Abstract

Introduction: Among older adults, hypertension represents a significant public health concern that is often linked to excess body weight. Obesity, a modifiable risk factor, is known to elevate blood pressure and contribute to related complications in later years. This makes it a critical measure for assessment within elderly communities. Methods: Employing a quantitative, descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional method, this research was carried out at an Elderly Integrated Health Post in Susukan Rejo Village, Pasuruan. A total of 70 pre-elderly and elderly participants were included via total sampling. Obesity was evaluated using body mass index and waist circumference, and blood pressure was measured following standard protocols. Data were examined through univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test to explore the relationship between obesity and hypertension. Results: The study revealed a high prevalence of obesity according to both body mass index and waist circumference. A majority of respondents were diagnosed with hypertension, most commonly at stage 1. Bivariate analysis indicated a statistically significant association between obesity and hypertension, with greater obesity linked to more advanced stages of hypertension. Conclusions: Obesity was found to be a strong predictor of hypertension in the studied elderly population. These findings highlight that weight management through lifestyle changes, consistent health monitoring, and community-led programs could be vital for lowering hypertension risk and enhancing health outcomes among older adults.

Abstract

Background: Effective and continuity discharge planning is vital in care continuity and integrated care. Continuity discharge planning can reduce avoidable hospital readmission, and fulfillment improves the quality of care. Prevention efforts to prevent the re-attacks and readmission because of this CVA attack should be started early before the patients return home from the hospital. Purpose: This research aims to review the effect of discharge planning on the readiness of returning home in CVA patients. Methods: We included english materials published between Science Direct, PubMed, Research Gate, and Google Scholar that were used to find studies on discharge planning, readiness, and transitional care between 2016- 2021. Results: Discharge planning is carried out in three-stage, inpatient admission and intra-hospital when the patient is about to be discharged from the hospital. In the first stage, the nurse explains patient admission, regulation, and management when the patient enters the hospital. The second stage is when the patient is hospitalized, which consists of nurses providing education about medication, environment, health, outpatient referral, and diet. While the last stage is when the patient will be discharged, the nurse explains the control, medication, and nutrition schedule at home. Post-stroke rehabilitation and recovery is a chronic process. Conclusion: Review of discharge planning can be influenced by several factors: individual characteristics (clients' potential with special needs early, motivation), family factors (social resources, home environment), and health care system (teaching home care skills with community/ hospital professionals. These factors will affect the implementation of discharge planning in health services which is hospital accreditation.

Abstract

Introduction: The ability of mothers to supply adequate nutrition is closely linked to the nutritional support given to children aged 6-24 months who experience stunted growth. A mother's responsibilities can be fulfilled through her skills, confidence, and ability to perform tasks and ensure proper nutrition for children aged 6-24 months who are experiencing stunted growth. The objective of this research was to explore the connection between how mothers feed their children and the nutritional health of kids aged 6 to 24 months. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional correlation analysis utilizing height-for-age z-score tables from the World Health Organization alongside the Infant and Young Children Feeding Practice and Structure Questionnaire. A total of 76 participants were chosen through a cluster random sampling method from five district health centers in Malang Regency. The data were analyzed using the Spearman rank test. Results: The findings indicated a significant association between the mother's capability to meet the nutritional needs of children aged 6-24 months who are stunted (including breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, complementary feeding, responsive feeding, and adherence to stunted therapy) and their nutritional status (measured by upper arm circumference and minimal weight gain), with a p-value of less than 0.05. Additionally, the mothers were responsible for implementing feeding practices. Conclusion: Maternal feeding practices are linked to the nutritional status of children aged 6–24 months who are stunted. This connection is evident in aspects such as breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, complementary feeding, responsive feeding, and adherence to stunting therapy, which relate to nutritional indicators like minimal weight gain and upper arm circumference. However, other indicators did not show a correlation between breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, responsive feeding, and adherence to the nutritional status of stunted children, specifically regarding upper arm circumference. Keywords: feeding practice; maternal; nutritional status; stunted

Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) is a musculoskeletal complaint frequently experienced by farmers due to heavy physical work activities, unergonomic work postures, and long work durations. Persistent pain can impact quality of life, encompassing physical, psychological, social, and environmental aspects. Purpose: To analyze the relationship between pain intensity and quality of life in farmers experiencing Low Back Pain. Method: A quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach was conducted in December 2025 in Putat Lor Village, Malang. The sampling technique employed simple random sampling, with a sample size of 40 respondents. The independent variable in this study was the intensity of nyelr, while the dependent variable was quality of life. Data analysis was performed using univariate analysis in the form of frequency distributions and bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank test. Results: The results of the study showed a significant relationship between pain intensity and quality of life in farmers experiencing Low Back Pain complaints, as evidenced by a p value of <0.001. The r value = -0.638, indicating a strong and inverse relationship, meaning that the higher the pain intensity, the lower the farmer's quality of life. Conclusion: Pain intensity is significantly associated with quality of life in farmers experiencing Low Back Pain. Comprehensive pain prevention and management efforts need to be improveld to support improvelmelnts in farmelrs' quality of lifel.   Keywords: Farmers; Low Back Pain; Pain Intensity; Quality Of Life.   Pendahuluan: Low back pain (LBP) melrupakan kelluhan muskuloskelleltal yang selring dialami olelh peltani akibat aktivitas kelrja fisik yang belrat, postur kelrja tidak elrgonomis, selrta durasi kelrja yang panjang.
