Abstract

This research aims to determine the partial and simultaneous influence of accountability and service quality on muzaki's trust in BAZNAS Sorong Regency. The data collection tool used questionnaires which were distributed to 72 respondents and 61 questionnaires were returned which were selected using non-probability sampling techniques. To answer research problems and test hypotheses, the Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) V.28 analysis technique was used. The results of this research show that partially accountability has no significant effect on muzaki's trust with a tcount value of 0.227 < ttable 2.001 and a significance value of 0.821 > 0.05, while service quality has a significant effect on muzaki trust in BAZNAS Sorong Regency with a tcount of 3.409 > ttable 2.001 and a significance value 0.001 < 0.05. Furthermore, accountability and service quality simultaneously influence the trust of muzaki in BAZNAS Sorong Regency with a Fcount value of 7.316 > Ftable 2.764 and a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. Then the contribution of the muzaki trust variable is explained by the accountability and service quality variables with an R-Square value of 20.2%, while the remaining 79.8% is explained by other variables outside this research. Because the contribution of the independent variable has a low percentage, future researchers are expected to be able to increase the number of samples and the number of other independent variables that have an influence on muzaki beliefs, for example knowledge, religiosity, community culture.

Abstract

Unemployment remains a major problem in many developing regions, particularly in Eastern Indonesia, where local economic potential has not been fully transformed into sustainable employment. This study examines the role of culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in promoting economic growth and reducing unemployment in Sorong City. This research applies a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of five purposively selected culinary MSMEs based on business sustainability, local labor involvement, and use of local resources. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis with the Miles and Huberman model. The findings show that culinary MSMEs function not only as economic units but also as social agents that create community-based employment, particularly for housewives, youth, and individuals with limited access to the formal sector. Key strategies include product differentiation based on local culture, use of local raw materials, gradual production capacity improvement, early digital marketing adoption, and capacity building through training and self-learning. However, MSMEs still face challenges such as limited capital, weak managerial capacity, low digital literacy, restricted access to formal financing, regulatory complexity, and limited institutional support. Overall, culinary MSMEs are important instruments for inclusive and sustainable local economic development.

Abstract

Islamic financial literacy is a crucial foundation for promoting inclusive and equitable economic growth, particularly in Eastern Indonesia, including Papua. Low literacy levels, limited access to Islamic financial institutions, and insufficient understanding of Islamic economic principles present significant challenges for developing a robust Sharia-based financial system in the region. This study aims to analyze the current state of Islamic financial literacy in Papua, identify development opportunities, and evaluate challenges from social, cultural, infrastructural, and institutional perspectives. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, reviewing literature, reports from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and relevant academic studies. The analysis focused on socio-cultural, economic, institutional, and digital technology aspects. The results indicate that Islamic financial literacy in Papua remains low, especially in remote areas, but significant opportunities exist through digitalization, strengthening local financial institutions, leveraging educational institutions, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Community-based approaches that integrate local wisdom, such as the values of mutual cooperation and deliberation, are effective in increasing understanding and acceptance of Sharia financial principles. In conclusion, enhancing Islamic financial literacy in Papua not only improves financial inclusion but also fosters an ethical, sustainable, and equitable economic ecosystem, supporting socio-economic transformation based on Islamic values.
