Abstract

The study aimed to determine of implementation and the study result of physics student’s taught by the interactive learning media using the power point and PhET interactive simulation project and study result of physics student’s taught by using the power point slides on the subject of characteristics wave in the second semester at the class XI in SMA Swasta Sinar Husni Helvetia Medan. The type of research is experimental by post-test control group design. The population in the study were all student consisting of 2 classes with amount student of 70 people. Sample in this research is the total from the population. The instrument that use to determine students learning outcomes was the result test in the  from of multiple choice questions with 24 number by 5 options of answer. The result showed that the average score of the study result of physics student’s taught by the interactive learning media using the power point and PhET interactive simulation project  that (X1) is x = 16,73 and s1 = 3,281729407, while the average score of the study result of physics student’s taught by the power point slide that (X2) is x = 14,87 and s2 = 3,135055251. Hipotesis data obtanined ttesting = 2,42 with ttable=1,997 with that mean there were a difference in the study result of the physics that significant at the implementation of the interactive learning media using the  power point and PhET interactive simulation project  for the student’s learning result of physics. Keywords : power point media, PhET interactive simulation project, result of studying physics Abstrak Penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam dunia pendidikan sangat dibutuhkan dan memiliki peran penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi serta hasil belajar fisika siswa yang diajarkan dengan media pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan  media power point dan PhET interactive simulation project dan hasil belajar fisika siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan media slide power point pada pokok bahasan karakteristik gelombang kelas XI semester II di SMA Swasta Sinar Husni Helvetia Medan. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah eksperimental yang melibatkan variabel-variabel tertentu untuk menguji pengaruhnya terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa dengan desain kelompok kontrol pos test (post-test control group design). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA Semester II di SMA Swasta Sinar Husni Helvetia Medan yang terdiri dari 2 kelas dengan jumlah siswa 70 orang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah totalitas dari populasi. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa adalah tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan berganda berjumlah 24 soal dengan 5 opsi jawaban. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata hasil belajar fisika siswa yang diajarkan dengan media pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan media power point dan phet interactive simulation project (X1) adalah x = 16,73 dan s1 = 3,281729407, sedangkan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar fisika yang diajarkan dengan media slide power point (X2) adalah x = 14,87 dan s2 = 3,135055251. Uji hipotesis data diperoleh thitung = 2,42 dengan ttabel=1,997 yang berarti ada perbedaan hasil belajar fisika yang signifikan pada implementasi media pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan media power point dan PhET interactive simulation project terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa.Kata kunci : media power point, PhET interactive simulation project, hasil belajar fisika

Abstract

Education is the endeavour of a person to be a better person and to develop the self-potency that he possesses so that he can benefit himself and others. Education aims to help students to develop and enhance the potential that they possess themselves. Efforts to provide quality, effective and efficient IPA learning are continuing. Starting with the completion of teaching materials, the provision of teachers, up to the continuous updating of curricula – continuous improvements are made, then from that here the researchers carry out the action of creating Media and Teaching Materials by using Canva that produces products to create more innovation, creativity, and activity in the students of prospective SD teachers. Targeted outlets are producing web-based interactive media based on projects or issues, collaborating with partners outside the university on further research, and reputable publications. The research is aimed at studying the application of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) that uses Media Canva in the learning process for prospective teachers of Elementary Schools (SD) at the Faculty of Education and Education Sciences of Muhammadiyah University of Northern Sumatra (UMN) Alwashliyah. The application of this model is expected to enhance the practical skills of prospective teachers in integrating modern learning technologies and media into their teaching practices. The research method used is R n D method. Data is collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The participants in this study were students of future SD teachers who were involved in a project-based learning program that uses Canva as the main medium. In addition, the use of Canva as a learning medium enables students to produce interesting and interactive teaching materials, which is expected to increase the interest and motivation of students in the future. The study concludes that the application of the PjBL model based on Media Canva provides significant benefits for the development of pedagogical skills of future SD teachers, as well as making a positive contribution to innovation in educational practice at the Faculty of Education and Science of UMN Alwashliyah.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan usaha yang dilakukan seseorang untuk menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik serta mengembangkan potensi diri menjadi bermanfaat bagi dirinya sendiri. Belajar adalah suatu proses yang dilakukan peserta didik yang mengakibatkan adanya perubahan tingkah laku serta perubahan yang relatif Model pembelajaran project based learning (pjbl) adalah suatu pembelajaran yang berbasis project yang merupakan metode belajar yang menggunakan masalah sebagai langkah dan tahap awal dalam mengumpulkan suatu pengetahuan baru berdasarkan hasil observasi yang nyata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini model pembelajaran project based learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa, model pembelajaran ini memiliki metode penelitian kuantitatif yang dimana penelitian tersebut terbagi menjadi 2 variabel. Hasil penelitian ini merupakan jawaban dari rumusan masalah yang telah ditetapkan dan menjadi penguat sebuah hipotesis Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh dari pembuatan sebuah project.

