Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors and impacts that cause conflicts between wildlife and communities in buffer zones in Kelimutu National Park, analyze community perceptions, and determine the types of wildlife that often cause disturbances. Conflicts between wildlife and humans are increasing because wild animals often damage agricultural land and cause economic losses. The research was conducted in six buffer zone villages through purposive sampling of 93 respondents. Data were collected through interviews and observations and then analyzed descriptively and using a Likert scale. The results showed that the factors causing conflict were triggered by the degree of wild animals' preference for certain types of plants and forest encroachment. The impact experienced by the community was economic losses due to animals damaging their agricultural crops. The types of animals include wild boars (Sus scrofa), long-tailed macaques (Macaca fasciularis), porcupines (Erinaceinae), large rats (Bandicota bengalensis), and civets (Paradoxurus hemaphroditus). The entire community has a positive perception of the existence of these animals for the balance of a sustainable ecosystem.

Abstract

Mahoni (Swietenia macropylla King.) adalah salah satu tanaman yang memiliki nilai komersial. Tanaman ini juga rentan terhadap serangan patogen (jamur) yang dapat merusak mahoni. Salah satu lokasi yang memiliki vegetasi mahoni dapat ditemukan di Kawasan Hutan Penelitian Bu’at So’e. Jamur termasuk dalam kelompok organisme eukaryotik heterotof yang dapat menyerang mahoni melalui berbagai celah, baik itu luka, lubang alami, atau bahkan permukaan yang sehat pada akhirnya menyebabkan kerusakan pada tanaman mahoni.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis jamur yang menyerang tanaman mahoni di Hutan Penelitian Bu’at So’e, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Juli sampai September 2024 dengan menerapkan metode kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Proses pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive sampling dan pengambilan sampel secara oportunistik. Hasil penelitian jamur yang menyerang tanaman mahoni ditemukan 4 jenis jamur. Pada batang terdapat 4 isolat jamur yaitu Aspergilus niger, Aspergilus fumigatus, Rhizophus arrhizus Fischer dan Aspergilus flavus, sedangkan pada tanah terdapat 3 isolat jamur yaitu Aspergilus niger, Aspergilus fumigatus, dan Aspergilus flavus.

Abstract

University campuses are built to carry out the learning process. Therefore, this area has dramatically developed and impacted on the environment and biodiversity. The Nusa Cendana University (Undana) campus area as a habitat for wild animals is included in the built and managed habitat categories. In human-dominated habitats in urban areas such as Undana, it is still possible for animal species to find habitats to find food, shelter, and water sources. This research aims to analyze herpetofauna diversity and update information on preliminary studies of herpetofauna at Nusa Cendana University so that it can be used as primary data for assessing time series. Data was collected using the Visual Encounter Survey combined with the time-constrained search method for three hours from 18.30 to 21.30 WITA at three habitat types (Agricultural, open-area, and built-area habitat). The observation period is divided into two categories: dry and rainy season. Twelve species from eight herpetofauna families, consisting of four amphibians and eight reptiles, were recorded in three habitat types in the Undana campus area. It was recorded that there were six additional herpetofauna species compared to the preliminary study.

Abstract

The increasing use of internet media in Indonesia, as well as the trend of trading that has shifted from conventional methods to online media, allows for an increase in herpetofauna trading activities. This study aims to determine the online trading media of herpetofauna and herpetofauna trading areas online. The research method used was a direct search through online media. The results found that the Tokopedia platform was recorded as the online media with the most accounts (60%) offering herpetofauna products both in the form of live animals and processed animals, followed by Shopee (23%), and Facebook (17%), and found that West Java and Jakarta provinces as the most herpetofauna trading areas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman herpetofauna di Seksi Penggelolaan Taman Nasional Wilayah 2, Taman Nasional Matalawa, khususnya di Resor Wudipandak, Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Visual Eucounter Survey yang dikobinasikan dengan metode Line Transeck serta ditambah dengan pemasangan jebakan lem (glue trap). Pengambilan data dilakukan pada malam dari dan pagi hari, pengamatan dilakukan pada malam hari di ekosistem akuatik dan terrestrial, sedangkan pengamatan yang dilakukan pada pagi hari dilakukan pada ekosistem terrestrial saja. Total herpetofauna yang ditemukan pada penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 15 jenis dari 10 famili. Jumlah amfibi yang ditemukan sebanyak 4 jenis dari 4 family, diantaranya dari famili Bufonidae (1 jenis) Duttaphrynus melanostictus, dari family Dicroglossidae (1 jenis) Fejervarya limnocharis, Family Ranidae (1 jenis) Papurana elberti, dan family dari Rhacophoridae (1 jenis) Polypedates leucomystax. Sedangkan reptil yang berhasil ditemukan sebanyak 11 jenis yang terdiri dari 6 famili, dari famili Colubridae (3 jenis) diantaranya ada Psammodynastes pulverulentus, Dendrelaphis inornatus dan Lycodon subcinctus. Famili dari Gekkonidae (3 jenis) Gekko gecko, Hemidactylus frenatus dan Cyrtodactylus darmandvillei famili dari Scincidae (2 jenis) Sphenomorphus melanopogon dan Eutropis multifasciata, Family Typhlopidae (1 jenis) Indotyphlops braminus, untuk family Varanidae (1 jenis) Varanus salvator dari famili Viperidae (1 jenis) Trimeresurus insularis. Keanekaragaman secara umum tergolong dalam kategori sedang dengan indeks kemerataan total menandakan bahwa kondisi komunitas herpetofauna di Lokasi mendekati stabil, sedangkan untuk indeks kekayaan jenis tergolong dalam kategori sedang.
