Abstract

In this era of extraordinary information technology, data security is a priority, especially the process of admitting new students (PMB) to tertiary institutions. This process involves collecting sensitive personal data from thousands of prospective students each year. To protect this data, this research applies 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Secure Hash Algorithm 256 (SHA-256), and Base64 encryption methods. AES-256-CBC is known to be effective in maintaining data security with a high level of security. SHA-256 enhances security further by generating a unique hash that verifies data integrity. Meanwhile, Base64 converts binary data into a more manageable text format. This research also includes testing encryption and verification speed using the Laravel framework. The application of this method is expected to increase trust and meet strict data security standards in the PMB information system, guarantee comprehensive data protection and improve system integrity.

Abstract

Designing an application user interface design is an important part of creating an attractive application. However, there are several problems such as lack of attention to detail, failure to identify and solve customer problems, and poor planning or organization. The design thinking method performs stages ranging from empathize, define, ideate, and prototype, to usability testing to reduce these problems. At the empathize stage, data is obtained through interviews with MUAs and online questionnaires that have been filled out by respondents. At the define stage, a profile picture of each respondent along with their problems and goals was created. At the idea stage, feature mapping, information architecture, low fidelity wireframe, medium fidelity wireframe, and user flow are made so that it can facilitate users in operating the tasks designed in the application. The prototype stage is to create a flowchart design for each case so that users can find out how the application can run properly. The results of usability and user satisfaction are measured using the System Usability Scale (SUS). The SUS average value of 85.2 is obtained, which means that the value of the UI design results is included in category B with an "Excellent" status.

Abstract

"Gerdu Kaffe" still relies on manual methods for ordering and data management, despite the fact that cafes serve as social interaction spaces. This system encounters several issues, such as menu lists getting damaged or lost, difficulties in menu updates, long queues, and errors in manual ordering during peak hours. This research aims to develop a Menu Ordering Application with QR Code using the Laravel framework and employs Collaborative Filtering techniques. This application allows customers to order food and beverages through a smartphone using a QR Code Reader. Collaborative Filtering is used to analyze user preferences and behavior to discover relevant patterns. The research method used is qualitative, involving interviews and observations. Testing using blackbox testing methods resulted in the highest percentage of 86%, indicating that this web-based menu ordering system is effective in assisting the management process at Gerdu Kaffe Paiton.

Abstract

Inventory management and consumable materials in educational institutions, particularly at the Faculty of Health at Nurul Jadid University, face significant challenges. Current manual recording and reporting methods are prone to errors, leading to operational inefficiencies and financial risks, especially given the high cost of medical equipment. In addition, unrecorded inventory data can be lost, and consumable materials can either run out prematurely or accumulate unused. Lack of transparency and accuracy in tracking further complicated planning and decision-making. QR Code technology and the Django Python framework are widely used in other industries; however, their application in education, particularly healthcare, remains underexplored. Unlike previous studies that primarily focused on commercial applications, this study delves into the underexamined area of healthcare inventory management in educational settings, offering a scalable and efficient solution using modern technology. This study addresses these empirical and research gaps by developing a QR Code-based inventory system using Django Python to manage consumable materials at the Faculty of Health. The proposed system enhances efficiency, accuracy, and transparency by providing real-time data for better decision-making. The evaluation will focus on reliability, user-friendliness, ease of access, response time, and user satisfaction. This research not only contributes to the literature on technology applications in education but also provides a practical model for other institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a web-based application system using the K-Means algorithm to cluster students in Al-Quran training at Pondok Pesantren Islamiyah Syafi’iyah Sumberanyar, Paiton, Probolinggo. The system is designed to improve efficiency and accuracy in determining training groups based on students' Quranic reading skills, including Tajwid, fluency, and memorization. By analyzing data from 824 students, this research successfully classifies them into three skill categories: "Ulya" (advanced), "Wustha" (intermediate), and "Ula" (beginner). This clustering process provides an objective guide for assigning students to appropriate training groups and supports the personalization of the learning process. Additionally, the implementation of web-based technology facilitates easier data management and greater accessibility for administrators. The results show that the K-Means algorithm significantly enhances the efficiency and accuracy of the training process compared to manual methods. These findings are not only relevant to this pesantren but also have the potential to be applied to other Islamic educational institutions to optimize training management.

Abstract

This research aims to explore ways to improve the reputation of education through mutual community relations, with a psychological approach as an analytical framework. The method used in this research is a qualitative study, which involves in-depth interviews with educational institution managers and community members, as well as content analysis of various community relations programs that have been implemented. The research results show that open and transparent communication, active involvement in social activities, and a deep understanding of community needs and aspirations can significantly improve the reputation of educational institutions. Additionally, this research found that psychological approaches, such as building trust and empathy, play an essential role in creating mutually beneficial relationships between academic institutions and society. The implications of this research emphasize the need to develop community relations strategies that are more integrated and responsive to social dynamics to strengthen educational institutions' positive image in the public's eyes.

