Abstract

Exercise-induced hearth muscle adaptation is important for physiological process after exercise. This adaptation will ensure basal mitochondrial homeostasis and as a part of the mitochondria quality control. This process is reflected by equal level of biogenesis stimulation and as well as the selective degradation of old and undesirable mitochondria through fusion or fission cycle and Mitophagy. There is limited information about genetic regulation stimulated by training in cardiomyocytes. We believe there is a specific myokines or protein release in the serum and initiate cardiac muscle adaptation process. In the present study, twelve male wistar rats were appointed to two group: sedentary control and aerobic-intensity (AE, 15m/minute). Rats were trained for running with specific protocol as follows: 30 minutes/day with a 5 times/week interval for 8 weeks. On the last day, serum form control and exercise groups were taken via retro-orbital sinus. Then, 3.105  H9C2 cells (Rat cardiomyocytes cell line)  were cultured and incubated by this serum for 24 hours. After treatment, cell were extracted using trisure for RNA purification and continue with reverse transcriptase PCR. Our data showed that expression of the Pgc-1α, Mfn1, Mfn2, Opa1, Drp1, Pink, and Parkin genes were altered and modulated. Specifically, Mfn1, Mfn2, and Opa1 gene expression levels significantly increased. Interestingly, we did not find significant modulation for  Pgc-1α, Drp1, Pink, and Parkin. Taken together, serum of exercise rats might be contained with myokines or specific protein which was released during training and it altered mitochondrial genes expression in cardiomyocytes culture cell. We believe that myokines release in the serum had a contribution in cardiacmyocyte adaptation.

Abstract

The prevention of liver disease could be conducted through preventive strategies, such as antioxidants and exercise. Moringa leaf extract has substances that could act as antioxidant, while exercise is also known protecting the liver from disease by changing hepatic metabolism and autophagy. This study aimed to investigate the effect of moringa leaf extract and moderate intensity exercise on histopathological appearance and autophagy gene expression of wistar rat liver. The method used in this study was animal experiment using 24 male wistar rats divided into 4 groups, including control group, moringa group, exercise group, and moringa + exercise group. Moringa leaf extract was given in low dose (5.7 mg/kgW) per oral, 5 times a week, for 4 weeks. Meanwhile, the 20 m/minute treadmill exercise was given for 30 minutes per day, 5 times a week, for 4 weeks. Results showed a significant change on histopathological scoring in exercise group (p=0.011) compared to control group. Increased autophagy gene expression was found in moringa + exercise group compared to control group (LC3 0.90 fold; p62 0.87 fold). In summary, this study presented that moderate intensity exercise induced changes on histopathological appearance of wistar rat liver that might be associated with physiological inflammation. Moringa, with its antioxidant properties, combined with increased autophagy might improve histopathological changes in moringa + exercise group.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is for knowing the effect of the stretching method and gender on flexibility. Experimental research method with 2x2 Factorial Design design, which consists of two groups, because the research uses two independent variables with two moderator variables. Frankel et. Al (2013:277). Based on the results of data processing and analysis described in the previous chapter, it is known that the PNF stretching method is more effective than the passive stretching method in increasing muscle and joint flexibility for men and women with a difference in the average stretch score of 1.52. Then on the results of the analysis of differences in muscle and joint flexibility between men and women, it is known that there is a significant difference in the average score of muscle and joint flexibility between men and women where the average score for men is 1.96. In both men and women, there was a significant increase in muscle and joint flexibility between before and after stretching using either the passive method or the PNF method. So the authors can conclude that the results of the study there are significant differences in the average score of muscle and joint flexibility between the PNF method and the passive method. This shows that the PNF stretching method is more effective than the passive stretching method in increasing muscle and joint flexibility in men and women. Utilization of the stretching method can provide real experience for sports players to increase flexibility by using the stretching method, because flexibility is very influential in increasing effectiveness in exercising.

