Abstract

This article is about the representation of Minangkabau tabedo in the novels of Minangkabau authors after PRRI (Pemerintahan Revolusioner Republik Indonesia). Minangkabau tabedo is a manifestation of the difficult and dilemmatic socio-ideological conditions faced by the Minangkabau people after PRRI. The data of this research are taken from the novels of Minangkabau authors after PRRI, namely Dari Puncak Bukit Talang by Soewardi Idris, Panggilan Tanah Kelahiran by Dt. B. Nurdin Jacub, Saraswati Si Gadis dalam Sunyi by A.A. Navis, Warisan by Chairul Harun, and Bako by Darman Moenir. The analysis of the novels is based on Lucien Goldmann's theory of genetic structuralism and its dialectical method, and is supported by Lotman's theory of narrative text regarding the elaboration of the structure of literary works as a conceptual construction centred on the idea of binary opposition. The findings of this article show that Minangkabau tabedo is a complex of ideas and worldviews of the author that are homologously expressed in the structure of the novel and the social structure of post-PRRI Minangkabau society. The representation of Minangkabau tebedo is seen through the changes taking place in Minangkabau society, such as the shift in Minangkabau family identity from matrilineal to patrilineal; changes in the behaviour of overseas Minangkabau who are uprooted from the roots of tradition, morality and religion; the diminishing role of traditional elites such as the mamak and alim ulama; the increasingly dominant role of fathers, eliminating the role of the mamak; the fading of communal culture and the development of individual lifestyles.

Abstract

This article is about the phenomenon of me(pe)rantau tragic among Minangkabau people in four novels by Minangkabau authors after Pemerintahan Revolusioner Republik Indonesia (PRRI), namely Panggilan Tanah Kelahiran by Dt. B. Nurdin Jacub, Saraswati Si Gadis dalam Sunyi by A.A. Navis, Warisan by Chairul Harun, and Bako by Darman Moenir. These famous novels after PRRI are sociological and philosophical based novels that express the author's worldview at the maximum level of coherence. In the analysis of these four novels, Lotman's narrative text theory is applied to elaborate the structure of literary works as a conceptual construction centered on the idea of binary opposition. Lotman's elaboration reinforces Eco's view that certain cultural units become meaningful when placed within another cultural unit that is opposed to them. Based on the analysis, the novels that are the subject of this study place the overseas world (dunia rantau) as a source of problems for the Minangkabau people. The characters who encounter the overseas world (dunia rantau) are positioned as "the disobedient" when they face the village world (dunia kampung) as an oppositional relationship.

Abstract

This study investigates the utilization of solid waste from slag and aluminum cans as sources of valuable raw materials, along with bittern waste for magnesium oxide (MgO)cons production. Slag, a byproduct of industrial combustion in the palm oil industry, and aluminum cans, generated from human consumption in urban areas, were both subjected to leaching processes to recover silica (SiO₂) and alumina (Al₂O₃), respectively. The leaching of slag using 4 M NaOH yielded 85.68% SiO₂, while aluminum cans treated with 4 M HCl produced 85.90% Al₂O₃. Additionally, the study extracted MgO from bittern waste via precipitation, resulting in 76.98% MgO. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis was employed used to determine the composition of the slag, aluminum can waste, and bittern, while X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the crystallinity of the recovered materials. The integration of recycled materials into the production of cordierite ceramics represents an innovative approach to waste valorization, offering potential for the development of advanced materials from industrial and urban waste. This research highlights the potential for valorizing industrial and municipal solid wastes through chemical processes, contributing to sustainable resource recovery and environmental conservation.

Abstract

The construction and development of Karang Sari Village to become a tourist village is very important. Seeing that so far this potential has not been exploited and organized and it is hoped that it will be able to improve the economic and welfare of the community. Karang Sari Village has a stretch of beach of approximately 17 km, from Muara Cimari beach to Cicalengka beach. Karang Sari Village has a stretch of beach of approximately 17 km, from Muara Cimari beach to Cicalengka beach. Indonesian tourism development uses the concept of cultural tourism formulated in Tourism Law Number 09 of 1990. The problem is that villages are still in the underdeveloped category, low levels of community welfare and low levels of facilities and infrastructure as well as knowledge in managing village potential. The aim is to increase the quality and quantity of tourism destinations to create a tourism industry that is able to drive the local and national economy, develop tourism institutions and tourism governance that are able to synergize tourism destination development, tourism marketing and the tourism industry in a professional, effective and efficient manner. Using the perspective of communication science theory from Professor John Marston (in Nova, 2009:32) regarding planning strategies, namely RACE (Reasearch, Action, Controling, Evaluation). Community service activities are analyzed using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat). In conclusion, building tourism potential in underdeveloped villages must review all aspects. Looking at the potential of natural resources and human resources, but looking at the geographical conditions and geopolitical conditions in the Karangsari Village area. Suggestions, Village Head and Karangsari Village Apparatus, persuasive efforts for people who still do not understand and take a counter stance towards the idea of building a tourist village