Abstract

AbstractThe background to this research is that physics lessons are often considered difficult and less interesting by students, especially because of their abstract nature, the complexity of mathematical calculations, and the difficulty in connecting theory with practice. One of the challenging topics is Newton's Law of motion, which includes the relationship between force, mass and acceleration. This research was carried out at MA Muallimin UNIVA Medan, by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model, an innovative learning media that is relevant to development. technology. This research utilizes PHET (Physics Education Technology), an interactive simulation platform developed by the University of Colorado Boulder, to support learning Newton's Laws. PHET allows students to carry out virtual experiments independently with various variables, such as mass, force and surface type, so that student learning outcomes increase. The research method used is quantitative in class X-G. The instrument used is a written test (essay) with a total of 10 questions. It is known that the pretest and posttest data are normally distributed with a significance value of Pretest (0), Posttest (0,), and are declared homogeneous with a significance value Based on Mean (0.245) where the normality and homogeneity test values exceed (>) the real level used in the measurement namely α = 0.05 or 5%. With the help of SPSS, it is known that the average posttest student learning outcomes (85.93) are higher than the pretest (58.80), so it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyaakat di SDN 101874 Tumpatan Nibung bertujuan untuk mengedukasi guru guru tentang program P5 berbasis STEAM. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan mitra yaitu aspek produksi dan manajemen. Solusi yang dibuat adalah melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada guru guru dalam menghadapi tantangan kurikulum Merdeka. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan edukasi dengan eksperimen sampel dalam peningkatan wawasan dan pengetahuan. Guru perlu memahami tujuan, prinsip, dan komponen pelaksanaan P5. Dalam melaksanakan P5 di sekolah, terutama guru membutuhkan waktu dan sumber daya yang lebih banyak daripada pembelajaran tradisional. Guru perlu meluangkan waktu untuk merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi kegiatan P5 tersebut, selain itu guru juga perlu menyediakan sumber daya yang dibutuhkan siswa untuk melaksanakan kegiatan P5. Disimpulkan kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan melalui edukasi ini berhasil, dilihat dari peningkatan pengetahuan dari mitra.

Abstract

Purpose -This study aims to address the challenges of teaching astronomy in higher education, particularly in institutions with limited observational infrastructure and urban light pollution. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of Stellarium, a digital planetarium application, in enhancing students' conceptual understanding of astronomy concepts in Physics Education.Methodology - A quasi-experimental research design was employed, utilizing a pretest-posttest control group format. The sample consisted of 30 undergraduate students enrolled in the astronomy course, who were purposively selected and divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research procedure involved the development of Stellarium-integrated instructional materials, the implementation of teaching interventions, and the administration of pretests and post-tests to assess conceptual understanding. Additional instruments included a questionnaire to capture students' perceptions and documentation of classroom activities. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests, independent sample tests, and descriptive statistics.Findings - The results of the initial and final trials showed a significant increase in the experimental group's understanding of astronomical concepts. In contrast, the control group showed minimal improvement. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group's test scores, with an average gain of 16.6 points (p < 0.05). Students also expressed highly positive perceptions of Stellarium in terms of visual appeal, ease of use, learning motivation, and comprehension of celestial motion. These results suggest that Stellarium is an effective pedagogical tool for enhancing conceptual understanding of astronomy and fostering student engagement.Contribution- The study contributes to the growing body of research on simulation-based learning and offers practical insights into integrating digital technologies in science education, particularly in resource-constrained institutions. It also offers a model for adapting global digital tools to local educational contexts, thereby supporting curriculum innovation in Indonesian higher education.

