Abstract

Maximum performance must be accompanied by structured and systematic training activities. In the training process, we know that four aspects must be considered, namely technical, physical, tactical, and psychological. This psychological aspect is often neglected in the training process, and Taekwondo (TKD) is no exception. A taekwondo athlete needs a variety of psychological components, including motivation, mental, self-confidence, concentration, anxiety, and others. All these psychological components must be following their respective portions, not less or even excess. The purpose of this study was to describe the psychological aspects of taekwondo athletes during training. The research method used in this study is a survey method with a research design using an ex post facto approach. The research instrument used is the Psychological Aspects in Training Phase Questionnaire (PATPQ) questionnaire which contains eight psychological aspects with 50 statements. The results showed as follows: aspects of motivation (82% = very high), mental toughness (81% = very high), self-confidence (76% = high), concentration (73% = high), fighting power (72% = high ), emotional control (66% = high) and anxiety (53% = moderate). So it can be concluded that the psychological aspects of taekwondo athletes in the training phase are still not optimal, but have led to the best performance as the training process goes on.

Abstract

Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic progressive disease that is often experienced by the elderly resulting in pain and joint stiffness which then causes movement or mobility disorders. Complementary therapy eases osteoarthritis with a traditional technique known as non-pharmacological treatment. The aim of this systematic review is to identify the effectiveness of several complementary therapies as osteoarthritis management. Methods: The review was performed according to PRISMA guidelines. We searched from PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect databases. The search identified 14 relevant journals from the 19,123 articles published between 2016 and 2020, and all studies used the Randomized Control Trial (RCT). Results: Complementary therapies consisted of flaxseed poultice compress, acupressure, acupuncture therapy, cumin black oil compress, aromatherapy massage, ginger oil massage, lavender oil massage, sensorimotor exercise, application of heat, exercises with elastic bands, ultrasound therapy, geotherapy combination kinesiotherapy, phonophoresis therapy, and stimulation of compression. Conclusion: The effectiveness of these therapies can be seen from the different results of osteoarthritis patients who received the intervention and the control group. The decrease in the total index WOMAC and Lequesne, VAS and increase in the physical function of patients with osteoarthritis who received the complementary therapy are significantly higher than the control group. It proved that the complementary therapy has positive impact as management of osteoarthritis pain. The effects of complementary therapy have an influence on pain, joint stiffness, and physical function limitations in osteoarthritis patients.

Abstract

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 became a worldwide pandemic. The spread of wrong information causes people to misperceive the information. The massive spread of the virus shows the lack of public knowledge about preventing the transmission of COVID-19. Intrapersonal factors, namely changes in individual behavior, are the main focus of breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19. This study aims to develop an Android-based health education application for COVID-19 prevention behavior in the community. This research method used an exploratory design with an R&D approach which consists of 2 stages. The first stage was making a prototype application through 1) Evaluation of public knowledge and attitudes about COVID-19 prevention with a questionnaire in the form of a google form to find strategic issues; 2) Development and mapping of prototype content through Focus Group Discussions with nurses and expert consultations. The evaluation used a simple random sampling technique on 193 respondents. The second stage was socialization and application feasibility testing on 193 respondents. The results of the first stage were an overview of the implementation of health education that had not been maximized due to the risk of transmission, sufficient knowledge (52.8%), and negative attitudes (63.2%) toward the prevention of COVID-19, as well as a prototype system of health education in applications that include prevention COVID-19 prevention. It was followed by the second stage of socialization and application feasibility testing for users. This study concludes that the development of an android-based application supports effective health promotion efforts in conveying information to increase knowledge and attitudes toward COVID-19 prevention.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the infectious diseases that causes many deaths in the world. One of the successes in reducing the death rate due to TB is with anti-tuberculosis treatment efforts. However, adherence to treatment is a serious problem because the results are still far from what is expected. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of adherence and what factors affect TB patients in treatment during the pandemic. This research was a descriptive analysis study with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples was as high as 261 people. The measuring instrument used was the Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS). The validity and reliability showed that all questions were valid with a correlation value of > 0.396 and a Cronbach coefficient of 0.803. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the factors influencing adherence to taking OAT in TB patients were age, education level, employment status, marital status, location of residence, and income level. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed the dominant factor having the most influence on compliance was the level of education. Respondents with a high school education level have a tendency to have a good compliance level of 22,077 times compared to respondents with a lower level of education.