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in Dukuh Santan focuses on optimizing local potential to support sustainable economic independence. One of the main issues faced by the community is the underutilization of vacant land and the lack of innovation in developing the agricultural and tourism sectors. Therefore, this program aims to empower the community through the application of sustainable agricultural technology using demonstration plots (demplots) and digital marketing strategies to enhance the village’s economic and tourism appeal. The methods used include observation, socialization, training, and direct assistance to the community, particularly members of the Women's Farmer Group (KWT). The activities carried out include the establishment of agricultural demplots using a permaculture approach and training on eco-friendly farming techniques. The program results indicate an increased understanding of sustainable farming techniques among the community, the development of a more productive organic farming system, and improved skills among local entrepreneurs in marketing their products. Additionally, the integration of the agricultural sector with Dukuh Santan’s tourism potential has begun to develop through innovations in agricultural products with higher market value. The success of this program is expected to serve as a model for other villages in optimizing their resources to achieve economic independence and strengthen the local tourism sector

Abstract

Abstract

This paper explores the representation of cross-border and cross-ideological narratives in literary and dramatic works from the Dutch East Indies era. It focuses on five categories: Dutch, Indies, Peranakan-Tionghoa, Balai Pustaka, and non-Balai Pustaka Bumiputera literature. The study aims to: (1) classify these works based on racial and ideological markers; (2) analyze how identity and ideology are represented within each category; and (3) examine how counter-knowledge and resistance to colonial discourse are articulated in the texts. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the research involves close reading of texts to identify identity representations, gathering contextual data on authorship, and analyzing ideological patterns across categories. Findings reveal that Dutch and Indies authors often construct Native characters through a Western, objectifying lens, reinforcing colonial hierarchies. In contrast, non-Balai Pustaka Bumiputera writers frequently resist these narratives, offering critical perspectives on racism and colonial subjectivity through localized, spiritual, and humanistic views. The study further identifies how Western literary discourse relegates Native works to the “Batjaan Liar” (wild reading) category, while Eastern narratives challenge imperialist classifications. While authorial ideology often aligns with racial or institutional affiliation, some texts reveal ideological divergence. Ultimately, this research contributes a decolonial perspective that critiques Western modernity’s portrayal of the Native, going beyond conventional postcolonial approaches that focus primarily on colonial impact. It emphasizes the importance of Indigenous resistance and epistemology in shaping literary discourse during the colonial period.

Abstract

This article discusses historical construction of Baron Sakendher manuscripts in the collection of Yogayakarta Sonobudoyo Museum. Serat Baron Sakendher (SBS) was written in the main frame of Babad Tanah Jawi. Various stories frame SBS distinctively based on each manuscript. This study proposes to explain the position of SBS in the Javanese authority domain under the Colonial—which was increasingly entrenched. The study used historical philological research methods, namely by selecting manuscripts and tracing their historical backgrounds to discuss the contents. The results point out that there are six manuscripts containing SBS stories. Four are included in the big frame of Babad Tanah Jawi, one is in Babad Selahardi, and one is in Pakem Ringgit. None of the six was written as a single stand; they were always integrated with the monumental Javanese genealogical story and believed by the Javanese people. As a means of cultural arrangement, stories in SBS are incorporated in the midst of Javanese legendary figures or rulers with different secondary stories. Conquest and cultural approach through genealogy pedigree are crucial in babad (chronicle stories).

Abstract

The most maritime security threats are identified in the Sulu Sea and Sulawesi Sea, especially in the border waters between the Southern Philippines (Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Sulu), Sabah (East Malaysia), and North Kalimantan and North Sulawesi (Indonesia). This region is known to be vulnerable due to the difficulty of open sea surveillance, dense trade routes, and the presence of armed groups such as Abu Sayyaf who exploit security gaps. This study aims to analyze the Scenario Forecasting on the Sustainability of TCA Indomalphi in Suppressing Armed Robbery at Sea (2025–2045). The approach used combines quantitative ARIMA and ARIMA-ML models, as well as five main indices from the ISC ReCAAP data, namely the Incident Frequency Index (IFI), Violence Severity Index (VSI), Crew Impact Index (CII), Coverage Index (CI), and Resilience Index (RI). This analysis is strengthened by resilience theory, Regional Security Complex Theory (RSCT), and international regime theory to develop three TCA sustainability scenarios. The results of the study indicate three main scenarios. The baseline scenario predicts a decline in CKTS from 53.4 (2030) to 25.0 (2045), indicating stable effectiveness with moderate technological support. The optimistic scenario, Full Digital Maritime Integration, depicts the implementation of AI technology, 24/7 drones, community participation, and budget increases, resulting in a CKTS of 18.5 in 2045. Meanwhile, the pessimistic scenario due to South China Sea conflicts and budget cuts shows the CKTS soaring to 61.2, approaching critical conditions. These results underscore the importance of technology integration, policy continuity, and institutional resilience in maintaining regional maritime security.