Abstract

This study investigates the controversies surrounding using social media as an educational tool, focusing on its potential to enhance digital literacy and the risks associated with misinformation. As social media platforms increasingly influence educational practices, this study explores how these platforms can be leveraged to strengthen digital literacy skills among students while addressing the challenges posed by misinformation. The study aims to answer three main questions: How is social media used as an educational tool to enhance digital literacy? What factors contribute to the spread of misinformation in academic contexts? Moreover, what strategies can be implemented to mitigate misinformation's negative impacts while maximizing social media's educational benefits? The findings suggest that while social media has significant potential to enhance digital literacy, spreading misinformation remains a critical concern. By addressing these issues, this study offers valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and social media users better to navigate the complex relationship between social media and education, thereby fostering a more informed and savvy generation of digital learners.

Abstract

Desa Bulang, yang terletak di Kecamatan Gending, Kabupaten Probolinggo, dikenal sebagai salah satu pusat produksi bawang merah dengan potensi pertanian yang besar. Sebagian besar penduduknya bergantung pada budidaya bawang merah, berkat kondisi iklim dan kesuburan tanah yang mendukung. Namun, para petani di daerah ini sering menghadapi tantangan serius, seperti serangan hama ulat dan penyakit busuk daun, yang dapat mengakibatkan gagal panen dan kerugian ekonomi yang signifikan. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, diperlukan solusi berbasis teknologi yang dapat mendeteksi kondisi daun tanaman secara dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem klasifikasi otomatis menggunakan algoritma Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) dengan arsitektur VGG-16 untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi daun bawang merah dalam tiga kategori: daun sehat, daun yang terserang hama ulat, dan daun yang terkena penyakit busuk daun. Dataset yang digunakan terdiri dari 600 citra daun yang dikumpulkan langsung dari Desa Bulang dan telah melalui tahap pre--processing, termasuk pengubahan ukuran (Resize), augmentasi, dan normalisasi. Model ini dilatih dan diuji dengan membagi data menjadi bagian pelatihan, validasi, dan pengujian, serta dievaluasi menggunakan metrik akurasi, presisi, recall, dan F1-score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model mencapai akurasi sebesar 93% pada data pengujian, yang menunjukkan kinerja yang sangat baik dan efektif. Selain itu, model ini berhasil diintegrasikan ke dalam aplikasi web berbasis Streamlit, sehingga dapat digunakan langsung oleh petani untuk mendeteksi serangan hama dengan cepat dan praktis. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian dan memberikan kontribusi terhadap penerapan teknologi dalam sektor pertanian lokal.

Abstract

Hubungan komunikasi antara pihak masyarakat dengan para Ahlu Al-Qur’an yang mengisi suatu kegiatan sangat penting adanya. Akan tetapi masalah yang sering dihadapi pihak masyarakat dalam setiap menghadirkan para Ahlu Al-Qur’an adalah sedikitnya informasi keberadaan para Ahlu Al-Qur’an serta lemahnya komunikasi antara pihak masyarakat dan Ahlu Al-Qur’an itu sendiri. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang telah diuraikan sebelumnya maka diperlukan sebuah solusi dalam bentuk pembuatan aplikasi berbasis website dan android untuk bisa menjadi alat komunikasi antara pihak masyarakat dan Ahlu Al-Qur’an. Model yang digunakan untuk untuk membangun aplikasi ini adalah waterfall. Model waterfall memiliki beberapa tahapan yaitu System Engineering, Requirements, Design, Coding, Testing dan Maintenance. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem atau aplikasi yang mampu memberikan kemudahan dalam berkomunikasi antara pihak masyarakat dan Ahlu Al-Qur’an secara cepat dan akurat.

Abstract

General election or abbreviated as or we call PEMILU is an activity carried out by every organization, both governmental and private, with the aim of being able to elect a chairman or leader fairly (honestly and fairly). The conventional election process takes a long time and requires a lot of equipment and preparations, for example paper, polling places and still preparing ballot boxes and others. This is considered quite complicated, to overcome this it requires technological intervention in the form of e-Voting, with the aim of providing convenience in the pre, process and post-implementation of student council elections, so that it can be effective, efficient and paperless (without using paper as a voting place). There are also many benefits apart from the above, such as being able to know golput (do not choose) in the form of an excel print, to prevent the occurrence of double voting, there is also a session where feature, one voter once chooses. For admins, there is no need to enter voter data one by one, because there is an excel import feature, with a format that is already available, making it easier for administrators to input voter data. The research site at Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School was more specifically for the election of the chairman of the FKO (Osis Communication Forum). The method used is WaterFall, where the way it works is working on the initial stages until it's finished and after completing the next stage that will be done. With the e-Voting application, it will make it easier for you to carry out General Election activities in an honest, effective, efficient and paperless manner.