Abstract

This research aims to determine how the effect of combination of Moringa Leaf consumption with aerobic exercise against VO2Max and Lactate Threshold as ergogenic aids. 16 Taekwondo athletes are participated in this research. Participants are divided into 2 groups: the experimental group, which has been given the treatment of Moringa leaves and aerobic exercise, and the control group, which has been given an aerobic treatment only. The method used is experimental method with randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design. This research took 6 weeks length with aerobic exercise 4 days a week. Moringa leaves consumed at a dose of 2000mg during treatment. The data collection used a Balke Test to measure the VO2max and modified Conconi Test to measure the lactate threshold. The results of this research showed a significant increase in mean before and after treatment in both variables from each group (p <0.05). However, the value of the increase in both variables between the two groups did not show significant difference (p> 0.05). These results, it can be concluded that there is a significant increase of VO2Max and Lactate Threshold between pre test and post test in each group, but there is no significant difference from deviation of increase of between control and experiment group although the experimental group increase is higher than the control group.

Abstract

Two kinds of carbohydrates that are used with the body as energy, is blood glucose and muscular glycogen. Savings glycogen in muscular is one of the factors that is affecting muscular endurance when physical exercise. The aim of this study is to find out the significant influence of consuming palm sugar to muscular endurance before physical exercise. The method that is used in this study is to experiment with design pretest-posttest control group design. Total of sample of this study is 18 trained mans that is divided into three groups. The first experiment group is given palm sugar that is dissolved in water, the second experiment group is given sugar that is dissolved in water, and the control group is given mineral water. The instrument of this study is used push up test, sit up test, and squat jump test to measures the upper muscular endurance, middle, and bottom. All of the samples have done pretest and posttest in different day. When posttest, all of the sample is consumed beverage based on the treatment 30 minutes before do the posttest. Data analysis by Paired Sample t-test and continued by One Way ANOVA to see the influence and comparison between groups. The result of this study has showed that there is a significant difference, the raising of muscular endurance is proved by the score (sig) 0.00>0.05, which the highest increasing is the palm sugar group. Therefore, it could be concluded that there is a significant influence of consuming palm sugar to muscular endurance before physical exercise.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the comparison and the effect of coconut water and isotonic drink on hydration status, to reduce anaerobic muscle fatigue and to anticipating blood sugar level increase of basketball athletes. This is quasy experimental research and use a pretest and posttest control group desain. The subject of this research are 18 basketball athletes from UPI's basketball student activity unit with ages 19-21 years old and divided randomly into 3 groups which is 2 treatment groups and control group. The subject givenintervention coconut water, 250 ml of isotonic drink and placebo, it given 30 minutes before the test. The hydration status on basketball athletes is seen from the color of urine and the muscle fatigue measured by using RAST (Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test) by calculating the value of AF (Anaerobic Fatigue) and blood sugar levels is measured using Autocheck measuring instrument. The result of this research identified that mostly basketball athletes are get dehydration, There is a significant effect on the status of fatigue index according to the type of coconut water and isotonic drink, and also there is a significant difference in the Glicemia level of basketball athletes according to the type of drink.

Abstract

Generally, the aim of this research to know the comparison of caffeine drinks through the result of reaction time after consumption coffee, green tea, and energy drink by the same amount of caffeine. The way to gather the data is using purposive sampling, the population that chosen by the researcher is 10 respondents’ college students of Ilmu Keolahragaan batch 2016. For data analysis, using SPSS 21 program for windows and Statistical calculation that used is One-Way ANOVA continues with Post Hoc Tukey. The average result from time reaction on Speed Anticipation Reaction is 1.263 (placebo), 1,257 (green tea), 1.271 (energy drink), and 1.358 (black coffee). For Body Reaction Time Test (visual) shows the average around 1.239 (placebo), 0.245 (green tea), 0.257 (green tea), and 0.244 (black coffee). While on Whole Body Reaction Time Test (auditory) shows the average0.239 (placebo), 0.239 (green tea), 0.274 (energy drink), and 0.263 (black coffee). The signification value from three-time reaction test are (Speed Anticipation Reaction Sig. 0.706 > 0.05, Whole Body Reaction (visual) Sig. 0.877 > 0.05, and Whole Body Reaction (auditory) Sig. 0.348 > 0.05) all of the result above 0.05. Hence, it can be concluded there is no significant difference through time reaction result after consumption kind of caffeine drinks with the same concentration.

