciates the struggle of someone who feels lonely and disappointed.Keywords: learning media; poetry; song.Abstrak: Pembelajaran sastra di kelas XI salah satunya peserta didik diharapkan dapat membuat puisi dari proses literasi. Variasi literasi tidak hanya dalam bentuk cerpen dan novel, tetapi juga berupa pemahaman lirik lagu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan gaya bahasa dan makna yang terkandung pada lirik lagu Tutur Batin karya Yura Yunita dan Jiwa yang Bersedih karya Ghea Indrawari sebagai media pembelajaran sastra di SMA yang dikolaborasikan dengan keterampilan menulis puisi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan gaya bahasa dan makna pada lirik lagu yang dapat diterapkan untuk proses pembelajaran sastra. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan beberapa gaya bahasa, yaitu: (1) majas perbandingan yang terdiri dari personifikasi, litotes, sinestesia, (2) majas penegasan yang terdiri dari repetisi, aferesis, retoris, elipsis, dan tautologi, (3) majas sindiran yang terdiri dari ironi dan sinisme. Selain itu, dalam lirik lagu ini ditemukan penggunaan kata yang berima di setiap lirik yaitu akhiran vokal dan konsonan, makna lagu memiliki kesamaan yaitu menggambarkan tentang empati dan menghargai per-juangan seseorang yang merasa kesepian dan kecewa. Kata kunci: lagu; media pembelajaran; puisi.

Abstract

This study aims to examine tourists’ perceptions of language use on public information signs in tourism destinations across Lombok, Indonesia. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, and data were collected through a questionnaire-based survey involving 164 respondents. Of these, 100 respondents who had visited Lombok were included in the main analysis. Data were analyzed through three stages: 1) descriptive statistical analysis using frequencies and percentages, 3) data visualization, and 3) interpretation based on linguistic signs as highly useful for understanding tourism environments and navigating destinations. The linguistic landscape features most frequently noticed by tourist include shop and restaurant signs, directional signs, and promotional banner. The results also reveal that bilingual (Indonesia-English) and multilingual signage plays an important role in improving information accessibility and supporting communication among diverse visitor groups. Furthermore, multilingual signs incorporating local languages contribute not only to the informational function of public signage but also to the representation of local cultural identity. These findings highlight the informational and symbolic functions of linguistic landscapes in tourism settings. This study recommends the implementation of multilingual public signage that integrates local, national, and international languages, supported by visually appealing designs that reflect local culture. Such an approach may enhance communication effectiveness, strengthen cultural representation, and improve tourists’ experiences in Lombok tourism destinations.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan pada pola literasi masyarakat, termasuk cara anak-anak mengakses dan menikmati bahan bacaan. Komunitas Kamila Membaca masih berfokus pada buku cetak dan belum memanfaatkan teknologi digital untuk mendukung kegiatan literasi. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi digital komunitas melalui integrasi teknologi dalam aktivitas membaca. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi pentingnya literasi digital, pelatihan integrasi audio-cetak menggunakan Noice dan Majalah Bobo, pemanfaatan buku digital melalui Literacy Cloud, serta penggunaan buku interaktif Unta Ajaib. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif dan refleksi bersama pendamping komunitas. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman pendamping serta antusiasme anak dalam memanfaatkan media literasi digital sebagai pelengkap buku cetak. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa Komunitas Kamila Membaca dapat mengatasi tantangan literasi digital, meningkatkan keterampilan membaca anak-anak, dan memperoleh pengalaman literasi yang lebih bermakna melalui pemanfaatan teknologi secara maksimal.
