Abstract

Learning outcomes, especially cognitive abilities of students are generally still low with a variety of learning models in schools that are still limited. Various models and learning approaches have been tried but the results have not been satisfactory. This study aims to obtain information about the effect of applying the Advance Organizer learning model to the learning outcomes of high school students. This type of research is quasi-experimental with pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were high school class X students with a sample of 2 classes. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. Research instruments in the form of cognitive test questions refer to the revised Bloom's taxonomy. T test results at a significance level of 0.05, indicating that t = 2.56 is greater than t table = 1.99 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there are significant differences in cognitive abilities in the experimental class and the control class. Based on the analysis of differences in the average score of learning outcomes shows that the application of the Advance Organizer learning model has a significant effect on student learning outcomes at each indicator and at every cognitive level.

Abstract

Background: The lack of interpersonal communication skills of students will affect the learning process (teachers and students) looking for ways to take advantage of other learning models so that the learning process continues to run interestingly and remain meaningful. This study aims to develop a project-based learning model on human digestive system material in class VIII students at MTs Raudhatul Ikhwan. Methods: The development of this Project based learning model follows nurohman's development model. The stages of the model are the identification of potentials and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, product revision, usage trial, product revision. Results: Data from this study were obtained from validation by two experts, which were then tested on 38 class VIII learners and teachers at MTs Raudhatul Ikhwan. In cycle 1, the final data was obtained by around 71% and the second cycle increased to 78% so that the project-based learning so that the project based learning learning model deserves to be used as a learning medium with good categories. Abstract

Background: Activities that occur in the classroom during the Biology learning process are generally still teacher centered which places the teacher as the only source of information and only as a transfer of knowledge from teacher to student. This study aims to analyze the relationship between concept mastery and problem solving ability through problem-based learning model in Biology subject. The subjects in this study were students of SMA Negeri 4 Kota Sukabumi class XI IPA 3 with a total of 30 people in the even semester of the 2012/2013 academic year. Method: This study used correlational method with bivariate correlation research design. To capture aspects of students' concept mastery and problem-solving skills, instruments were used in the form of concept mastery tests and problem-solving skills tests in the form of multiple choice and student response questionnaires to the problem-based learning model to support the research results. Results: It can be seen from the results of testing the correlation Rhitung of 0.687> Rtabel (0.05) of 0.361 and the results of testing the significance of the correlation index Thitung of 7.217> Ttabel (0.05) of 2.048 with a coefficient of determination of 46.24. Conclusion: There is a positive and significant relationship between concept mastery and problem solving ability through problem-based learning model. Abstract

Background: This study aims to develop a guided inquiry-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) oriented towards enhancing creativity, to connect the concept of air pollution with real-world phenomena. It also seeks to describe the attractiveness, ease of use, usefulness, and effectiveness of the LKPD in the learning process Methods: The research employed is a development method, commonly referred to as Research and Development (R&D). The study involved material experts and media experts to validate the LKPD, as well as a science teacher and 35 seventh-grade students from SMP Islam Nurul Huda Cicantayan. The instruments used included student response questionnaires, as well as pretest and posttest questions. Results: The validation results from the material expert, which assessed content feasibility and accuracy, showed a score of 71% and were categorized as valid. Meanwhile, validation by the media expert resulted in a score of 66%, also categorized as valid, indicating that the product is suitable for use by students as it aids the learning process. The N-gain score obtained was 0.8, which falls in the high category (g ≥ 0.7), indicating that the LKPD is effective. Additionally, student response questionnaires showed a score of 76%, categorized as interesting/practical. The R&D study proved effective, as shown by the trial results where students became more active and better understood the concept, particularly in the topic of air pollution. Conclusion: Based on the results, the developed Student Worksheet (LKPD) is considered valid and effective for use in the learning process.