Abstract

Landasan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara kerja model latihan ball throwing digital dengan visual light system dalam olahraga sepak bola. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah “one grups pretest post test design”. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah terciptanya alat ball throwing digital dengan visual light system pada olahraga sepak bola. Permainan sepak bola biasa dimainkan di luar ruangan dan prototype ini dirancang untuk mekanisme pelemparan bola yang dapat digunakan untuk melatih penjaga gawang. Dalam proyek ini, alat ball throwing digital dengan visual light system pada sepak bola dibuat untuk meningkatkan reaksi dan antisipasi seorang penjaga gawang. Alat ball throwing digital dengan visual light system ini berfungsi untuk membantu proses latihan dan variasi latihan untuk penjaga gawang dalam olahraga sepak bola. Dilatih secara berulang-ulang sehingga dengan dibantunya alat tersebut diharapkan dapat meningkatkan rekasi, antisipasi, koordinasi dan konsentrasi untuk penjaga gawang.Kata kunci: Ball throwing digital, visual light system, soccer

Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan Life Kinetic terhadap ketepatan pukulan forehand drive pada cabang olahraga tenis meja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain The Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini merupakan anggota aktif unit kegiatan mahasiswa tenis meja Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 10 orang kelompok eksperimen dan 10 orang kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah instrumen kemampuan ketepatan forehand drive tenis meja untuk mengukur kemampuan ketepatan forehand drive. Instrument ini memiliki tingkat validitas tinggi 1 dan reliabilitas 0.96 dan reliabilitas 0.95. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis Paired T-Test dan Independent T-Test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa latihan dengan metode life Kinetic memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan ketepatan pukulan pada anggota unit kegiatan mahasiswa tenis meja Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Maka dari itu, penulis merekomendasikan untuk menerapkan latihan life Kinetic dalam proses pelatihan tenis meja karena terbukti memberikan pengaruh bagi anggota unit kegiatan mahasiswa tenis meja Universitas Pendidikan IndonesiaThe effect of life kinetic training on table tennis forehand strike accuracyAbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of Life Kinetic training on the accuracy of forehand drive strokes in table tennis. The research method used is an experimental method with The Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample in this study is an active member of the table tennis student activity unit at the University of Education Indonesia with a total sample of 10 people in the experimental group and 10 in the control group. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study is the Table Tennis Forehand Drive Accuracy Ability Instrument to measure the forehand drive accuracy ability. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, and the Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test hypothesis testing. The treatment in this study was conducted 10 times by providing the Life Kinetic exercise method for the experimental group. The results of this study indicate that the exercise with the Life Kinetic method has a significant effect on increasing the accuracy of strokes for members of the table tennis student activity unit at the University of Indonesia Education. Therefore, the author recommends applying Life Kinetic exercises in the table tennis training process because it has been proven to have an effect on members of the table tennis student activity unit at the University of Indonesia Education

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh olahraga di ruang terbuka dengan paparan polusi dan olahraga di ruang terbuka hijau terhadap inflamasi paru. Metode true eksperiment dan desain The Randomized Posttest-Only Control Group Design digunakan dalam penelitian ini. 24 ekor tikus putih galur wistar jantan dewasa dengan berat 200-250 gram berusia 8-9 minggu dibagi secara acak menjadi empat kelompok, NE (Non Exercise) sebagai kontrol, NE+Pol (Non Exercise + polusi Particulate Matter 2.5  75 ppm dan Carbon Monoxide Meter 100 ppm), Ex (Exercise 5 kali/minggu selama 4 minggu), Ex+Pol (Exercise + polusi). Penanda inflamasi Tumor Necrosis Factor-αlpha (TNF-α) dianalisis menggunakan Western Blotting. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan antar kelompok, analisis ANOVA satu jalur dan uji Post Hoc digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen olahraga dengan paparan polusi memiliki kadar TNF-α yang signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (Ex+Pol: 1,63 AU; NE: 0,54 AU; p=0,000). Tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen olahraga di ruang terbuka hijau dengan kelompok kontrol (Ex: 0,80 AU; NE: 0,54 AU; p=0,357). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh olahraga di ruang terbuka dengan paparan polusi terhadap inflamasi paru. Dan hasil lain menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh olahraga di ruang terbuka hijau terhadap inflamasi paru.The effect of exercise in open spaces and green open spaces on lung inflammationAbstractThe purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of exercise in open spaces with exposure to pollution and exercise in green open spaces on lung inflammation. There was no significant difference between the exercise in green open space and the control group (Ex: 0,80 AU; NE: 0,54 AU; p=0,357). It can be concluded that there is an effect of exercise in an open space with exposure to pollution on lung inflammation. And other results show  there is no effect of exercise in green open spaces on lung inflammation.