Abstract

Banana chips are a local food product with high economic potential for rural communities. This program aims to improve product quality, develop flavor innovation, and expand marketing strategies for MSMEs producing banana chips in Lantasan Baru Village, Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency. The method used was a participatory approach involving technical training, new flavor development, and digital marketing outreach. The results showed significant improvements in three main aspects: enhanced product quality through better raw materials and processing techniques; diversification into chocolate, matcha, and tiramisu flavors; and expanded market reach via social media and e-commerce platforms. The program also increased the partners’ knowledge and skills, particularly Sumini,, in managing village-based enterprises. In conclusion, this activity successfully empowered rural MSMEs through sustainable improvements in product quality and marketing.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with Educaplay media on students’ motivation in learning Newton’s Laws. A quasi-experimental quantitative design was employed, involving an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through achievement tests and motivation questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings show a substantial increase in students’ motivation in the experimental class, reaching 81.5%, compared to 68.7% in the control class. The hypothesis test yielded a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant positive effect of the PjBL–Educaplay integration. Unlike previous studies focusing on general digital media effectiveness, this study highlights the specific advantage of combining PjBL with interactive platforms to enhance motivation in physics learning

Abstract

Pembelajaran geometri di sekolah dasar masih didominasi oleh pendekatan prosedural yang berorientasi pada penggunaan rumus secara mekanis. Kondisi ini berdampak pada rendahnya fleksibilitas berpikir siswa ketika menghadapi masalah geometri nonrutin yang menuntut penalaran tingkat tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi pemecahan masalah serta mengidentifikasi hambatan kognitif siswa sekolah dasar dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri non-rutin. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 10 siswa kelas V sekolah dasar yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui tes geometri non-rutin, wawancara berbasis tugas, dan dokumentasi lembar kerja siswa. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi visual-representatif dan strategi mencoba-coba (trial and error) merupakan strategi yang paling dominan digunakan siswa. Hambatan yang ditemukan meliputi miskonsepsi atribut, miskonsepsi spasial, serta ketergantungan pada hafalan rumus tanpa pemahaman konseptual. Mayoritas siswa masih berada pada Level 0 (Visualisasi) dan Level 1 (Analisis) berdasarkan teori perkembangan berpikir geometri Pierre van Hiele. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi masalah non-rutin secara sistematis dalam pembelajaran geometri untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dan literasi numerasi siswa.

Abstract

Rumah adat merupakan wujud konkret dari sistem pengetahuan lokal yang berkembang dalam suatu masyarakat. Di dalamnya terkandung nilai budaya, filosofi hidup, serta prinsip-prinsip ilmiah yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun. Salah satu warisan budaya yang sarat dengan makna filosofis dan matematis adalah Rumah Bolon Simalungun, rumah adat masyarakat Batak Simalungun di Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keterkaitan antara budaya dan matematika yang tercermin dalam struktur, bentuk, pola bangunan, serta fungsi sosial Rumah Bolon Simalungun melalui pendekatan etnomatematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa studi literatur dan analisis dokumen mini project. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Rumah Bolon Simalungun mengandung konsep-konsep matematika seperti bangun datar, bangun ruang, simetri, proporsi, trigonometri, dan pengukuran yang relevan untuk diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran matematika kontekstual di sekolah. Dengan demikian, rumah adat tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai warisan budaya, tetapi juga sebagai sumber belajar yang bermakna dalam mendukung pembelajaran matematika berbasis budaya lokal.
