Abstract

This study conducts a comprehensive examination of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, focusing on their role in the economy, challenges in innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation. With over 97% of the local labor force employed by MSMEs, their significance is undeniable. However, obstacles, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, include a financing gap, innovation difficulties, and limited resources hindering digitalization. The research, based on a sample of 250 MSMEs, utilizes Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to reveal the positive and significant impact of innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation on MSME entrepreneurship. Practical implications suggest prioritizing innovation, integrating sustainable practices, and recognizing the importance of digitalization for MSMEs' success, with broader implications for socio-economic and environmental goals.

Abstract

This study looks into how the entrepreneurial ecosystem, social capital, and entrepreneurial competence interact to influence how successful Indonesian business incubators are. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was the quantitative method used to examine the data collected from 275 entrepreneurs and incubator stakeholders. The evaluation of the measurement model demonstrated appropriate average variances extracted, strong loadings, and high composite reliabilities, all of which supported the validity and reliability of the selected indicators. Each latent variable's uniqueness was confirmed by discriminant validity analysis. Significant positive correlations between social capital, entrepreneurial competence, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and the efficacy of business incubators were found by the structural model estimation. The suggested theoretical framework was validated by hypothesis testing, which showed that these elements interact to affect the performance of business incubators in Indonesia. A good fit was shown by the model fit assessment, supporting the structural model's validity. The results enhance our understanding from a theoretical and practical standpoint, offering policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders a comprehensive framework to maximize the conditions necessary for the success of business incubators.

Abstract

The halal industry in Indonesia faces significant challenges in establishing a sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) in an increasingly competitive global market. One key factor that could support this advantage is the adoption of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices and the promotion of green knowledge sharing. This study investigates the relationship between GHRM practices, green knowledge sharing, and the achievement of SCA within the Indonesian halal industry. Employing a systematic literature review (SLR) methodology, the study utilizes the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory to analyze relevant literature. The search was conducted using Scopus and Google Scholar databases, focusing on GHRM, knowledge sharing, and competitive advantage. The findings indicate that GHRM positively influences SCA, with green knowledge sharing acting as both a mediator and moderator that strengthens this effect. Additionally, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), driven by green leadership, further contributes to the achievement of SCA. This research offers theoretical insights into the application of RBV within the halal industry and underscores the significance of green knowledge sharing and OCB in fostering sustainable competitive advantage. The practical implication of these findings highlights the importance of implementing effective GHRM practices and cultivating a green knowledge-sharing culture to enhance sustainability in the halal sector. The study's limitation lies in its reliance on existing literature, without empirical analysis in the field.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Islamic Human Capital Management (IHCM) in enhancing organizational agility and improving employee well-being. The central problem addressed is the need for organizations to adopt strategies that foster a highly skilled, ethically grounded, and adaptable workforce to remain competitive in a dynamic business environment. The objectives of the study include examining the theoretical foundations of IHCM, analyzing its impact on organizational performance, and providing practical recommendations for its implementation. The research employs a qualitative conceptual approach, rooted in literature review and analysis of existing studies on IHCM, organizational agility, and employee well-being. The analysis focuses on the contributions of IHCM in creating a workforce that is not only skilled but also engaged and ethically responsible, enabling organizations to respond effectively to external changes. The study synthesizes findings from over 30 scholarly articles, offering insights into the integration of IHCM strategies such as ethical leadership, employee empowerment, continuous learning, and work-life balance. Results suggest that adopting IHCM practices leads to improved employee satisfaction, innovation, and organizational adaptability. Organizations that invest in employee development and promote ethical leadership are more likely to foster a positive work environment, enhancing both performance and retention. However, the study's limitations include its focus on Islamic organizations, which may not be applicable to non-Islamic contexts. Future research could include comparative studies across various sectors to assess the generalizability of IHCM strategies.

Abstract

Cultural diplomacy is one of the increasingly important forms of soft power in international relations. Indonesia utilizes traditional arts, one of which is angklung, as an instrument of cultural diplomacy to strengthen the country’s positive image in the eyes of the world. This study discusses how angklung is used as a tool of cultural diplomacy in the United States, the promotional strategies undertaken, as well as its impact on the increase in American tourists to Indonesia. The research method used was qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, documentation, and literature study. The study results show that angklung performances successfully improve cross-cultural understanding, build a positive image of Indonesia, and become a cultural tourism attraction. However, there are challenges in the form of limitations of the American public’s promotion and understanding of angklung. This study affirms the importance of sustainable strategies for strengthening cultural diplomacy through traditional performing arts..

Abstract

Regional development disparities between metropolitan and rural areas in West Java are intensifying, particularly impacting Southern West Java (SWJ) despite its significant tourism potential, meanwhile, the Western (WWJ), Central (CWJ), and Northern (NWJ) regions of West Java have experienced rapid progress. This study aims to evaluate regional planning policies for integrated tourism development through the "GURILAPS" (Gunung, Rimba, Laut, Pantai, Seni & Budaya) Framework — Mountains, Jungle, Ocean, Water, Beaches, Arts & Culture. The methodology employs a QUAN → qual design, analyzing built-up area expansion data (2010-2024) from BPS through ANOVA and trend analysis, followed by thematic analysis of stakeholder sources and 28 policy documents. Quantitative findings reveal significant disparities: WWJ, CWJ, and NWJ experienced 21.4% built-up area growth (2010-2024), while SWJ achieved only 11.8% (F(5,21) = 24.67, p < 0.001, η² = 0.855). Qualitative findings identified four themes: infrastructure connectivity gaps, institutional coordination limitations, community tourism readiness challenges, and policy implementation gaps. The validated "GURILAPS" Framework (Content Validity Index: 0.89, Inter-rater Agreement: Kappa = 0.82) provides a systematic approach to leveraging SWJ's natural and cultural assets while addressing infrastructure gaps and promoting rural economic growth. This research contributes theoretically through the validated "GURILAPS" Framework and methodologically by applying sequential explanatory mixed methods in tourism policy evaluation. Theoretical implications include the GURILAPS Framework, mixed methods innovation, and regional development theory advancement. Practical implications provide actionable evidence for policymakers, adaptable to other regions with similar characteristics, and applicable to developing countries facing comparable challenges.

Abstract

Indonesia halal industry faces challenges in adopting sustainable practices within the green economy framework, primarily due to limited human resource readiness. This study examines the role of Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) in strengthening the global competitiveness of halal SMEs engaged in international exports. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis involving three business owners from the Halal Product Producers Association of Indonesia, representing western, central, and eastern regions. Findings indicate that Green HRM facilitates the development of green skills and sustainability-focused leadership, addressing gaps in awareness and capability among halal SMEs. Practical implications include integrating Green HRM into HR policies, emphasizing sustainability training and global green certifications. Additionally, the use of digital technology is highlighted as a means to expand access to training and accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices. The study's limitations include its focus on export-oriented halal SMEs, which may not fully represent the entire sector. Future research could explore the application of Green HRM in domestically focused halal businesses and assess long-term impacts on organizational performance. These findings underscore the need for global collaboration, government support, and human resource capacity-building to ensure the successful implementation of Green HRM in Indonesia’s halal industry
